    Even though, if her speed is almost 6 time faster, since her average speed is subsonic when flying downwards, her actual maximum speed is probably Mach 3 or Mach 4. Ranging from 600m/s to 1600m/s considering the possible composition of equestria atmosphere.

    I don't think those scenes are continues, since when Rainbowdash flying around the stadium, she travels only (12+1/2)*pi/2=19.6 inches on my screen while her length is 7/16 inches in 0.9s. Assuming when flying, a pony's length is 250/210 times pony standing height She only flied 26 pony heights in one sec, unless ponies aresuper huge, her speed at that time is lower than standard speed of sound. Rainbow dash does not slow down when she travels around the stadium and it is illogical for her to do so. Thus I believe she actually travels at similar or same speed when she is flying up. Even if we assume pony's height is 1.2m, her speed is only 31.2 m/s, considering the temperature might be low (-20 C, 253K) , Even the air in equestria is pure SCl4(sulfer tetrachloride, sound travels only around 115m/s in it), her speed is still less than Mach 1.

    I just did more researches and find out a common mistake and this mistake makes most people believes that rainbow dash travels really fast while actully her speed is not that impressive. The Mach cone is transparent not neccessarily invisible though, The white cloud we can see is called the Vapor cone, which is actually not the same as the mach cone. It is possible that they are in the same shape, yet they can be quite different. The vapor cone is basically the shape inside the surface where air is cooled down and the the water vapor forms clouds. According to some CFD simulation done with FLUENT 17.2, Rainbow dash might only fly at the speed of the sound or slightly higher.

    Need help on CFD. I'm using Autodesk CFD for a simple compressible flow analysis, but get divergence every time. There are some spot on the models when calculating that the sir velocity can go wild to over thousands meters per second or over speed of light. A few iterations later it get divergence... In Ansys Fluent I can control the speed or pressure/ temperature limit and fix that but in Autodesk CFD I can do nothing about it. Do I need to redo the mesh or is there some way to fix set the limit on that program?

    My favorite one is Star Trek:Voyager. Especially the Q x Janeway episodes. XD I also enjoy other Star Trek series and Doctor Who, Stargate....

    We know the show is fictional and exaggerated, and we might never get a satisfactory result. We estimate that the sea level atmosphere pressure could be as small as in Mars and dominated by triatomic gas(H2O, CO2)(lower speed of sound) if we consider the equestria has the same gravity as earth. That is why we assume the properties of the earth. As for the pony to apple size comparison, we assume that because the Equestria world is different from ours, an apples will not be the same as our apples, just as the insects could be meters long in the past and most of them are only centimetres or millimetres long now. We started basing on a post here in the forums, the calculation of cloudsdale from the epic sonic rain boom episode. I am redoing the calculation and try to set up a equation between Rarity's falling and Rainbow Dash's flying. I will represent the height of cloudsdale with rainbow dash's kinematic analysis and rarity's dynamic analysis, so that we can obtain a relation between ponies' size, air density, gravity and air molecular weight.

    We currently need help with fluidic dynamics analysis. but in the future, we will need people from all kind of fields, Geology, Meteology, Biology perhaps.... We want to make a full scale analysis, gathering all data from the show and setting up equations to find the physical properties of Equestria world like air density, radius of the planet, size of ponies.. etc. Maybe even the energy level of pony magic (If we assume the magic is produced by some kind of technology)

    My friends and I are planing for a video series, MLP Analysis: Science of Equestria. We will use scientific methods to analyze the Equestria world and make a scifi show with all the data collected from our research. The first introduction video was going to release in this month but there is just too many works to do, an we are not sure if we are going to make it on time. We need a 3ds max animator and some scientists and engineers to help us on this project.

    Voyager is my favourite, then TNG, TOS, ENT, DS9. I haven't watched much animated series yet. All Star Trek series are good though....

    I got 140 from this test, but I doubt its accuracy, since actually the questions in this test partially depends on the methods for searching graphical information which can be trained.

    If you are a student, you can get almost all Autodesk modeling programs for free. Personally I prefer 3ds max for modelling and Auto CAD for Engineering design. If you want more professional softwares or licenses for commercial uses, I am afraid thT there isn't any.

    There is a possibility that the bronycon will last for a whole generation after the show ends.

    2016 is a convention year for me. I have never been to a convention before but I am going to Bronycon, Star Trek 50th Las Vegas Convention and BronyCAN this summer. Soooo exited...

    I don't think she will do much help. It's easy to be a saint in paradise, but human society is not such a paradise. Material needs are overweight the spiritual needs some times. Besides, Twilight actually don't have much special skills or characteristic promoting friendship. The only thing makes Twilight a princess is her strong magic power that other ponies do not have, while this advantage does not exist on earth. Other ponies of mane six, especially Fluttershy, might be much more qualified to help humanity with friendship.

    Assaultrons for me... Its really difficult for me to defeat them in a face-to-face battle, and in most occasion the fight only lasts for a few seconds before I'm killed by their laser beam.

    I love ponies, but believe in? No...I believe in science and logic. I love ponies because ponies are an ideal form of existence, and they are soooo cute(highly illogical).

    When I first heard about bronies, I thought they were just a fandom, like Trekkies and furries or others....some of them are kind and some are annoying... I still believes that there aren't much difference between us and other fandoms...

    According to the Many-worlds interpretation, when someone traveled to the past, the choice of time traveling this individual just made creates a quantum reality where he 'changed' the future. Everything can happen does happen. Both of the realities where he changed and not changed the future continue to exist, and no paradox could be created.

    You sure about that? I thought a 0.0001s-lifetime black hole could weight more than 10 tons according to this Howking Radiation calculator (http://xaonon.dyndns.org/hawking/). Creating such a black hole could deplete hundred tons of uranium.
