Been a brony for about a month now...have to say it's been a great ride :D

I remember exactly how I became a brony...

I was watching a RoosterTeeth video on YouTube, and I remember reading the comments, Michael - who does RageQuit has apparently been a brony for quite some time. Now...at this point I had NO IDEA what a brony actually was, and I kept away from anything pony related immediately.

Eventually I just became curious about "bronies" and eventually looked it up and saw that the angriest person I know of likes a programme for little girls. I was like...what? Just...what? So I got curious as to...why the heck would someone like that like something like that? Then I decided to give in to my brain that was just screaming at me to watch it for some reason. I reluctantly watched the first episode, but towards the end I started liking it more and more. And then I guess I just watched the next one, and the next one, and before I knew it, it became the high of my day getting on YouTube to watch the next episode.

I've finished both seasons now, just waiting for the third...

  • 1 month later...

I became a brony sometime in July.

A good friend of mine (closet pegasister)

Introduced me to the wonderful world of memes.

Whenever I went on memebase, I came across the my little brony page. Out of curiosity I decided to check it out.

The first episode I watched is now a personal favorite of mine

"Party of One" and I was hooked.

Sometime in february. I posted this in my intro thread but a fellow goon drew it and it accurately depicts how I fell in love with the show.

This poster hasn't been active since August, so could somebody here tell me the name of this webcomic? I think I was influenced by something that looked quite similar and may have seen this myself, sometime before July/August 2011 when someone got me to watch the first four episodes but didn't watch any more.

Well, I became a full-fledged fan in December of 2011, (that is my vote) when I started watching episodes on Xfinity On Demand, starting with Winter Wrap-Up. But I did briefly consider spontaneously changing my deviantART tagline to "is probably a Brony now" after watching just the two-part series premiere, "The Ticket Master", and "Applebuck Season", but didn't do it and hadn't started referencing or looking for MLP:FiM on deviantART until after I really became a fan.

Ultimately, I'd like to say that I didn't find out about it by scouring the more pretentious flood-of-image-macro sites that think everything is a "meme", like Know Your Meme. There's no quality control there. I was able to get into the show probably because I learned about The Hub network from Wikipedia.

Actually, it was just a couple of moths ago in September! :P I heard about it a lot and thought, "Really, what is the big deal?" But, being the open-minded and super curious person that I am, I went ahead and checked it out on Youtube..... and the rest is history! :) I love being a Brony and I love the fanbase, we are all so accepting and awesome! I will forever be a Brony!

Knew about the series since its start (younger sisters). I thought it was way cool, got a little crush... but decided I needed to watch all the episodes after I heard about the hype, and now I'm in love! :D

I joined the brony community I believe in July of this year. I had gotten Netflix, and I decided to give the show a go since I had heard about it on other forums (I thought it was a joke at first...). I watched it, and became addicted to it. I watched both seasons in about a week. Had myself a little pony marathon.

Hmm... around December 2010. That makes me a badass veteran, doesn't it? Wow, now that I'm thinking about it, I've been around the fandom since it was (almost) born!

My journey to becoming a brony started last Thanksgiving. My best friend was visiting from out of state for Thanksgiving and she was telling me about what a fun cartoon MLP:FiM is. She had me start at the beginning by watching The Elements of Harmony Parts 1 and 2. I especially remember when Nightmare Moon breaks the spheres. There are falling shards of crystal and Twilight Sparkle has a look of utter hopelessness in her eyes. At that point, most viewers would be thinking, "Oh no, what is she going to do now?" But I wasn't worried. Even though I never watched this cartoon before, I knew exactly how the Mane 6 were going to win. Why? Because the same plot device...the fact that intangibles like loyalty, courage, and honesty can't be destroyed...was used in another cartoon.

This program was intriguing. It was unlike any My Little Pony I had ever seen before. It didn't make me want to turn away because it was too saccharine or dumbed down for thumb sucking toddlers. I was curious enough to watch more episodes last December. I don't recall exactly which episode I saw next, but one of them was Sonic Rainboom. I cried the moment Rainbow Dash broke the sound barrier and saved Rarity and the Wonderbolts. That was as intense as anything I've seen in 2D animation, and I've been a brony ever since!

