What would your favorite fan fics be? Personally mine would be Vinyl and Octavia University Days. What can I say, i'm a sap for a love story.  :lol:

A close second would be Fallout Equestria, especially with Fallout 4 right around the corner, I feel like re-reading this gem. Any recommendations on fan fics as well? That'd be great.  :D

And one mustn't forget The Things Tavi Says. SS&E's imagery is absolutely flawless. I would be lying if I said I didn't get emotional whilst reading it.

There are so many works that I've yet to read, but I am sure more will be added to my list. And all of them will undoubtedly revolve around Octavia.

To Befriend the Night and its sequel To Swoon the Stars (good God, the language used and the mystery are just far too good to overlook), along with Regarding Falling Villains (hilarious in any conceivable way, along with a fantastic writing and narration) and How to Court Alicorns: A Human's Guide (because of ze giggles).

It can if the story touches your heart the way it touched mine guess I have strong emotional attachment to the story

Another SS&E fan? Yay, I totally agree, (s)he's my favorite fanfiction author I've seen so far. Excellent at writing descriptively. 

 

Favorite fanfiction is the Immortal Game by AethesticB, who would be my favorite fanfiction author but he's only written three stories, all three of which are very good. It's a dark take on Equestria that is very original, well written, and has great original characters. Also, the shift in perspectives really helps to hate the villain's guts.

 

Hard Reset, a time loop fanfiction written by Eakin, is also very original, darkly funny, and really keeps you on the edge of your seat. 

 

For something funny, Hail to the King by Qwapdo can't be beat; it is, by far, the most hilarious fanfiction I have ever read, only rivaled by an old Kingdom Hearts fanfiction I read years ago (if you like fanfiction and Kingdom Hearts, you probably know the one i'm talking about).

 A Mighty Demon Slayer Grooms some Ponies- it's a crossover of G1 and G4, but it tell how G1 world become G4 and different chapter, Megan (from G1) groom each ponies of Mane six but Megan's little sister Holly groom Fluttshy & Danny groom Pinkie Pie, also backlash of G1. Favorite Chapter is Danny groom Pinkie, Pinkie remind him of Surprice and also show back time of what going on. It kind of drak but it maybe first fiction I got hook on. Shame final chapter got deleted and on hitus cos many complant.

I read a fanfic a few months ago called "The Death of Princess Luna", I don't reamember who the author was, but it had a really great storyline that would make you ask what happens next. It even made me get a little emotional and it takes a lot to make me get emotional. That was one of my favorites though.

The sad thing about me is, I only read Fluttershy fanfics. I personally think that's a bad thing because there is probably tons and tons of other fanfics out there and for only reading fics based on one character, it really limits my world. (Although I have read Cupcakes, My Little Dashie, and am currently reading Cheerilee's garden). But, hopefully I will read more fics out there in the future.

 

My favorite (Fluttershy) fics are "A rose is a rose" & "My sister Fluttershy".

 

Rose is a rose is one where I read throughout the days in sixth grade, and I still remember exactly the experiences I felt of adventure in it. It gets everyone's personality (Back in 2012) very accurate. It was the first time I was actually excited to read something.

 

My sister Fluttershy is currently, the only thing on MLP that I actually cried about for a short time (literally). It focuses more on Fluttershy's fan made older sister, and I could really feel the atmosphere in it. Now that I've heard Fluttershy is going to have a little something in the future (spoilers), it's going to make this story untrue but, now I feel like reading it again, after 3 years.

Ones i like tend to be the dark and sad fics.... idk why but i seem to love to not able to sleep at 2 am after listening to them  :pinkie:

Ones that stand out and i would listen to again (i listen to fanfics because i have trouble reading...  :(  but it lets me enjoy then more so  :muffins: )

Faun by PresentPerfect, In Bloom by Pascoite, A Puppet To Her Fame by Kaidan, NIGEB by Aquaman ( Warning all that I listed have some rather dark things. ESPECIALLY A Puppet To Her Fame cough. ) and some more but then again i just started listening to fanfics a couple months ago so i have just been going threw TheLostNarrator (who has some really awesome grimdark stories) and ObabScribbler (who has a lot of awesome fanfics in general) on YT  :blush:

White Zinfandel: Warning, the first act of the story does contain a variety of clop, it's not exactly the best written (I would actually suggest the writer find himself an editor to iron out the misspellings, grammar issues, and small inconsistencies), and there's a considerable amount of [good] headcanon that comes into play. The storyline, however, is phenomenal! The story centers around Shining Armor's life growing up and the trials, heart ache, and stresses that strengthen the stallion from his teenage years into the heroic Royal Guard Captain that the show portrays him as. Starting from when Shining is a teenager, the young stallion's entire life is turned upside down when he is assigned to be the personal escort of Rarity and her mother during Rarity's father's pro hoofball games. And things only get crazier from there. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll scream with anger! From schoolfilly crushes to hoofwritten letters spilling deep secrets, this story is highly recommended to anypony who doesn't mind wading through the smut to find a truly winning plot beyond.

Fic can stand alone on itself, but the anthology oneshots also written by the same author as well as other stories written by other authors within the same universe (Most of which can be found in the FIMfiction group "Xenophilia HQ") are recommended for their quality
