I'm curious if there are some students in this wonderful community? What are You studying? And why this?

Well I'm a high school senior at the moment. I'm graduating soon and will be attending community college the next school year! (: I want to major in Sociology to be a Social Worker. I decided to take this path because I want to help those who are suffering and in need of assistance. I've gone through some hardships myself and I want to let these people know that they are not alone and they have a chance. So I'm super excited for college.

Currently studying computer science at university. I achieved an average grade of 94% for my first year (haven't done final exams yet though) so I would say I'm not really struggling with it, but I'm considering switching to a different course because I don't really find it very interesting, a lot of it's very repetitive. Trouble is, I've got no idea what I'd switch to. x)

I'm currently in my last year of sixth form (British schooling system), with only 2 months left then I'm free!  I chose to do English Language, ICT, History and Media Studies, and probably going to be aiming for C's in all of them. If I had to choose a favourite subject it would be History, hands down... Despite it being the hardest 

 

Pro tip as well.... BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER WORK... I may have lost a small portion of my ICT coursework today due to my memory stick finally dying... Oops

Another Uni student here too. I'm also studying psychology! :grin2:

Mainly because people fascinate me, and I can apply this stuff I learn all throughout life in various situations. Knowing how people work is useful in dealing with them for the most part!

 

I can't say I have some massive intention to help people, more I like to solve the puzzle of the complex human mind! I guess psychology comes in all different fields and forms which Is even more reason to love it!

Anyone who claims it isn't a science? Hah! Blasphemy I say!

I'm a Grade 11 High School student, and am hoping to get into colledge for sound. I enjoy listening to music(dubstep) a lot, and am interested in sound at the same time. I have a low average including my last two years, but so far this year, I'm in the 80's for percentage. Good thinng schools only look at your last two years... Ususally. XD But I also love helping people as well, and will do so in my everyday life as much as possible.

I agree with that in 100%! Psychology is very very interesting (same as human xD) and yes, there's quite a lot of parts that You can focus on.

How many are going into programming? You know that this is a very competitive field... I was going to get into it myself at first, but the chances of making it into a college is slim (Maybe not as much for non-computer science things).

Well in my class right now there is only me and like 4 other kids doing info science. Everyone else is a programmer strictly. I'm doing info science because if i take over my dad's business i'm going to add on to it

Well, if ya got high enough marks in ALL your courses, then you're set as well. Colleges don't look at the course in high school as an out-liner, the course just helps once you get in the college.

Nice plan. You really know what You want to do! And this is first thing You need to make it happen! Wish You luck with that! And hope that You will be great teacher for Your students in the future.

On April 17 (this year), I've finished my 1st year of College in the program, "Digital Video Production" (which is a program that's a part of my college's School of Media, Art & Design (School of MAD for short). I will be going back for the 2nd year in September.

From what I can tell the target grades to get in are achievable.