The story of how I became a brony is last year in september I kept asking my friend alex about mlp fim and he told me to watch it, so a couple of days later I go to youtube, watch season episode 1 and 2, after that I watch more episodes and felt in love with the love.

That is how I became a brony. :)

Sometime around July/August 2012. It began in July but I only started obsessing over ponies in August.

How did I become a Brony? EA Forums. I'm active in many forums, and it just so happens there are quite a number of Bronies over there. Well, actually there are only like 10-15, but that's not the point.

Those users all had colorful and SUPER CUTE ponies in their avatars and signatures, so cute in fact that I could not simply ignore them. One day I decided to search "CSI: Ponyville", a phrase on one of the signatures. This was probably around April or May this year. I didn't get what it was all about and I had other things to do, so I let it be for the time being.

However, as the summer holidays were closing in and I suddenly found myself to have plenty of free time I must have watched another pony video out of boredom. And another one. And after that another one. And so on.

Being a fan of everything that's cute and adorable I became an instant fan of the show. By this time (mid July) I had already switched my Wallpaper in favor of Rainbow Dash.

That's pretty much it I guess.

  • 3 weeks later...

I was looking after the house for my parents for two weeks in July when they went to Malta on holiday. So I was browsing the tubes one day and noticed and episode of MLP in my recommended videos. I then proceded to watch it and ended up spending most of the two weeks watching all of season 1 and 2. Omg I love MLP so much.

Knew about the fandom for a pretty long time (came across memes, Black Ops emblems, people I knew on other internet communities becoming bronies, etc), but didn't really get my hooves wet and finally gave the show a watch until early November (of this year...yeah, I'm pretty new). Hooked ever since!

Last summer I watched various ytps of MLP thanks to cs188 for introducing me to the show in general via his "My little porno Friendship with benefits" video. I then decided to give the show a try when I found out it was on comcast's On Demand, and really liked it.

Before you read, just to let you know, I knew nothing about bronys before than.

Alright, my story is long (and if you have heard it, sorry). Anyways, most of it is written on my profile.

Alright, so, I loved Middle School, until I hit 8th grade. I had good classes, all but 2. Let me tell you that I had a block schedule, that means I have 4 classes one day, and 4 classes the next. They were known as A and B days, or M and G days. I thought it was going to be fun, since I was in the top Christian class. In the top Christian class, we do Chapels every Wednesday. It was fun, we got to do skits, sing songs (Praise band was awesome), and try and say parts of the Bible fluently (it was like teaching). We had little competitions with the classmates (who could say there lines the fastest, see who did the best on reading bible verses). Well, it was fun the first week. I was having tons of fun.

Next, week, I get in their, I am having fun, we are practicing our lines. After we were done, I said something. I don't remember what. One of the kids said, "Shut up." I ignored it, but no kid had my back. I make nothing of it. I was sort of blind at the time and didn't see how mean the world was because of my auditory processing disorder.  I told my parents nothing about it.

My mom soon tells me that she has signed me up for this music program that was to help people with ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, Autism (almost anything that you can think of). THe program basically rewires the brain to help kids with ADHD be more focused. Auditory processing disorder kids probably had it best, cause it helped so many kids understand and process more information.

The program was to take a few months. I was a bit mad, but, I was happy and pissed that it paid off. First day I had it done, it felt like it was working a lot. I went to school and noticed that in my P.E class, some kids were mean (didn't know at the time it was me). After a few weeks of that. I started noticing that kids were mean, to me, along with other kids. In Applied, I learned that only a few liked me, the rest couldn't care.

