  1. Surprisingly the haters I've come across are more of the leftover geek culture that don't like the show because it's becomed such a popular thing. Sort of the trenders who sometimes act like hipters? Really just hating on something because they probly find it overwhelming and kind of alien to them. No brony can say they wheren't surprised they started likeing this show about pastel colored ponies at one point. So it's really natural to find it odd at first. When you get over the initial reaction, one's brain sort of starts analizing. Why should I like/dislike this? Why love/hate this? And all I can come down to for haters, is either being overwhelmed by how alien it may seem or falling back on the prejudice concepts drilled into our brains by society over the course of generations. So I agree, that atleast, some of the haters base their opinion of bronies on rather sexist ideals. Even if they aren't really sexist individuals. I know many men who are all for outgoing women who are productive individuals in society like men, but do find it odd for children to play with toys relating to the opposite gender.
  2. I like her. As someone mentioned, she's down to earth. And she's also willing to risk it and get involved for the sake of others if the S3 premiere is anything to go by. And how she and Shining seem to be more than your typical husband and wife is great too.
  3. It was awesome. And it was hilarious. Andy Price's artwork is just awesome, so expresive, and simple, yet detailed. There's so much going on in almost every panel you just keep going back to look for more. Katie Cook did an awesome job writting for the characters. Everything that was said felt like reading a script from the show. I kept reading everything in everyone's voice so perfectly in my head.
  4. In show, yes. But it was first mentioned by a Hub promo around the time the S2 finale aired.
  5. Yes. I had my doubts. The first episode I saw was a "Bird in a Hoof" the week it premiered. Got linked to it in a ThunderCats forum. Watched it, and while I laughed and thought it was adorable and an excellent show for little girls, I really didn't get why the show was so popular. So i didn't bother with more episodes. But I kept seeing so much praise for it on the various websites and forums I frequented, that I decided maybe I should give the entire series a shot, and I'll probly understand. And then I was hooked.
  6. I would love it if Trixie is now somehow tied to Sombra. Could help for the possible build up we may be getting for the Season Finale.
  7. While this may be off topic, that's the impression I got from the commercial. Why not start a thread for this and we can fully discuss it there? It was really coincedence how I remembered hearing about "Saddle Arabia" in one commercial of the Hub's polls in relation to Shining and Cadence's Honeymoon destination. Some people on Facebook mentioned how the horses resembled the Arabian Horse Breed and I remembered the commercial.
  8. Seems I guessed right... Could they be appearing in the next episode? If so, I'm guessing towards the end, but I don't think we'll be seeing much of them if they do appear Saturday. =/
  9. Doesn't need to be the humans. The G1 villains alone would suffice. And there is so much that could be done with the Smooze itself.
  10. I'm play along and the answer the questions. Seems fun and potential for good debating. 1. How old is the crystal empire? (bear in mind it existed before sombra came to power, in which it is not 1000 years old). Slightly older than the founding of Equestria by Clover and friends. 2. How did Crystal Ponies originate? At the moment atleast. I like to think of them as the decendants ofa faction of Earth Ponies from the Earth Pony tribe that probly set of on their own/may have gotten seperated and stumbled across the Crystal Heart/Magic that has to do with it. And it all eventually gave way to the Crystal Empire. 3. Who was their Queen? Was she an alicorn, unicorn or a crystal pony? Earth Pony or Alicorn. If she was an Alicorn, she could've wanted to help this possibly lost Earth ponies and ended up making a kingdom alongside them. Or Alicorns could've come into play later. 4. Could their be Unicorn and pegasi crystal ponies? Maybe? Why not? But the thought of them being all Earth Ponies is really intriguing. 5. Is their Queen related to Princess Celestia and Luna, as she is most likely Candace's ancestor. Maybe? Who says they can't have possible cousins or the like? If Blueblood can be a decendant of their aunt/uncle through their mother's side, why can't it be similar for Cadance? 6. What exactly is Princess Cadence Special Talent? Spreading positvity and love. 7. Did their Queen die as result of King Sombra? Maybe. I also want to mention, that I'm open to the possibility of them having had a whole line of rulers, rulers that take the throne after their predecessor passes. This possible is what has happened to Cadance in a sense. Being a member of a long line of would be Crystal Empire heirs.
  11. That isn't Derpy. People should stop looking so deeply into background filler and spreading things and ideas that are not there.
  12. Considering moving and hitting clouds involves her legs, and her daily job is weather patrol. I think we have reason to believe she has pretty strong legs. If moving around and using your legs in some form daily doesn't get your strenght up I don't know what does. And she does more physical activity than the rest of the Mane Six (excluding AJ).
