gaming Do you name your Pokemon?

I very much so. I like doing so as giving nicknames to Pokémon gives them more personality. Plus it's fun to think so many different names for just one Pokémon. It takes me a while to think of a name that I like, however.

Also, is "Blue Moon" a good name for a shiny Umbreon?

Yes, Blue Moon is a brilliant name for an Umbreon. :P

Yup, I do! Sometimes, at least. My Mightyena is called "Laina", my Pikachu is called "Deluxe" and in HeartGold, I used to have a Quagsire called "Resbaloso," which means... "slippery" in Spanish :P .

And yes! Blue Moon is an awesome name in my opinion.

I always try to, not that it always works out. I had a delphox called "Psly" in my first X playthrough, and a victribell called "Tatzlwurm" in my current Fire red playthrough

Eeyup. I do nickname my Pokemon like I named my Clefable, "Pixie Favor". If it was female then I would've called it "Sugar Belle".

Every time I play I usually try and have a kind of naming scheme for them all. For instance in White version, I named my Pokemon after mythological figures from Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythology. While in X version I named them after figures of Arthurian myth to go with the more European setting.

-Gallde = Galahad

-Lucario = Lancelot

-Hariyama = Kay

-Floette = Nimue

-Honedge = Tyrfing. Okay so I cheated with this one and pulled from Norse mythology. But a specifically cursed sword's name like Tyrfing fits Honedge far better than Excalibur. Until it evolves into Aegislash.

I don't name every Pokemon I catch though. Usually I name those that I know ahead of time are going to use particularly a lot and will be close to.

I name every Pokemon I catch. just because I can. They may not be especially good names (usually just nouns or random words related to said Pokemon), but every once in a while I come up with something resembling a ingenious name.

No I really don't like naming my Pokémons. I prefer to keep their original name to learn it, and I also like that it changes when they evolve.

I used to always keep the original names, but now I always name the Pokémon I catch, even if I'm not going to use them. I always pick weird names, though. Example: My Tropius is named "I'm a banana."

I actually don't, really. I just feel like naming them takes away a bit of what they are. Weird I know, you'd think for most people a nickname would add a personal touch, but for me I just think it's better for them to keep the name of what they are.  :please:

Blue Moon would be a great name for a shiny Umbreon. :P

Anyway, I only just started naming my Pokemon with Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. I have never named my Pokemon in previous entries. However, I enjoyed naming them, so I'll probably continue doing so in future games.

I can't really remember most of what I've named my team in Alpha Sapphire at the moment and I don't really want to open the game up, but I do remember that my Sceptile is named Talia, so there's that. :muffins:

i nicknamed my entire team in soulsilver. as to follow the character of gold, of course.

a few nicknames really stood out. like 'Aeroga' for my pidgeot, and 'Tombstone' for my haunter.