I prayed for it to turn out later in the year. Emotionally bullied everyday after that. Each day got worse. Around spring time, I would cry myself to sleep. Soon enough, I didn't cry. I couldn't. I literally could not unless you did something so terrible. I tried to let my emotions go. They were bottled up and stored somewhere away from my heart. I had thoughts of suicide. I wish I was never born. I almost started to cut myself. No one backed me up, NO ONE. The kids that were bullied, I stopped the bulliers. I could care less what they did to me. I could care less if they killed me. Actually, I wanted them to kill me. I could care less what they had to say.

I wish I could of gone back in time and fix it.

The last day of school, I cried, for the first time in years. I was happy that school was over. Not for long, cause I had to get into the car. The next days of summer, I cried. Since I didn't know if I was going to make it into a different school, I prayed, cried, and it took me super long for me to get over the pain. My summer was ruined, all because of these mean, rich douchebags.

So, how did I become a brony. Yes, I know it is a long story, but, I am getting there. In the summer, I listened to scremo, rap, and rock music [heavy rock music with lyrics of pain]. I found one song I liked. It was called Your Gonna Go Far Kid. Anyways, so, I was browsing the internet, looking for music videos and other stuff. I saw a video by TheSlutFox called My Little Pony - Rainbow Dash - Your Gonna Go Far Kid. I did not read the title, I just clicked on it. I didn't even relize what the title was, till I showed it to my friend. He pointed it out, but, at least he had a cousin who was a brony and promised not to tell anybody. Anyways, that was the video I watched the first 3 weeks of June (no idea about the brony community or title. Before my family and I went on a vacation, I watched the first few episodes (still, unaware of the brony community). After watching all episodes, I thought I was the only one out there (I don't know how I didn't figure it out). Anyways, I found this thing called bronycon. I literally thought it was a convention for little kids (I am still confused to this day how I didn't know there was a community. So, than, I typed in brony, and forgot con. That is how I found out what a brony was. Than, I found a forum on brony con on this site. That is how I got here along with how I became a brony.

I thought all bronies were a bunch of weirdo, fetished, cracked-out dorkwads living in their mom's basements.

Then i caught the flu. And then Netflix stopped working correctly. IT WOULD ONLY PLAY MLP!!! So for 42 solid hours, I watched MLP just to see what the hype was about... plus i was stuck on the couch sick anyhoo. My life has been complete ever since. I even went as Fluttershy for Halloween and managed to make a few other people catch the herd-flu.

My friends and I were sitting around doing nothing during Spring Break. While I was playing a video game on my labtop behind me two of my friends decided to watch an episode or two of MlP:FiM. I was bored so decided to log off and join them. I sure am glad I did because I instantly fell in love with the show.

Oh boy, storytime!

I was introduced to MLP:FiM when it appeared as a thread topic in a forum I was a part of about a year ago.  My initial reaction was irritation at this franchise reemerging (I hated the theme song and it got stuck in my head way too often).  Then I ignored it.

Cut to earlier last year when I decide to look at the site My Little Brony.  I thought the animation was cute, and after a while I decided to watch the first two episodes.  I decided that ponies were fine to exist, but I wouldn't watch any more of it.

Cut to last July when I went to a local convention.  I enjoy watching the FMV competition, so I did.

was in it.  Just because of this video's existence, I almost became a brony on the spot.  I toyed with the idea of watching more episodes, but did not.

Cut to August, the final chapter.  Several months beforehand, one of my friends gave me the idea to write a humorous story about our group of friends fighting off an invasion of ponies (they're not exactly bronies yet) and after ideas had been fermenting in my head for weeks, I finally put it to paper.  I was missing something though.  If I was going to write pony characters, I was going to do them right, so I finally continued on in watching MLP as a character study.  Things just kind of escalated from there, when I realized that it was no longer just a character study.

Interesting story, that one.  I think I came into the fandom around August-September of 2011.

So, let's start from the beginning, shall we?

