How Long Do You Cook Your Popcorn?

The microwave my college included with my dorm is actually rather powerful.

 

It pops a normal bag of popcorn in under 1:30

 

It also fully thaws and cooks hot pockets in about three minutes.

 

It's a pretty powerful little microwave

I usually hit the popcorn button on the microwave, which automatically sets to 3 minutes. But I stay there and listen to it pop. When the popping sounds start coming in 3-5 second intervals, I take it out. It's usually about done at that point. 

 

Not that I normally make popcorn for myself (I'm a weirdo.. I don't like it much. Probably because when I was little little pieces would get stuck in my throat, and it freaked me out. >.>'), but I've made it many times for my family.

I usually set the microwave for about 2 minutes but turn it off when the kernels stop popping.

I usually cook mine on high for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. That doesn't burn it for me, it just cooks it normally.

Used to cook it for about three minutes on my old microwave. My new one, like every other one these days, has a popcorn button.

When I do eat popcorn it takes my microwave 1:30 to do it.

I don't eat microwave popcorn anymore. I've discovered how good Jiffy Pop is and I shall never go back. Plus it's more fun to make. Only takes a couple minutes.

I use the microwave and go by whatever the instructions say.  Often I will put 20 extra seconds on it

I just let it pop, and when the popping slows down, I take it out.
