Oldest living relative(s)- and how they're doing

My Great Grandparents that are in their 80s, almost 90s.

They live in Florida and are doing very well! They still drive, mow the lawn, do work around the house. I mean they do have minor health issures, but nothing serious. My Great Grandpa did have a hernia or something in this stomach and they did a VERY risky surgery that worried us all, and he did VERY well and went home like the next few days for being in such good condition. My Great Grandma has been in and out of the hospital for small things. Most of the elderly will always have an issue, whether serious or so minor.

I am glad they are doing well, I need to visit them sometime soon. Last I saw them, I was 14 and now I am 20 :/

My great-grandmother. She's going to be 91 next week.

We think she's a 16 year old trapped in a nearly century old body

She's still mobile and in relatively fit, especially considering she has a bone cancer in her back. It isn't spreading rapidly and she's had it for years but she still has to make a 7 hour drive 4 times a year to Arkansas to get it checked on. She still gets out and does her own yard work (much like her best friend who is 96) though the doctors have told her to be especially careful not to break any more bones because it could encourage the cancer to spread. It was only last year she finally upgraded her internet to DSL from dial-up. She still drives herself around and runs her farms. She's an incredible story of general toughness. It's always inspiring to hear her talk about her parents and grandparents. The Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. How she lived in a small three room house. Her father's first car in the 40s and how she got into some deep stuff when she accidentally got it stuck in a snowbank. How she married her boyfriend before he left to fight in World War II and how she stayed with him until he died despite many, many struggles (a kind of commitment few women will demonstrate today). How she and my great-grandfather built a sizable farm from basically nothing. She'll yammer you to death about all her family here and about her family that took the trains to the west coast during the Depression to escape the Dust Bowl. I mean, when you think about it, older people are amazing.

It's really going to hurt having to say goodbye to her. I know it's not going to be that much longer at this point. She's not in bad health, but she is slowly losing her abilities. She's becoming more and more dependent on other people as the years progress.

I used to help her with pretty much everything but now I live 2½ hours away from her so I don't get to see her much anymore though I did just get off the phone with her. I sure miss my great grandma sometimes. :(

My oldest living relatives are my grandparents on my mom's side. I have no idea how old they are though. No one's ever told me.

They're doing alright. My grandma has her own pet care business that she's been running for years, and it's still going strong. I don't know what my step grandpa does for a living.. but I'm sure he's doing well.

My other grandpa's doing well too. He's very healthy, and he eats healthy food and goes on walks and bike rides all the time. He's very fit.

My grandparents on my dad's side are all gone now, sadly. My grandma died when I was a baby, and my grandpa died just a few years ago. He was in his 80's.

Weirdest thing about that though was that even though I was over a thousand miles away from him at the time, I had a dream about him dying and me missing it.. as it was happening. The very hour.

I still have a Grandma on my dad's side and a Grandpa on my mom's. To be honest I don't know their exact age but I imagine they must be somewhere in their 70s. They seem to be doing alright but they come from a generation of heavy smokers and drinkers so I hope they have rugged genes and hang in there.

My oldest living relative on my mother's side is my oldest great aunt. She's 77, which is great considering that my family members seem to have a hard time getting past 74. :(

She's doing alright, especially after knee replacement surgery.

My Grandmother is 77 years old and seems to be doing alright. Hopefully she hangs on for a few more years.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

My grandmother turned 101 two months ago. She needs help getting around due to her age, though.
