I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for any My Little Pony fanfictions for me. I already read My Little Dashi, Cupcakes, Bubbles, The Balled of Derpy Hooves, Spiders, She Woke to Fur Elise, Big Brother, Nuzzle Therapy, Rainbow Factory, and Derpy's Death. Also I would like the fanfiction to be Derpy, AJ, or Princess Luna related, pleases.

Alright, I don't really know your tastes, and I'm no expert. But... I have read a lot of fanfiction, so I'll give you the suggestions of some of my favorites.

 

Harmony Theory

Really really fantastic story, it follows Rainbow Dash when she thrust into a future Equestria, it has some of the most engaging oc's and character and world building of any fanfic I've read, I highly recommend it. If Rainbow Dash being the protagonist turns you off, don't let it. Rainbow is not exactly my favorite pony, especially for a lead role, but this narrative kept me interested and on the edge of my seat the entire time. Plenty of character driven stuff and action, with lots of uncovering what events happened to lead up to the future Rainbow is deposited in.

 

 

The Irony of Applejack

The Irony of Applejack is about Applejack turning out to be a changeling, and while she knew she wasn't a normal pony, she never actually knew what she was. Until the royal wedding incident kicks off the plot, with her realizing she's a Changeling, and that Changelings are now Equestrian public enemy number one. Lots of drama and intrigue and character stuff with Applejack coming to terms with what she is and how it effects her and her friends, as well as the shadowy figures who would wish to destroy her. It has a really wonderful portrayal of Applejack that feels totally in character and relatable, highly recommended since you like Applejack.

 

Prevention

Prevention is about another Shining Armor appearing in ponyville and trying assassinate Twilight, claiming she's going to kill the princesses and overthrow the Equestrian throne. I'm not going to spoil anything, but it's mostly a character driven story about this other Shining Armor and his issues and history

 

Without a Hive

A very interesting and fairly unique story that follows a Changeling, Nictis, throughout their entire life, from the very beginning in the hive to adulthood. It's a very interesting story to span the entire life and history of this one character, especially a Changeling, it's a story that's very easy to get emotionally invested in.

 

Stardust

Really utterly amazing story, particularly among crossovers. I don't know if the crossover part is distressing to you, but give it a shot anyway. It's a crossover with the Xcom series, but you don't need to know anything about Xcom to really understand it, it's a very touching story involving Twilight being transported to the Xcom universe version of earth, and being originally mistaken for one of the invading aliens. It quickly develops into Twilight befriending and working with the team of agents and scientists assigned to watch over her, with a really nice almost slice of life like approach to Twilight and her building relationships, but framed in this huge invasion story plot arch. With all kinds of twists and turns and cleverness. One of my favorite takes on Twilight just being Twilight, in a different and darkly challenges world, but managing to keep her true to herself even in this foreign setting.

 

Mort Takes a Holiday

A charming slice of life and comedy story about the grim reaper of ponies, the titular Mort, taking a vacation. He's directed to go to ponyville, and meet up with Twilight and the mane six. What follows is a tale about a very endearing character and his trying to fit in and befriend the mane six despite being the pale pony of death. What makes grim reapers such lovable characters? I don't know, but it's certainly present in this story. It was on hiatus for a long while, but it's finally started updating again, so it's a good time to get reading!

 

Past Sins

Past Sins is sort of a classic in the MLP fanfic community, with it generating as much fan art of the OC character as some background ponies get. Some people love this, and some think it's overrated schlock. Personally I really enjoyed this story, and it actually got me to  

tear up near the end. It revolves around some of Nightmare Moon's essence that survived. When a ritual performed by a group of ponies who worship Nightmare Moon is interrupted, it creates a small filly named Nyx, who's seems to have been created out of Nightmare Moons remaining essence. Nyx ends up being taken in by Twilight Sparkle, and what follows will either be heartwarming and engaging, or trite and annoying.

 

Upheaval: Breaking Point

Is a story about Twilight being whisked away to the edge lands beyond Equestria, where lands and ponies that no one in Equestria is allowed to know about fight to keep the peace of harmony of Equestria undisturbed by the constant rage of war and strife that surrounds it. Very nice grand adventure fic, that gets even better later on when all of the mane six get in on the action. If you like conspiracies and high fantasy war drama adventures then this story should be fascinating. Very cool world building and development of the setting, with Twilight and later the mane six having to adapt to the secret world outside Equestria's borders.

