  1. My Tails of Equestria collection is nearly complete. Just one last book in the series to go before I have them all.

  2. I used to have this raggedy paper craft, poorly made Monkey that I called "Bobo the Killer Monkey" but he conveniently got lost in a move I guess the weirdest thing I still own is a small but growing collection of bootleg plush toys. My favorite is this weird, round Zebra-looking thing plush with green hands and hooves. No idea what it's from, my mom found it at a yard sale and bought it for me.
  3. When I was really, really young, I was apparently deathly ill but I don't remember it at all, and if it counts, a guy tried to murder me at school once but got arrested before he did any harm. Also, I nearly drowned on at least two occasions, almost jumped off a cliff because I thought it be fun and almost hung myself by accident, all as a kid ("too dumb to live" indeed) Have you ever broke a bone?
  4. Destroy All Humans! I'm a hardcore alien enthusiast and big fan of classic sci-fi films, so when I was a kid I bought Destroy All Humans ASAP. I really liked it as a kid, so when I had the cash, I decided to buy it on PSN and give it a whirl. Man oh man it hasn't aged well. I love the aesthetics and setting of the game, but it's just so dull outside of it. Once I got over the novelty of these settings being based off of UFO hotspots and such, I realized they didn't really have much personality or charm outside of stereotypes. Not only that but the enemies were just boring too, not much variety there. What ultimately killed the experience for me was just how repetitive it is. Even though mission objectives change, the way you go about them usually stayed the same. Tossing a radioactive cow at unsuspecting civilians never gets old tho.
  5. I don't follow Death Battle much, but one of my friends showed me that they (indirectly) mentioned me and a respect thread I made before the Twilight vs Raven DB in one of their behind the scene videos. They effectively spent a few minutes calling me stupid but still, it was pretty wild. Even more wild that I've noticed two instances of random guys on different forums calling me an idiot since then for similar atters. I'm not upset over it, but it was a little surreal.
  6. Ah dude, Hetalia was my childhood! I watched Axis Powers religiously throughout middle school. Went back to watch a few episodes a year ago and I still remembered all the gags. I always felt like it lost something during Beautiful World though that could've been nostalgia for Axis Powers peaking through. Like @SharpWit above me, Hetalia is what got me into anime. Well, Hetalia, Sgt Frog, Soul Eater and Squid Girl. But still, Hetalia was the big one. The whole Chibitalia/HRE subplot still creeps me out though..
  7. Butter-Fly (Digimon Adventure) "A World For Us All" (Digimon Adventure dub) DiVE! (Digimon Universe) "CRY FOR THE MOON" and "The One I Embrace The Most" (X-Men Japanese) Transformers Animated Sentai Hurricranger Moomin 1990
  8. I fully admit I haven't played much of Overwatch but I honestly can't see the appeal. When compared to TF2, it feels less refined, clogged up, and flashy with characters who were made to be marketable rather than lovable. TF2 isn't perfect but theirs a reason why people play it it 10 years later. As for me, Steven Universe: Save the Light has got to be mine. The game was hyped as a more expansive console RPG based off Steven Universe and it technically was, but it just fell flat in so many areas. The biggest problem was how safe it was. The game was canon (why oh god why do studios make this stuff canon? it just limits what the developers can do!) but it didn't add much of anything to the universe of Steven Universe. All it added was a boring villain with a bland personality and ugly design. To top things off, the plot and writing of the game just didn't get what makes Steven Universe so endearing. It lacked all the heart and instead dialed up on Steven Universe's humor of obnoxious levels. The gameplay was actually really good with a basic but fun combat system, but even it was marred by repetitive enemies and tactics. I think the best way to handle license games is where they follow the general story or motif of the series they're based off of but expand upon it greatly. Just shoving in things that were in the properly you're adapting is lazy and predictable. It's why Stick of Truth didn't really hold up on my repeated playthroughs I think.