My first encounter goes pretty far back.  Long before I was educated on the ways of the Internet.  Any meme that I encountered didn't phase me, nothing really happened.  Back then, I was the gamer that sat on single-player for his whole life; I never even considered multi-player.  So, the actual encounter.  I'm going to throw a rough estimate at around May of 2011.  It was a video on YouTube about Fluttershy singing Pinkie Pie's song during the Zecora episode.  I distinctly remember it being on the front page.  Anywho, it was some extremely vulgar rap song that Fluttershy was singing while Pinkie was making the beat to it.  At that time, I had not a clue what cartoons were on other than the ones off of Nickelodeon (I know, EXTREMELY blind to everything).  So, I thought to myself "What the heck are those?" in reference to the ponies.  I exited the video and went who knows where.

Flash forward to about August, I encounter a Source film video by ZavCoyote about Princess Molestia (It was a loop of her bobbing her head with her trademark smile to the 'I'm so Fresh' tune.)  Me, still not knowing all that much about memes and whatnot, decide I rather like the tune and visit the video quite often.  I even remember a comment that said something like.

"Dear Princess Celestia,

I just realized you are creepy as F***

Your Faithful Student,

Twilight Sparkle"

All I could think was 'I hate that movie...'

So, I start browsing the related videos.  The very next one being 'Pinkie Pie can't decide', also by ZavCoyote.  Not realizing that this was going someplace dark (like I said, rather uneducated in the area), I kept watching the related videos.  I eventually was watching 'Cupcakes' and other works related to Princess Molestia.  After all this, I eventually stumbled upon the one and only Kyrospawn.

You can tell where THAT lead to.  I was watching an extreme amount of 3-20 second clips.  At that time, I was full aware of what I had jumped into, and decided I would actually watch the show for the first time.  I was, naturally, expecting the worst, but hoping for the best/wondering why guys are actually watching the show.  I watched the first 2 episodes and begrudgingly went to the next episode.  I wasn't exactly impressed with the pilot....  As the day went on, I went further and further from 'Do I really want to watch the next episode?' to, 'I really want to watch the next episode!'

I finished the entirety of season 1 and the season 2 premiere in about 2 days.

At that point, I knew that there was no turning back.  Over the course of my marathon, I became educated in the ways of the Internet.  This is mainly due to all the things people kept saying about Equestria Daily and FIMfiction.

So, because of my entry into the fandom via the backside, I am pretty much numb to any forms of gore and clop related material this fandom produces.  I even seek out some gore fics from time to time...

That be my story.

(I have no idea how to conclude so I'm just gonna' leave...)

I joined the herd earlier this year in August. I first knew about mlp through the teens react series, and I then went on to watch the first episode. I just couldn't get into it. My sister also told me about it a few times.

Then, a few months later, I rewatched the first episode and I understood it better than I did the first time round when I watched it. I don't even know why.

I didn't really consider myself into the herd until october, where I finally watched the season 2 finale, I then listened to a bit of Brony music, y'know, the most wellknown ones, like Party With Pinkie, Discord etc.

Then I found myself watching it every day. Whenever I had a bad day, I switched my computer on and just flicked to the first episode which came into my head. I then found myself watching hours upon hours, even when I wasn't on the computer I was sat on my phone watching episodes on the YouTube app, since I don't have Netflix or any iTunes credit. I also downloaded some more brony music on there and I usually listen to that in those long car journeys I always end up going on. I actually have four MLP related tabs open right at this moment :')

So that's how I joined the herd. Sorry for the giant text wall I just made you read through aha :)

I joined the herd August 2nd this year

The day before i wondered what all this brony business was and i decided before i had a valid opinion on what to think about it that i should check out the show before judging anyone on what they watch

I started watching the first episode f season 2 and i thought it was good and then i was  like "well its a two parter so i better check the other half out..." so after watching two more episodes i decided to go back and watch the whole of series one , i was pretty much hooked since the first episode i watched. but i go off of the day i decided to watch all the episodes which was august 2nd.

I joined the herd at around July of this year. I was bored one day during the summer holiday and a few days before I had seen a snippet of the Party of One episode so I had decided I would finish watching that episode. After finishing that episode, I decided to watch another, and another and well at the end of the month I was a full fledged brony.
