  1. I try to maintain my composure most of the time, but I do know how to have fun with friends without being (or at least not too) immature. I just find immaturity is a trait that is typically more annoying than it is endearing.
  2. Slender and Amnesia have two distinctive ways of being a horror game. Slender is more of a survival jump-scary kind of game while Amnesia is more about the environment. Of course, Amnesia also has its own jump scare moments, but I think that it is more about the environment more than just about avoiding the bad guy. I like both games for different reasons, but I really do feel that Amnesia is the scarrier game. Seriously, try to play it with the lights out and headphones on like it says in the intro.
  3. I actually have two epic moments. I couldn't decide what was more epic: Phoenix Wright: That moment when you realize that you have the true murderer on their final legs. This is fairly consistent throughout the entire series. The epic cornered music starts playing, objections are flying everywhere, and you need to present a decisive piece of evidence to lock this guy away for good. Pokemon Gold/Silver: The fight against red, the first true pokemon master. Fighting through an abandoned cave to meet one of the strongest trainers waiting at the end to fight you. His team is comprised of mixed types ranging between levels 73 - 81 and was considered the strongest trainer designed up to that point in time. I look forward for a heated rematch in the next upcomming pokemon game.
  4. Im a big fan of Vim myself, but i'm more of a hobbyist. Kate (the default editor in the K desktop environment) is also not too bad of an editor for small projects and scripts.
  5. YES! It's not only in Canada, but Ontario as well! Well, you know what the commercials say: Good things grow in Ontario
  6. That looks really cool. Probably no match for something a little more complicated like lunar magic, but it looks like a good easy way to get into designing your own mario levels. Im a big fan of custom made mario levels, especially those realy difficult ones
  7. Anyone else try out SCP Containment Breach? Slender has nothing on this one in my opinion. SCP-173 in particular is downright terrifying and brings back bad flashbacks of Dr. Who and that weeping angel episode. Edit: I really need to replace this keyboard... certain keys aren't registering that well...
  8. My favourite pony of the mane 6 would have to be Twilight. She doesn't really display any traits that I dislike and her bookworm personality really adds quite a few points to my standings. As for my least favourite, that title has to belong to Applejack. It's not that I dislike her, quite far from it. I just feel she hasn't had as much time to shine as what the others have. I like her personality and everything, but I feel that she just needs a little more attention and development.
  9. As an ex-mcdonalds kitchen crew trainer: neither. Im not even a health nut and I am concerned about how unhealthy the food is. I used to like McDonalds, but now, I'd rather just fire up the barbecue or go to a proper restaurant.
  10. The sonic game that impressed me the most when I was younger was Sonic Adventures DX. I loved playing as all the different characters, especially E102-gamma.
  11. I can understand that, but with all honesty, Id think it would contribute a lot less of a cultural shock as making them pick up a new language rather than their cultural one. I would think cultures that proud would be left behind either way.
  12. How could I not reference the Babelfish? Honestly though, I don't think the language barrier will last for much longer with the progression of technology. Technology will adapt to us rather than us having to adapt to the language.
  13. 1. Which pony would make a good bodyguard? Protectionwise, probably Shining Armor. 2. What would you do if you took piano lessons and your teacher was Octavia? Um... I don't know, learn how to play the piano? 3. Which 3 ponies would you play tag with? Rainbow dash, Fluttershy and Derpy. Although no flying due to somewhat obvious reasons. 4. What would you do if you got turned into a pony and had to crash at Twilight's house for a few days until they found a way to change you back? Keep myself busy in the library until they find something out. I don't know whether I would want to return to my former self or not after a certain number of days and circumstances, but i'd just keep myself busy. 5. What would you do if Rarity stole all your clothes? I honestly wouldn't mind, so long as I had some article of cloathing left to purchase new ones in. 6. What would you do if Derpy offered you a ride in her car? I'd hop in! Seriously, what's the worst that ccould happen? I mean, it IS Derpy, after all! 7. What would you do if Applejack left an apple pie by your door? Well... what am I supposed to do with it? Eat it? Preserve it forever? Throw it at the neighbour?... I guess eating it sounds right. 8. Which 2 ponies would you have a sleepover with? Princess Luna just because she's awesome and Fluttershy so we could have the most epic staring contest the world has ever seen! edit: BEHOLD formating magics!
  14. My favourite genre of music would have to be classical. A close second for me would be trailer music, just because of how epic sounding and empowering they can be.
  15. Well... I think i might just just go without dessert for tonight... Could the timing of this thread have been any worse?
  16. I would move in with Twilight because books are awesome! I would probably help her out at the library and maybe help out Zecora on the side.
  17. I would like to have a discussion with Mr. Rogers, my personal childhood hero. He was truly a special person whom I would love to have a discussion with about anything. The interaction would probably be somewhat like when Spike met Fluttershy in episode 1. It disappoints me that I saw a certain "news" station trailing his name through the mud a while ago and a few of my friends mock him, but he is still undoubtedly my awesomest neighbour.
  18. When I was young my parents used to play on the Nintendo 64 with me. Mario kart 64 was always a fun one my mom enjoyed, and my dad was more of a fan of this arcade fighter I can't remember the name of. Now though, they have a hard job figuring out the controls, even for something like tetris.
  19. I prefer to use firefox over google chrome or the chromium project. Firefox matches my system theme a lot better than what chrome does and I really don't feel there is much speed difference between the two anymore. Then again, I run nightly, so that might have an effect on my perception...
  20. Well written article. Information about these empty slots sure has come a long way since the "poke gods" of the first generation days. It is now officially confirmed yoshi is not a Pokémon But yeah, that's interesting about the number of empty slots on the third generation games. Funny because the most notable glitch pokemon were all first gen.
  21. There is definitely a sad decline in multiplayer, which is truly a shame. My good friend and I usually meet up on the weekends to gather around the TV and play some fun multiplayer action. There are certainly a lot fewer good multiplayer titles than there were on the Nintendo 64. Well, minecraft has a local multiplayer mode now if you consider that a plus. I have yet to use it though.
  22. There is a a negative stigma about Nintendo being kiddy by the public sadly. You are definitely right about that. I see that claim all too often at different forums, gaming events, and live streams. I don't know where this new craving for bloodlust in gaming comes from, but it would certainly be an interesting research topic. Gaming is relatively young in the graphics department. You really don't have to look back too far.
  23. I don't think its very fair to call a game kiddy simply because its rated e by ersb. The rating system is designed to inform parents about the content of a certain game. It also typically includes why the game was rated as such o believe to the right of the rating. But it isn't right to title something kiddy just because there is a lack of gore or realistic violence. I would sooner pick up a copy of the super Mario brothers any day over the super realistic fps because it's more fun for me, and I couldn't give a darn about what others think about my gaming preferences.
  24. I have one very close friend who I meet with very often and not many others. Of course I have a few work and school acquaintances, but I don't really meet up with them much at all outside of college or work. I might meet a few people this year with similar interests in the course I'm going into.
  25. December of course! Who could hate the appearance of snow and the cooler climate? I can hardly wait to get back to cooler temperatures when things have been boiling hot all summer.