  9. Lavender Town syndrome was a Creepypasta I believed up until just a few years ago. Really, it took a comprehensive debunking of it (which I was legitimately scared to watch with headphones on) to finally realize it was just a pasta. "Gary was a Werewolf" and the "Aliens" myths in Bully are quite interesting. I remember always wanting to write a horror fanfic where Gary hunted Jimmy as a werewolf. I know a lot of people like the "Jimmy died after his final battle with Gary" theory but I dunno, always seemed to basic. Not sure if it counts, but the Pokemon Gen 7 Alchemy theory was absolutely fascinating and was probably better promotional material than the actual promotional material. It had me super hyped for the games.
  10. One of my best friends liked the show, which amused me to no end because he tried so hard to come off as a tough, bad boy even though we were only 11-12 at the time. As for bronies other than him, I didn't really mind one way or another. Even as a kid, I had a 'to each their own' mindset, I just liked teasing them.
  11. Gaming for me too. I'm a huge JRPG fan and, well, I hate to sound like one of those guys, but JRPGs just aren't the same anymore. So much chibi, moe games with no edge or tongue-and-cheek adventures that refuse to tell a good story. I like humor and anime in moderation but I feel like games can't find a good balance anymore. Phantasy Star IV had a good sense of humor, great anime visuals but also told a downright epic story with some legitimate tearjerkers. Pokemon too. I used to be downright obsessed with the series, I played Pokemon-Online for well over 4 years straight (and an additional 4 years on and off) but man I can hardly bring myself to it anymore. Gen 6 absolutely ruined the balance (ironically by trying to fix a "balancing problem" that wasn't really a problem) and Gen 7 felt so lazy. I hate to sound lke a gewunner, but they really dropped the ball since the jump to 3D. The 3D graphics aren't awful but they take away from the wonder of the series. The reason why Gen 1-5 have so much fanart is because the limited visuals allow players to really paint their own picture. The dopey, single-expression faces in Gen 7 kill any of that wonder. Early Pokemon sprites were incredibly stylized too, look at Exeggutor or Golbat's Gen 1 sprite, they gave off so much personality and charm, which is largely gone in recent games. And...as much as I hate to say it, Digimon too, to a lesser extent. The new games have been fantastic but I think it's the fanbase that killed my enthusiasm for the series. Theirs only so much times I can be called a moron for liking American content just as much as Japanese content, if not more, before I start to disassociate myself with the series. I still love the franchise dearly but I pretty much never post in Digimon communities anymore.
  12. Mine would probably be a fantasy-adventure film based on a book series i'm planning so... The Bard's Song (it's only fitting, the bands discography inspired like half my series though I think I would try and get a more light version) Wings (a it cheesy, but I think the whimsical atmosphere fits what my series is about, adventure, kindness and wonder) Last Night of Kings (would fit in the backstory, as the chain of reactions that set the plot off was an assassination of a king some ~100 years ago) Brave Heart (English cover) (the theme of overcoming obstacles through sheer grit and determination is something I try to emphasize in my stuff, and this song conveys that pretty well) Sacred Worlds (an inspiring and moody song, not a perfect fit for the world i'm building but it's not to far)
  13. When a series can't make up it's own mind about certain elements and so they change constantly. Seriously, how many times has Nightmare Moon's origin been retconned at this point? I counted six times, arguably eight but two are a stretch. And people who complain that reboots of stuff are always, and automatically, terrible. Some of my favorite shows of all times have been reboots (TMNT 2012, Legend Quest, FiM, Peanuts by Schulz, Digimon Tamers, Moomin 1990, Astro Boy 1980, etc). I feel that reboots in general never get a fair chance nowadays. The Ben 10 reboot isn't even bad, it's just not that good. Agreed. Likewise when people think hours and time put into a game makes you better. I've been paying TF2 for the better half of a decade with over 1,000 hours and I'm kind of trash to this day.