 

Wild Card

This story is part of the Chess game of the Gods shared fan fiction universe, which revolves around humans being transported to Equestria by various gods to be used as agents in this grand sort of behind the scenes conflict. The humans are always transformed into something, cow, gryphon, ect. With this story's protagonist being a satyr. I don't know if the human aspect or the shared universe setting might be displeasing, but it's a very funny and engaging story with nice characters. It gets slowly darker over time, leading into some very heavy character development stuff, but it's always a fun romp.

 

Alright, that's as many stories as I felt I could list with being overwhelming. But if you really want to keep track of all this kind of stuff then I suggest you get a fimfiction account if you don't have one already. 

 

I hope at least some of these choices were appealing to you, I know not many of them have a real focus on Derpy Luna or Applejack, but most of them at least feature them. If all goes well then you might enjoy some of these stories regardless!

Well, I hope this doesn't come off as pretentious or anything, but I guess it can't hurt to recommend my own fic, Batmare Begins, to ya.  It's a Batman/MLP crossover that features Derpy Hooves in the main role.  Not completed yet, but it's coming along nicely so far, and if you decide to check it out, I hope that you like it.  I've certainly put a lot of effort and work into it thus far, and am still editing chapters that have already been published.

The Irony of Applejack: As EquineWhoDoesStuff recommended as well, this is an amazing fic, probably the best Applejack fic I've ever read.  It features quite a bit of drama and violence, but it's all good stuff and nothing's too graphic or inappropriate.  Just an all around great fic that's most definitely worth the time it takes to read (not to mention it's the first in a planned trilogy, the second of which is out, though not finished).   http://www.fimfiction.net/story/78117/the-irony-of-applejack

 

Spellbound Apples: A personal... shall we say, guilty pleasure, of mine.  It's not very well written; I mean, the grammar's for the most part fine, but the author has some stylistic errors that really grate on me, including a very Gary Stu-ish OC who's pretty much the main character.  Besides those pet peeves, however, I do like it, mostly because the story's quite original, and AJ is written very well (and is another main character to boot).  There's some sweet romance going on as well, even though, like I said, the OC main character is pretty Gary Stu-ish, but if you don't mind that then it shouldn't bother you too much. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/108016/spellbound-apples

 

Princess Luna

 

A Goddess' Sorrow: Very sad Princess Luna fic that doesn't have too many chapters thus far (and I've only read the first, not the second), but very promising to say the least.  If you like sad Luna fics, this might definitely be your cup of tea.

 

A Sun Without a Moon: Excellent one-shot featuring Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, written by one of my better friends on FimFiction (who I even helped somewhat with editing).  Definitely worth the read! http://www.fimfiction.net/story/112621/a-sun-without-a-moon

Why thank you!  And no problem, glad you like ASWAM as well.  And yeah, Irony of AJ is a pretty unique fic for such a popular one; I'm not usually one for the "such and such is a Changeling" genre, it's usually quite predictable, but this one is just something else entirely, stands out completely on its own that's for sure.

There is no fanfic better then the rainbow factory! I enjoyed it more then Cupcakes which was mostly pure gore. The rainbow factory is also a dark fanfic but isn't all just blood and gore it actually has a really creative storyline

I really enjoyed University Days with Tavi and Vinyl, but my favourite probably has to be Forever Young, with Discord and Fluttershy (but not shipped this time. Friendship.)

I prefer sad or romance fanfics. I don't like any grimdark or gore ones D: I've read Cupcakes, Cheerilee's Garden, Sweet Apple Massacre, and Scarlet Harvest and they all made me cringe. I'm weak when it comes to that kind of stuff.

 

My favorite so far is My Little Dashie. Even though I wasn't a pegasister at the time and disliked Rainbow Dash, this story made my throat feel tight and tears flow.

And although I personally don't like AppleJack x Rainbow Dash, I recommend a shipping fan fic called "Treating Her Right" if I remember correctly? It's very sweet and has a unique way of making their love blossom.

 

I'm gonna get around to reading some more fanfics I plan on reading Yours Truly.

I also get a laugh out of "Spiderses" and some of argembarger's other stories including "Pepsi® Twist" and "Scootaloo's Big Meal".

"Our True Colors" was also a really good story.. it's a story about Scootaloo (best pony of CMC) and Pinkie (best pony of Mane Six) with a lot of feels.

My favorite fan-fic. It's hard to write good and believable story about depression and to show how characters feel, but the author managed to do it. I really really REALLY recommend this story.

 

It's very well-written, characters are in character, plot is original, not boring and it really makes me feels something, what for me is the most important thing in fiction.
