Most of the Final Fantasy series. They have some really skilled composers there! (Particularly Nobuo Uematsu, he's my favorite music man of all time.) Specific Final Fantasies whose music I love are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13. FF6's music has a very particular musty, yet hopeful feel which matches its game. Meanwhile, FF7 feels a little more technological and all over the place, but makes great use of its midi format.

And FF8? It's nice, floaty, and romantic, yet epic at the same time. I mean, just look at the song they use when you first start the game. And the Final Boss' theme, The Extreme, is in my opinion the standard to which all final boss music should be set. Long, appropriately epic and awesome.

Then there's FF9. I'll admit I'm very nostalgic for the tracks as I have played the game very excessively. But! They are still quite awesome. There's a variety of emotion within them, and whilst not as epic as FF8, this game boasts more themes that I like than in other video games. I also like the beginning of character leitmotifs (theme songs). And Melodies of Life is just a beautiful song that brings me to tears when I hear it.

As for FF10, its music has a very relaxing, sort of tropical feel in many cases. It's nice to just sit down and hear Spira Unplugged whilst relaxing. But it is capable of true epicness on-par with the greater sound power of the PS2. Witness, for instance, Battle with Seymour.

Then FF13. Ah, this game truly makes use of the PS3's capability for brilliant orchestra. The themes are vivid and full of this strange sort of artsy energy, making them memorable. Masashi Hamauzu of FF10 fame once again proves that he is just as awesome as Nobuo Uematsu. Whenever I hear Fang's Theme, I feel as if I'm flying through a brilliant blue sky during an epic environmental sequence.

Other than FF, I also like Chrono Trigger/Cross' soundtracks. Trigger makes quite literally the best use of SNES' midi instrumentals I have ever heard, to the point where I prefer the original to more organic-sounding remixes with actual instruments. Its Battle Theme never gets old to me, and I find Ocean Palace to be a haunting and epic song. Cross has more of that sort of strange artsy relaxy feel like FF13 and FF10, and it works well. Its Battle Theme uses an awesome violin, and its main theme, Radical Dreamers, feels calming and hopeful.

Kjell Reuterswärd has been through a tragic accident and left us at 34 years old. He died +/- 20 days before BF4 came out, a game he was so excited about to see it publically.

He grew up in Brunflo with his parents and two brothers. After graduation and military service , he studied engineering at Linköping University. During his studies , he was active in various student organizations . He completed his education with a scholarship year at Stanford in the United States and thesis in Los Angeles.

Since 2005 he has worked for DICE, first as a programmer and in recent years in a management role . He was just about to move to Los Angeles again , this time to be part of building up a new DICE office . Prior to this, he was very excited.

Kjell was a purposeful , creative and active person with a developed aesthetic sense . He set high goals and often managed with what he was doing.

In addition to his dedication professionally , he had many interests. By that time he tried several different sports such as football, golf , skiing and more. Most dedicated was he that hockey goalie in Brunflobadet NS . Sports Interest was later to run. He successfully completed several Marathons . Kjell had a keen interest in outdoor activities and nature. It manifested itself in everything from pushing up bonsai , hiking in Sarek with good friends, for staying in the family's holiday home in Åre. Here he switched off by ski, sauna and make a fire to roast over open fire at us. His interest in food grew with the years and combined well with travel together with friends and family.

Kjell was caring and generous to family and relatives. For cousins in Torvalla he was an extra brother. A very special place in Kjell's heart had his little nephew.

Rest in Peace Kjell, we will never forget you.

well even though it has been mentioned a lot already, I love pretty much the whole Skyrim soundtrack. But I also love the World of Warcraft soundtrack as well, very well done music there I think.

for me,the whole super metroid soundtrack.

why?because the ambien it create is unique.while other games of that genre have hard soundtrack, super metroid ost makes you feel completly alone, and remember you that you're on a unknown land, where danger could be anywhere.

one of my favourite music on this game is the upper maridia music.listen it and you see why,but you have to listen it at least until 1:25 to understand the special thing about it:

Ever had a soundtrack you truly loved in a video game? Ever set the game to it's perfect view? Or just enjoyed it by itself? For me, the Forza Motorsport soundtrack stands itself apart, specially from the 3Rd game :3 Giving the game the feeling of a slick and stylish racing game that composites the work of realism and the feeling of the race.... Now I'm babbling again ^^

Do stick around Darling, I could use the company~

I mayyyyy be a little biased on this one but i absolutly love the music of the Mas Effect series. I can sit down and listen to all 3 sound tracks, gives you that "epic" feeling inside. I couldn't pick a favorite out of the bunch even if i had to.

*Honorable mention: Halo series

I may be a bit biased since Fez is one of my favorite games, but the soundtrack is one of the many reasons I love the game. It is the perfect mix of ambience and Chiptune.

But I'm also very partial to the soundtracks of games like Banjo-Kazooie, any Mega Man game, Earthbound, 140, VVVVVV, Thomas was Alone, and I love the main theme to Papers, Please.

The Infinity Blade Trilogy. Good God, that has some of the most epic pieces of music in the history of ever. Songs like "Here I Will Wait", and "Duel Of The Deathless", are masterpieces.
