Rainbow Rocks>>Friendship Games>>Equestria Girls.

But than again I really enjoy all 3 movies and would gladly watch any one of them again.

I am really looking forward to seeing Legends of the Everfree.

1. Rainbow Rocks

Lean yet deceptively deep. Introduces Sunset Shimmer's redemption arc, has the Sirens, still boasts the best songs in EqG. Have seen it like seven times now and it still delights me.

2. Friendship Games

Unfocused but ambitious and entertaining. I wish a lot of superfluous elements were cut from this and it focused much more on character development rather than stuffing in so many plot threads, but in some ways this is actually more fun than Rainbow Rocks. If only it could fully realize its deeper ideas.

3. Equestria Girls

Pretty unexceptional but charming. This one isn't terrible, but it's probably the least inspired, and the satirical elements its fans cite don't really come through to me. I'd rather a quirky and earnest high school comedy than a relatively bland one like this, but I can't deny that it's still fun enough.

Rainbow Rocks > Friendship Games > EQG1

None of 'em are close to being good, but of the three, Rainbow Rocks has some level of both charm and effort put into it. Both Friendship Games and EQG1 have way too many layers of laziness and awful in them, especially the first.

I do not disagree with the ranking, but I did think that Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games were actually decent beyond entertainment value alone.  They weren't flawless, but they were actually good and worthwhile in many respects to me as well (though Friendship Games was far more flawed than Rainbow Rocks).  The first EQG can rot right alongside MMMMystery on the Friendship Express.

Just watched EQG:FG for the first time despite having seen the other numerous times. My ranking would go:

EQG:RR:>>>>EQG>>>EQG:FG.

Agreed here. RR>>>>>>EQG>>EQG:FG

Rainbow rocks is the ONLY one of the group that I'd define as legitimately "Good". It had nice songs (Welcome to the show is still probably the best song in the show IMO), a set of ENTERTAINING antagonists (love the dynamic between the 3, though I wish they'd had more scenes of Aria trying to be a starscream of the group like when she said to follow here lead at the cafeteria leading to Adagio putting her in her place), and the plot felt nice and organic.

There seemed to be more effort put into all of the six as well even if Sunset's redemption was a big aspect of the group, and there was more intercharacter focus as well.

8.5/10.

Equestria girls was a horrible mess of a movie, but I STILL think it was better than Friendship games. Friendship games had so many Plot tumors permeating its being that it looked like it lurched out of a Cancer ward, and the plot and characters were WEAK AS HELL. Cinch is a cliche evil bitch, the shadowbolts are Cardboard cutouts (Once more, the plot tumor aspect comes into play: From what it looks like they were meant to be more foils to the mane six as an anti-mane six, given the info about them on the websites/promo material and their recolor nature, but the writers wanted to focus on the Twilight plot instead, meaning they were completely pointless), and overall the plot just feels all over the place and without any real focus or heart. Adding in an over the top DBZ scene at the end won't cover that up. (Plus, not a big fan of having the other 5 constantly just acting as a glorified cheer squad/power batteries in plots).

Equestria girls had zero effort put into it and alot of problems (The other 5 were basically brain dead to fall for a text message plot, because they wanted to portray twilight as a messiah figure who fixes everything, and its hard to fix everything in 5 minutes if the villains plot is actually competent), but at least it was FOCUSED on what it wanted to do. FG was just a mess.

Honestly, after how bad FG was, I should have zero enthusiasm for Legends of everfree (especially since Haber will be writing again, and he's drastically inferior to McCarhty or Larson), but dangit, the art for the movie looks GOOD. I have a hard time getting pessimistic about the movie when I actually like the promo art, and this is a DRASTIC step up from Friendship games artwork. (God their outfits looked horrible :X)

Plus, it looks like they're trying to be more focused in this movie since we only have 1 new character introduced in the toyline, which makes me think we're not going to have everything scattered about like with FG

Rainbow Rocks > Friendship Games > Equestria Girls 1

I absolutely love Rainbow Rocks. The chemistry between the Dazzlings is great and I love their personalities, though I do wish we had more of Aria trying to be the boss of the gang. Really liked the songs as well, as well as the other characters. Plus, that movie made Sunset Shimmer go from my least liked character to my most liked one. :derp:

I liked Friendship Games more than EG1 because Sunset is the protagonist. Much as I like Twilight, I'd much rather see Sunset as the protagonist of the Equestria Girls franchise. If you took her out of the movie, FG and EG1 would probably be a tie for me. I don't have strong feelings for either of 'em, but I did enjoy them.

While not the info you are wanting, I have to say, these films have become a tradition for me. I really don't want to imagine a year going by without EQ.

RR stands as the pinnacle of the films, I honestly dont expect anyone to argue that, FACT.

FG on the other hand is very combo meal to me, sure you get the fries everyone loves (Sunset) you also get the milk shake that youve been thinking about all day (SciTwi) and to round it all out you have the big beefy burger that is Applejacks flank....WAIT! I ment the remane5 back again!...whew

Legend of Everfree would be definitely in fourth place. Certainly going to be a lot less hard on Friendship Games now, because it did so many things right which Everfree struggled with. Undercooked Twilight's apparent trauma, half-assed the superhero element, relegated a charming but problematic romance to the background, barely let the camp setting amount to anything, completely whiffed with the humour... this one was a total slog for m.e

Guess I'm going to have to break the trend and say that Legend of Everfree is my favourite of the four. I appreciate them going beyond the high-school setting, giving Flash some character development, everyone has new outfits, Sci-Twi going through a personal conflict stemming from what happened in the previous movie, and Sunset maturing even further especially how she helps Sci-Twi deal with her inner demons.

The humour to me was spot on although I'll admit that some of it stands out more than others. Is it a perfect movie? No as there are obvious flaws that hold it back, but I still view it as my favourite.

From there, the rest of my order is pretty much the order of release but in reverse.

Legend of Everfree then Friendship Games then Rainbow Rocks and finally Equestria Girls.

A list of my favorites starting with my favorite at number one.

  1. Rainbow rocks
  2. Friendship games
  3. the first one

I have a lot of hope for the new one, Legend of Everfree.
But I haven't seen it yet. I DIDN'T even know it was out yet!
How did I NOT know. Well at least I know now after reading some of these posts.

Needless to say, I am downloading it, even now as I type, from Kiss Cartoon.
I'll be forming an opinion of it by the end of the evening.

Rainbow Rocks>Legend of Everfree>Friendship Games>EQG

Was tempting to put LoE as number 1 because it seems like that was where they finally know where to take the series
