Is Pinkie Pie a Changeling?

PLEASE WATCH THE THEORY VIDEO BEFORE POSTING!!!!!!!!

My younger sister recently showed me this theory video that supports the idea of Pinkie Pie being a Changeling! After thinking about the points ConspiraPon3 addressed in the video, I'm pretty convinced that Pinkie Pie is actually a changeling. I’ll list the main points below. I really want to see what you all think about this theory. PLEASE WATCH THE THEORY VIDEO BEFORE POSTING!!!!!!!!

Main Points:

·         Super durable

·         Super fast

·         Super strong

·         Super flexible

·         Unnatural abilities for an Earth Pony

·         Knows a ton of things she shouldn’t know about

·         Extremely Accurate Memory

·         Can change her voice, appendages, and facial/body appearance

·         Contains an almost never ending amount of energy

·         Can eat tons of food and still be “hungry”

·         Obsessed with making ponies enjoy her company and love her actions

·         Deflates when she is sad or depressed

·         Is obviously hiding something

What we know about Changelings:

·         Changelings feed on love, so not physical food (explains why Queen Chrystalis, disguised as Princess Cadence throws away Apple Jack’s baking after tasting it, since she doesn’t feed on grown foods)

·         Changelings can alter their appearance and voice to match those of their victim

·         Changelings constantly need to be surrounded by loving creatures to survive (more love = more energy)

·         Changelings don’t have cutie marks

·         Changelings are in a sense a subspecies of Alicorns since they all have wings and horns

·         Changelings share insect like qualities (wings, eyes, torso, etc.)

·         Changelings have the ability to make a sticky cocoon like substance to trap victims/captives

·         Changelings are fast flyers

·         Changelings are strong and durable when coming in for landings

I understand there are probably a few missing pieces to this theory but I think it would be interesting for this theory to be true.

This might be a scary topic. If Pinkie Pie really WAS a Changeling, she wouldn't be meant to exist, and that would mean no more laughter, no more smiling, and worst yet, no more parties. Besides, she was born in a rock farm and was still a filly when she got her own cutie mark.

Star Trek did it. ;)

Also there is a very popular fanfic that tackles this concept with AJ, so nothing extraordinary about the idea in general.

They have been hinting at Changelings all season, and I've been pointing some of them out on here as I watch the new episodes. It would not be a stretch to say we recently witnessed a Pinkie Pie changeling ... that was dressed up as very funny gag. I do not believe that the real Pinkie is a changeling though. I think that any appearance by Celestia after the premier is highly suspect.

Also, just because two species shares similar characteristics does not mean one is a sub-species of another.

This is the only believable character that might be a changeling. The only question is...why would a changeling want to go through so much to be convincing.

Wouldn't you think that they would want to just blend in, not stand out? Pinkie Pie stands out like a sore thumb.

Plus... if she were, would her element of harmony still work? hmm.

Eh, I don't think so, not in the show anyway.  And it has nothing to do with those points listed, it'd just be a headache for the writing crew to add it in and get viewers to accept that she was a Changeling all along.  They expect us to accept Pinkie Pie's shenanigans because of cartoon logic, so it's acceptable that a character like her can exist in this world even if other ponies don't display her particular brand of capabilities.

Now that's not to say that you can't play around with the idea in fanfiction, you most certainly can.  I've seen it done most popularly in "Irony of Applejack" and "Advent of Applejack", but I've read a fic where Pinkie Pie was implied to be a Changeling as well which was also very good.  So go ahead and by all means do so.  Just don't ever expect something like that to become canon in the show for the reasons I listed above.

I am stupefied that someone would say that because Pinkie is basically deity hiding in plain site, or the fact that she is not 'normal' when compared to the rest of the mane 6 or everyone else when it comes to things concerning her feats ect, that she is somehow a changeling. A deity, a god, broken, sure, but why can the answer only just be a changeling? She isn't a changeling of any sort, or have anything in common with thrm. C'mon, that is silly. Sillyness.  :maud:

However. I will entertain the notion that she may have something common with changelings, possibly after all.

I've never been the one to dismiss the possibility that Pinkie possibly takes all those smiles and happiness she causes among all her friends, and uses it to fuel her powers. In short i wouldn't be surprised if she's basically a pony version of Superman or The Flash, but instead of getting her unexplainable powers from yellow stars or the Speed Force, she gets it from emotion of joy itself, from her own inner joy, and from those who she makes happy.

She is the element of laughter after all, making everyone jovial is her thing, so if she's secretly(whether by intent or by accident) absorbing the happiness around her, n' thus becoming more 'abnormal' to say the least, then, well, all i can say to that is "duh".  :maud:

It's an interesting idea from a theory standpoint, but not too much from a writing standpoint, since introducing that into the show would come out of nowhere. I mean, I would buy into it more if Pinkie had some kind of odd reaction when the changelings first appeared but she didn't.

What do you mean she wouldn't be meant to exist? The whole thing of her being born on a rock farm is something I'm still not completely convinced on. I mean she shares literally almost nothing in genetics or personality when it comes to her family. The only thing she does share is her "Pinkie Sense" which Maud claimed to have her own sense as well.

What you say is very true. I guess it is a long shot for Pinkie Pie to be a changeling. My main issue with the Changelings is why does everybody think Changelings must be evil? What if some just didn't want anything to do with Queen Chrystalis and just went off on their own... And good point about the changelings not being a sub-species. Just because they have a horn doesn't mean they have the same magic as alicorns do.

Maybe the changeling just wanted a different life. I feel like her element of harmony would still work as long as she upheld the elements magic. I do feel like Pinkie Pie does stand out, but in such a way that she and her strange ways have just become the norm.

Good point about all the loopholes the writers would have to go through. That would be extremely difficult. At this point I think it would be extremely cool if Pinkie Pie was a changeling but the odds don't look good for it being true.

I would literally destroy anything mlp related that i might own and want all those that time ive spent watching the show back if pinkie pie was a changeling

So you would judge Pinkie for being a changeling if she was or is? What if she had a good reason for hiding her true form and still upheld her element?

Let's just say I'm keeping a close eye on her. I know she is mainly for comic relief but I still feel like there is more to her that meets the eye, even if she isn't a changeling.

Yeah, Pinkie Pie's reaction was pretty relaxed when they were fighting the changelings. My original thought was what if she had become so used to living as a pony that she wasn't really effected by seeing her true species. But then again, with this theory the writers would have had to give her a huge backup story.

More like it would completely random and ridiculous. "Hi girls i never told you all this because i didnt know how you would all react but we have been through alot so here goes...im a changeling"

I always saw Pinkie as a being that transcends the laws of physics as ponies know it.  She has some kind of magic beyond ponies understanding, and they just sort of accept it.

Hmm. That is a very good way of looking at her.

A more valid theory is that Pinkie Pie has some draconequus blood in her.

I wouldn't say she's a changeling, due to her unknown knowledge and powers are a little to on-point to be explained by changeling magic (Unless we go into headcanon territory, and oh god plz no)

Not to mention her changing her body has no green flame to it. Remember, every changeling transformation, small or large, has the green flame envelop them, but with Pinkie it's either just there or off-camera. So those body deformities seem more like a cool party trick thing rather than changeling magic.

The best (and weirdest) theory is in Petriculture.  Pinkie is Twilight's imaginary friend.  When Twilight outgrew imaginary friends, Pinkie escaped to Ponyville.  That is why she was so freaked to see Twilight in episode 1.
