I have my domain name for personal stuff, college email for school spam / project stuff and gmail for general purpose stuff. I will set up my own email server on my spare linux box soon, possibly a weekend project for me.

The account that I signed up for the forum with is a Gmail account, however it's so weighed down with spam that I don't really use it. When I need to send or recieve email, I usually try to use my newish Yahoo account.

Same here. I've had my gmail account for a while now, and yeah it gets a crapload of spam. I made a Yahoo account around a year ago just to try it out, and it's pretty nice. I still use my gmail account more though.

Currently I use a yahoo account, one for my casual things like facebook and here, and another more official one for more official things relating to school and such.

I use gmail except for one yahoo account that I own, but I only use it for yahoo.answers and such. My yahoo account got spam letters from strangers ALOT. So, I switched to Gmail.

Picked Hotmail a long time ago because all my friends and family were using it and now I've stayed with it. Thinking of making a Gmail account but I have a certain grudge with Google.

I originally signed up for a Hotmail account on MSN.com circa 2003. Then I finally made my second E-mail address on Yahoo in 6th grade. I've changed Yahoo accounts 3 times for the past 9 years and until now my first ever Hotmail acc. is still alive and I sparsely use it. It isn't that appealing I think ever since 12 years ago. Now I have a Gmail address but I only use that for school or office.

Well, I use some of Gmail, Yahoo, and trying to start using Live's Outlook by Microsoft. Anyway, Yahoo is good, except used on multiple Yahoo pages (EX: Yahoo Answers). Google, my YouTube account links up to my Gmail. Anyway, thats what I use.

(edited)

Was solely on Google for a very long time (made my account in 2007 when it was first launched), but I've now got something against Google's mission and policies so I've made a Yahoo account to migrate to. I'm hoping to delete the GMail side of my Google account by the end of the year.

I have my own email addresses from my website @rotw.ca  I also have one with my ISP, Shaw, plus @yahoo.com. @hotmail.com, @gmail.com. @facebook.com, one with the university I'm attending, and I think I had an AOL one going too at one point in time. I mainly use my ISP email and the ones I have with my web space.

My first an primary account is Hotmail, and I was happy that when I fiddled around with the URL during the account creation I was able to change the country and get my country specific extension (@live.com.au) so I was rather happy with that.

More recently though I was unimpressed when they were trialing out the new Outlook look, so I switched to using my Gmail account primarily. I quite liked how it handed emails differently, as instead of Folders it uses Labels, so that you could still have everything sorted your inbox but still appear in it's own categories at the same time. it's very useful for checking your email's on a phone as all the apps I've found on Android including the stock email app don't allow for a easy way to stay informed when you have multiple folders.

Later on though I switched back to Hotmail again because I bought the new Office suite which came with the Outlook client so... I figured I may as well use it to get my money's worth now. When I switch though I try and transfer all my emails across from the old account so... I had lots of fun sorting though all of that. I also never delete any of my emails so I'm sure I lost some when I went back and forth between the two accounts. :3

Seeing this thread has made me me think about going back to Gmail... but I don't want to have to go though all that crap again. :P

Currently I still use my hotmail account, although it's not exactly hotmail anymore now it's been merged with Outlook and Skype. That's my standard and generic email which I use for pretty much everything.

I also have a work email which I think is hosted by Strato.

I occasionally use my Gmail account for any random sites. But if it's important, and I actually want to receive notifications from that website, then I'll use my Live account.

I use gmail for my internet activities. I think it's the first email account I ever made, having registered it sometime in 2008 or 2009.

I use outlook webmail for professional business. So far, the only thing I have used it for was my application I sent in to volunteer at my local library, but I plan to use it in the future on my cover letters and resume.

Gmail is by far the best, I find. Not because I use any of the other Google features, because I don't, and I sign into youtube under a username rather than a G+ name. I just think the UI of gmail is easier to navigate, everything I need it to do it does and does it quickly, and I can access it easily from the Google homepage. It also has a ridiculous amount of storage!
