I want to see an earthpony and a pegasus wedding, maybe a cake wedding flashback?

They probably wear them on thier hooves but I think they also probably take them off after the ceremony. They would just be to awkward to wear all the time. Kinda like thier clothes.

I kinda have thought about this, after the episode. Maybe earth ponies and Pegasus have other ways to show the sign of marriage. I don't think Pegasus wear anything on their wings. It would mess up their flying and an earth pony ring would be huge. Maybe they don't even ware rings and it's just a unicorn thing. Still it's hard to say.

in a caste system like Equestria's society. I wouldn't be surprised if no one in Equestria but unicorns could get married in the technical sense. Why? well from a social point of view unicorn marriages means shifts in political power. They're the only marriages that matters to Equestria.

 

While marriages of other races aren't symbolised by rings. They're merely committed with an oath and ceremony with witnesses.

I kinda question why they have "rings" to begin with, it's not like they ever had fingers like we do XD. I get it's just a show and all, but I guess as long as we're asking. That aside, maybe the pegasi and earth ponies have different customs or something, like not using a ring, but like braclets like someone suggested, or possibly nothing at all.

I highly doubt they'd keep rings on their horns at all times, much the same as humans do with one of their fingers. It'd become a pain in the ass for the show artists to keep up with, and it'd just not serve it's purpose after a while. Honestly, I don't even see something like a hoof band becoming used. I think there was the ceremony, the rings ritual, and from now on the way we know they're married is by how they interact with one another.

I just want to say no way would a pegasus deign to have a ring on their wings even for the ceremony. I say this because it would imbalance their flight which is something of a big no-no.

Maybe only unicorns can have wedding rings and every pony else just has a wedding with out a ring, because it is more formal for unicorns to where rings. But that seams unfair for the other ponies and nothing can be unfair in Ponyvill!

I don't think that ponies wear their wedding rings everyday or anything like humans wear their wedding rings. They don't even use their fingers much. Plus I think anywhere they put it would be a hassle. So maybe they only wear it to be symbolic or maybe special occasions.

Watching "A Canterlot Wedding." Parts 1 and 2 made me curious. If ponies who arent Unicorns, like say, the Cakes, for example, gets married, where would the rings go since they don't have horns?

If they did, we'd see rings appearing somewhere on other pony couples who are already married, however, we do not. I think it's safe to assume they do not have them at all.

 

Maybe they have The Ring 2 though.

If they did have such a thing, it would be considered an Anklet and the entire point of it would be rendered moot in calling it a ring.

Perhaps Earth ponies and Pegasi have different sort of items to represent their union that we just never see. After all, we don't see rings on any Unicorn couples either, even though we know during the wedding it goes on their horns, not to mention Cadance and Shining Armor don't wear their rings anymore. For example, perhaps Earth ponies have necklaces or something?

 

Oh well, guess we don't know for right now.

 

Or perhaps Earth ponies and Pegasi give each other copies of The Ring 2 like you said. If so...

I was kindof thinking that maybe earth ponies wore them on their hooves or wore something around their neck or in their hair to put them on, and perhaps pegasi wore them one one of the longer feathers on their wings. The unicorn pomies have a legitimate reason for not wearing their rings on their horns 24/7 as doing certain magic spells could ultimately destroy or ruin them. I do love the idea of the necklaces though. And its possible. I don't know of any married pegasi, and you can't see mr and mrs cakes chests to see if they have anecklace their either.

I think that as there really isn't any kind of place for them, Pegasi and Earthies never adopted that particular tradition. One fanfic that I read a long time ago had the idea of special earrings, and I like that as an alternative. Perhaps future episodes will elaborate.

Unicorns, the rings go on their horns

Pegasi, the rings go on one of their feathers (They look pretty solid)

Earth ponies wear them as a necklace.

And they don't wear them all the time, they keep them in their sock drawer at home. The only explanation that I can think of.