  14. I agree! Some of my all time favorite stories in FiM are the ones where the plot just sits back and lets the characters be themselves. One of my favorite stories is Zen and the art of Gazebo Repair, which is a 2-part story in the comics. Theirs no big crisis, no serious character dilemma or drama. It's just Big Mac trying to get some nails to fix a gazebo but keeps getting interrupted by the chaos of Ponyville. The actual plot feels almost inconsequential in comparison to all the fun things that happens within it. The plot driven stuff is just as good, but not as easy for me to watch. FiM has some of the greatest adventures i've seen in modern animation, but a lot tends to be "one and done" for me, so I tend to watch the character driven stuff more.
  15. It's a common thing in most fiction, where the visual speed of an object/character is slowed down so we can see what's going on while the actual speed is closer to what it really is. For example, I believe their was an episode of Dragon Ball where Goku was fighting Piccolo in the 23rd Budokai and while we could see the fight, the in-universe audience only saw the aftermath of their destruction because they were to fast. In the calculations I posted above, theirs also the instance of Twilight reacting to natural sunlight (I rewatched the clip at least 5 times to determine if it was natural or not and it was), realistically we shouldn't be able to perceive light but we were able to see the beam of light as it shined down in real time. About the moon. Word of god confirms that the moon and sun in Equestria are as big as they are in real life. I forget who said it, but I can try to hunt it down if you're interested.
  16. I don't go on that wiki much, but I think it's related to the number of scenes they appear in. AFAIK, the wiki has a point system about number of appearances somewhere but I forgot where. It's a pretty neat idea.
  17. Hello there! I know the feeling. It's sad when your favorite forum buddy from years back is no longer active, and sadder when all of your forum buddies are gone...but hopefully you can make new friendships! Like you, I had an older account (for me, either 2011 or 2012-ish) and recently went back online again after some years away. This community is still as friendly and active as ever - which is of course great! Honestly theirs nothing more sad to me then a dead internet forum (especially if used to be quite popular).
  18. Don't trust statements in the actual show or comics (especially comics), they're all pretty inconsistent. For example, in The Best Night Ever, Dash implies she can fly as fast, or at comparable speed, to actual lightning bolts while in Guardians of Harmony, it's indirectly said that Mach 1 is their top speed. Mach 1-10 is a pretty big low ball since Dash has speed feats far exceeding that. As embarrassing as it sounds, I and some friends of mine have done some calculations on her and other ponies speeds before. -Applejack dodges a lightning bolt: Calculated at Mach 548 -Dash dodged a lightning bolt from Derpy's cloud: Calculated at Mach 845 -Princess Luna flies to Equestria from the Moon: Calculated at 4% the Speed of Light -Twilight herself has reacted to beams of natural sunlight: Calculated at 20-46% the Speed of Light -Flash Magnus and his team dodge lightning while overpowering a storm (not-yet-calculated) It should be noted that while the speed of lightning tends to vary, the figure I used on the site was 440,00 m/s which comes from this. Does anyone here watch PowerCrunch/KaijuD or ImaginaryAxis? I've been thinking of doing a video in their styles for either Dash or Twilight for funsies.
  19. ....For some reason, last dream I remember having (about two days ago so im cheating) was about a tribe of blue giraffes that ruled the world. No idea where that came from.
  20. ^ I need to rewatch classic Twilight Zone again. The last show I watched was Llama Llama on Netflix. I really enjoy watching children's animation shows like Arthur, Puffin Rock and so I give Llama Llama a chance. It wasn't as good as Arthur or Puffin Rock but it was pretty cute. Surprisingly good visuals for a flash animated show.
  21. Bully kind of made it hard for me to enjoy open world games. Most open world games I played have huge, but empty worlds and tons of nameless, blank NPCs while Bully has a small, but compact open world wit lots of charm and every NPC has a name, personality and backstory.
  22. Nah. M/R/"Adult" rated fantasy on the whole never really grips me because they overuse their "mature" elements, making the entire thing feel unpleasant to me. More lighthearted fantasy series like MLP and Adventure Time still have darker elements and a well-developed chronology, mythology and world, but aren't so...I dunno, drab? I'm not sure how to word it. The point is, I think an M/R rated MLP movie would remove the whimsical element from the series that makes it special and make it a generic fantasy setting with ponies.