  13. No. RD hasn't shown any interest and she's fine the way she is. Also the fact that somepony who could fit the bill hasn't appeared yet, nor has the show given any hints cements this. The closest we're getting at the moment with a Mane Six getting a coltfriend is Rarity and Fancypants. And for all we know the fact that they've kept track of each other could be related to bussiness.
  14. Celestia and Luna don't have kids. Why do people keep assuming them being somebody's aunt means they have to be blood or close relatives? You know, they could be more of "adoptive" aunts in Cadence's case.
  15. Considering her age, by experience she probly knows how to recognize things that may have to potential to become great. Which is how her taking in Twilight to be her student was basically based on. And if I recall, Celestia wasn't 100% sure about the NMM thing, and bringing Luna back. Just that there might be a chance and that Twilight fit the bill for that chance. Cadence most likely comes from a lineage that was once linked to the Crystal Empire, she's most likely part of decendants that would've cualified to rule just like she does now had the Crystal Empire appeared during their lifetimes. Celestia isn't a phsyqic, she's just taken notice of things that can have possible great outcomes and with some, has thought up stuff along the way that can help compliment them in getting better.
  16. I can see her control over the moon influencing the rising and lowering tides. But other than that, and on the dreams thing, no.
  17. I say no, because considering it'd still be american styled storytelling I don't want it to turn into something like the Simpsons, South Park or Happy Tree Friends. Not that there's anything wrong with those shows, but MLP being turned into something similar..bleh. It'd loose part of the charm it has. Now. If by more "adult" oriented means more along the lines of DragonBall, I wouldn't mind at all. And no, I don't mean the fighting. I mean a story that doesn't mind poking fun at various topics, but still retains a certain innoncence to it. Or maybe Dr. Slump would be a better comparison.
  18. No, I don't. Her progression in magical power is coming as natural to me. Specially since there's backing that alot of what she learns is from books. Yes, she is naturally stronger than the average unicorn, but I think if any unicorn was as dedicated as her in improving their magic they'd be pretty strong themselves.
  19. Dark Magic is like the Dark Side of the Force. Always been there since Magic bega. It's probly easier to give into and use, with really powerful results, but at a great cost to be payed eventually.
  20. If the Crystal Heart would play any role in Cadence being immortal, why would there seem to have been a more traditional monarchy system in the Crystal Empire? If Cadence is a possible decendant of Crystal Empire royalty, then it sounds like there's been generations of them. That's why I did say it was all basically speculation as canon hasn't had any word on this. As to Luna during the Sombra event 1,000 years prior. She's the same size we see her around S1/S2, from S1 to S2 yes she does get taller, but it isn't enough reason for the show artists to bother re-sizing the S2 vector for the scene. Again, basing on what Faust said, it can be believed until the current show staff confirms or states otherwise, the Luna is not yet fully grown. Wether it was the S1 or the S2 height used for that scene, it really doesn't matter, as the scene's purpose is to tell what happened 1,000 years ago in summary. Not detail. The only reason we don't see Luna outside the S1 premiere, her S2 episode and barely see her in the wedding, is because the show staff never really had reason or intention to work with her character. Her purpose was for the S1 premiere, no more. Everything else was basically in response to how popular she became with the fans and how the writers now found themselves developing this vast world that could be considered as complexed as our own. So if you find yourself working on a show that finds itself in such a situation and you have this powerful and politically important character you had no plans for, it makes sense to use them somehow as it'd add more depth to the world your portraying. I can't realy agree with this. As to me it seems like making them seem like gods. if they where gods they'd be there from the moment the Sun and Moon came to be. Is it hard to comprehend the concept of possible races of immortals that can still killed? Because until canon says otherwises, that's what I feel the sisters are.
  21. For Luna, chronologically speaking only, she's 1000 years old at least. But if her aging process was tampered due to the banishment and the being possesed by NMM she could as well even be younger than the Mane Six physically. But this is just looking at it from the POV of a possibility as canon hasn't stated anything in relation to this subject, or the stages of an alicorn's life. And I don't think anyone is questioning Celestia. She for certain is at least a millenium old. What I understand was being discussed on her in relationship to her age, is what would be the maturity age appearance alicorns would stay with if they truly are immortal. Much, like again I mention, the Elves in LOTR having their maturity age being 50 and looking like that age for the rest of their existence.
  22. Probly the equivalent to a car down payment...or the equivalent to a used small car. >.>
  23. It was either a Pinkie Pie figure or a FiM backpack during Summer 2011.
  24. I've bought like 4-5 booster boxes, lol. Got all of them except the Gold Twilight. Not that interested in those Convetion promos as their prices are ridiculous. If anyone has that Twilight, I got a couple gold cards and all of the rest of the cards repeated.
  25. The Gala episode. When I finished watching S1 for the first time I was left wanting for more and went on the internet to look for canon and fan content I wasn't aware of. XD
