I recently started watching the newer epiodes of Spongebob (today, actually) and I started wondering If anyone in this forum is a fan of that show.

If you do watch Spongebob, what are your thoughts on it? Do you like the older seasons or the newer seasons, who's your favorite character, etc.

Mostly a fan of the older stuff, as most of the new episodes for me either range from meh to awful, save for a few exceptions(Two Faces of Squidward, for example)

 

I do like S4 and most of S5 more than other people though

I personally am not a fan of the newer stuff, and that goes for all of Nickelodeon, nothing too original on there yet imo.

 

But I do prefer the older stuff, since that's still getting laughs out of me to this day. Also a bit off topic, but I still love Invader Zim.

Older ones are obviously better, but I like watching Mr.Enter rage over the newer ones.

 

Favorite character back in the old days was Squidward, like everyone else.

I do! It's my second favorite cartoon actually. It went downhill from season 4 to part of season 9, but now that the original creator is back, I think it's just as good.

i like the older stuff but i have heard that the show is starting to get better and i did check out one of the newest ones where stephen, the creator came back and it was actually good

I agree with you completely m8. They really outdid themselves with the movie. They should put more effort into the the show like with the second movie.

I prefer the original 3 seasons(and the first movie) over the newer seasons, but season 4 did have some good content.

the're good episodes but not that good it starts with Lost in Bikini Bottom and Tutor sauce, they actually make some adult jokes that the parents can enjoy too but again its not as good as the really old seasons

What is this talk of Stephen Hillenburg returning to the show's production? I don't remember ever hearing anything about this...

But, like most people, I prefer the older episodes. Not only because of nostalgia but because it was just plain entertaining. I can't exactly pin down a favorite season, but I think the first few episodes will always be my favorite. As for characters... a tie between Patrick Star and Mr. Krabs.

It's been forever since I've watched the show though. I don't remember the last time I saw it. Probably like 2-3 years ago now... my venue in terms of what shows I watch has really dwindled in the past 5 years.

I used to watch it a lot more when i was younger but as I've drawn away from the TV, i don't watch it anymore. 

I'm still a big fan of the show though and even went to see the newest movie... not to spoil it for anyone but it was

 

It was meh. While watching it i thought it was quite good but comparing it to the first movie... It's crap

 

 

Though i do still play the amazing ps2 and gamecube spongebob games such as Battle for Bikini bottom and the first movie game... So good!!

I watch Spongebob c: I have since I was 5 or 6. I can say that I prefer the older episodes rather than the new. The newer the episode, the more the humor changes. It is no longer random funny humor. In my opinion, it is turning into a rather odd stupid humor. I watch some shows with stupid humor, but there is a difference to me between an adult cartoon meant to be kinda stupid than a kid show that is just stupid, like over half of the Cartoon Network shows.

One of the newest episodes, Tutor Sauce, is really funny. It is one of the funniest things from I have seen from Spongebob in a long time. The thing is, with newer Spongebob, there are so many bad episodes, it really makes you appreciate the better made ones.

I have been watching Spongebob since my childhood, it was good in the early seasons, iffy in Seasons 4-6. But Seasons 7-9 is a bit mediocre if you ask me. Other than that the humor in the show is hilarious.
