Do you think starlight glimmer will be in the movie?

Kind of wondering if starlight glimmer is going to be in this movie.
Season 6 seems to be setting her up as the seventh member of the group, the Premier revolved about 50% around her, and she's having a heavy amount of importance this season (Already more episodes than the other mane six before the halfway point of the season).

 

But the movie was probably started FAR before S5 and S6, and none of the posters have her on them. Do you think Starlight will be in the movie, or is there just going to be an awkward "Oh yeah, that new seventh member of your group? She's... uh, using the bathroom right now" excuse or something?

I think she'll have a couple scenes but not be a part of the Mane 6....At least I hope not. I like her and all, but I don't even like her being squeezed into the into next to the gals.

Well unless they kill her off or she betrays them (and I highly doubt either will happen), I don't see why not. Unless her story arc has her travel off on her own, but it really seems they want her to stick around in the show.

 

I hope we get prominent Starlight appearances in the movie. She makes for a much more interesting character than Sunset.

 

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Sunset, but lately she's been a "I'll solve the problem and do everything Twilight's already done" type character. Plus she doesn't have any character flaws, or at least not any obvious ones. In FG they portrayed her to be always right, even when she told Sci-Twi off.

 

At least with Starlight there are character flaws and she's not Twilight 2. Yeah, she's a super OP unicorn, but in terms of personality she's way more different from Twilight than Sunset ever was.

Sure, let’s introduce a random character into the mix that has nothing to do with Mane 6 (sans Twilight), sea ponies, pirates, or those random evil villains that will threaten to eat all the world’s muffins or whatever. This isn’t a comic book movie where you can stuff in a disturbing amount of important characters and expect it to work. Plus this little movie could very well become the first greater exposure to the MLP franchise for some of its watchers, and you want as much emphasis on Mane 6 who carry it on their backs. The rest should be reserved for interesting new characters made to add flavor and voice to the remaining parties. Frankly, the only other show related characters who should get a part in this movie are Spike (already part of Mane 6 and posters), Celestia and Luna (both very recognizable and important pony sovereigns). But what do I know.

I hope not. 

Seeing her as a sort of mane 7 in the group already feels a bit forced and unnatural, and if she were to appear in the movie, I feel like having 6 main characters, plus spike, plus the pirates, plus the seaponies, and any other characters such as the main antagonists and whether or not Celestia and Luna appear in the movie, is enough for the story.

If Starlight were to appear in the movie as well, the amount of time given to dedicate to characters would start to become cluttered, as there would be too many in the film.

Her being tethered to twilight so much has me have a little hope that she's just a "season 6" thing to grow twilight as a teacher, and she's going to be dismissed to a secondary character role after this season. Like, she's just there to get twilight to explore being a teacher, not to be a character in her own right.

 

That's just my hope though, and what i hope rarely comes true

Do I think she'll be in it? Probably not, mainly because the movie was started a while ago and I imagine that there's b en a bit of a disconnect between the people making the show and the people making the movie. Plus she's not in the cast list or any of the group shots we've seen.

 

Do I want her to be in it? Definitely. Starlight's an excellent character in my opinion, in fact she might be my new personal best pony.

Not sure, I feel that despite the hype, Starlight was kinda underused this season, so I'm not expecting she'll be important to the movie's plot. However, that might change in S7 and the movie

Well, there was also some backlash, so they had to treat lightly. As for her appearing in the movie, isn't it an EQG? If so, that's Sunset's domain. If Starlight does appear in an EQG, it might not be this one, as she'd still need some more fleshing out.

Nope, the big movie airing in theater's next year is all ponies.

 

 Starlight might be in it, but I sorta doubt she'll be one of the main characters. Side characters from the show like her, the CMC, Discord, and others will probably just get a short appearance at some point, with most of the focus being on the Mane six/Spike.

I assumed wrong indeed... Since I don't see Kelly Sheridan anywhere when looking for information about the movie though, I'll assume she won't be a part of it. At best a visual cameo, no line spoken.

I think her VA has been confirmed to not be in it, but she could still cameo in it, which is probably happen at least once.

I wondered if her, the CMCs and the princesses would appear in the Movie so I wanted to ask personalle to their VAs on Twitter, but nobody of them answered.... I'll take it as a yes (usually when writers/voice actirs are not involved in a production they say it straight (see when De Lancie said he wasn't involved in the Movie or when Larson and Haber said they weren't involved in the S7), if they didn't say something it might be because their NDA.... so, I think they'll be in the Movie, only with marginal roles (maybe just a the beginning and at the end of the Movie).

I suspect that this season will end with her leaving Ponyville, though hopefully coming back at the beginning of next season.  If she is in Ponyville during the movie, I think that it would be tough to justify her NOT going with Mane 6 to save Equestria.  Although she hasn't really integrated into the team all the way, she seems positioned to their best WEAPON in facing a magical threat.  I think that they're saving that for later in the series.  Although "To Where and Back Again" delved into how she can contribute as a leader, it expertly removed magic from the equation to do that.  When they have her present at a major magical threat again, I'm hoping that they'll delve into how she still needs to learn control over both her magic and her feelings.  Of course, I suppose the Mane 6 could choose not to get her involved in the movie simply because they don't want to bring a BOMB to a GUN FIGHT.  :-)

I would love to see her appear in a sequel.  Unfortunately, based on South Park and the Simpsons, even if this does well, I know not to get my hopes up.
