Your thoughts on Green Day

I remember about 4 years ago my dad (or maybe my friend, I don't know) introduced me to Green Day by sitting me down and forcing "¡Viva la Gloria!" down my ears. I have been listening to them ever since, so I kinda grew up listening to them. However, for a reason completely unknown to me, I never really googled much about them. Anything I read was on Wikipedia, so there was no opinions. But recently I've come across stuff on the internet, and everyone seems to hate them! I just want to see how many people here like/dislike them. Plus I'm bored.

I really love some of the songs from American Idiot like "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Homecoming" and I also like some of the songs from 21st Century Breakdown and Dookie. But I also hate some Green Day songs, but overall I like them I guess.

I think they are OK. I don't hate them. but I don't go out of my way to listen to them. I think their music isn't complex or anything ground breaking, but this is just my opinion.

I think Green Day is alright. Dookie is a good album, but i'm not really a big fan of their newest stuff.

I wouldn't really say that I am some sort of super fan, I don't know all their songs and all that stuff, but I listen to some of their songs and I do enjoy them a lot American Idiot, Holiday, 21 Guns, Boulevard of Broken Dreams.. you know

 

Also, I saw them live here in Sweden last year, it was an amazing experience.

I'm off and on with them. I had a time where I hated them (back when I was a teenager and thought it was cool to hate everything new and popular. >.<), and then there was a time where I thought they were pretty good and I regularly listened to several songs by them. However, at this point I don't listen to their songs too often. I don't hate them, and probably never will again... I'm just not into them right now.

I like a few of their songs, but I haven't dedicated a lot of time into listening to a ton of their songs really, so I can't give much of an opinion on them besides the limited stuff i've heard.

I admit, I hate some of their songs aswell, for example f*** time, but I love the majority of them. And not just the music, I really like Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool.

Definitely one of my favorites, for sure. I keep the first few albums on my computer's music library/phone for those days when you just need a bit of a reminder that it could ALWAYS be worse. Definite shoutout to Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy, Holiday, Burnout, Basket Case, and Minority.

 

I'll have to admit though, I...don't really care for the newer ones much. I liked Kill the DJ off of Uno! but...eh. Maybe I'll give the other two a try some day. *shrug*

Not something I listen to regularly. I'm usually into heavier rock and metal. Once in awhile I get in the mood to listen to particular songs though. American Idiot and Boulevard of Broken Dreams are the ones I go back to most often. Rarely I do 21 Guns.

They're fine musicians but they might of overstayed their welcome 10 or so years. They just seemed to have not quite tried to move from the sound that popularized them is all.

 

Billie Joe freaking out was great though.

I really love Green Day.  I've been to see them in concert twice, and it was well worth the trip.

 

I love Viva La Gloria, it's one of my favorite songs!  I've also got a special place for Good Riddance.

I'm going to be honest, they're not the best band of the world in my opinion. BUT they make some pretty good music! So, yes, I do like them. My favorite songs from them are 21 Guns and American Idiot (not meant to insult anyone) .

I don't like them nearly as much as the early punk bands (The Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, etc.) but I still like some of their material. They're an alright band I guess, just not top-tier quality.
