I find this to be true! I can cross the Royal Sisters episode off the bucket list, and Starlight is really proving to be pretty awesome at what she does! Twilight has taught her well! Yunno, Starlight seems to be getting an episode with a ton of side characters lately! Who's next? The Apple family? Sassy Saddles? Coco? The CMCs? Spike?! I really hope those last two!

This is like one of the most wanted episodes combined with some of the fandoms biggest complaints

The Royal Sisters are finally getting an episode, but it's also about Starlight instead of Twilight, and it's another instance of Starlight using magic to fix things but end up making it worse :P

Inb4 "Starlight still hasn't learned anything" comments surface.

If this if true, I am going to be a happy Jeric. The moral behind walking in another's shoes is one the show hasn't directly addressed (though it has made a few glancing blows at times).

I've actually pulled the same thing on my kids about two years ago with switching their chores because they both thought the other had it too easy. Spoiler alert, they changed their view.

Right? If the episode is good overall, I shall relish in their disatisfaction.

Also, I wonder if SStB's unfinished spell will be dusted off again.

Starlight has been the highlight thus far, and it's nice to see her interacting with those outside of Twilight, Spike, & co. I see plenty of potential here. :)

I'm a little concerned about this one, not just with Starlight for obvious reasons, but more so Celestia and Luna. In FF#38, neither of them could get along at all to the point of being petty, annoying, and unlikeable. (Sure, SoL had them bicker, but they quickly made up.) Hopefully, the Celly/Luna tandem doesn't go that far.

*groooooooaaan* oh for bucking's sake. Can we just admit that Starlight won't learn? Supposedly reformed, she forces Big Mac to talk, with magic. One no-no. She mind controls and uses all of her "friends" with magic, and doesn't see the wrong that she did, without being TOLD she's in the wrong. HUGE no-no. And now this bullspit, switching the Princess' cutie marks, after learning that using magic to solve problems is WRONG (and after the s6 finale, where she had to solve a problem without reliance on magic)? where the bloody buck does it stop?

Twilight needs to up and straight up tell Starlight Gutter that this shit needs to stop, like she told Flurry. And it DOES need to stop. Either Starlight stops doing this crap, or she gtfo of everypony's life. This magic abuse aint' flying

I am just return from Equestria Daily comment section of this rumors, what a terrifying experience xD

For seriousness, i dont know whether i should be happy or not. 56% of me want it to be true, 44% of me hope it is just a non-Starlight episode. I love Starlight and i definitely want to see more of her, but the broken base Is getting worse, if this synopsis is true, more fuel to the fire ;(.

They could let Twilight do the mission instead, we will got a great episode and no one get mad, right?

If i didnt give a damn about fanbase stuffs, i wouldnt need to have that stupid concerns...

Is Starlight becoming a creator's pet?  and i should feel guilty for want to see her more than the mane 6?

Besides, i think that this can be a good lesson about seeing considering the problems of others. Luna was never in Celestias shoes and Luna never in Celestias. Maybe switching the jobs around might be a great idea for them both.

Sunbutt had to raise the moon for 1000 years after Luna was gone. She also had to keep Equestria safe from monsters- which is what Luna does in the comics. How would this episode address anything that hasn't been done?

Maybe for the casual audience, that dosen't give a fuck about the lore or the comics?

If this is true, then it's not exactly the Celestia/Luna episode I was hoping for. I want alicorn lore! :P But I'm always glad to see more Starlight. We haven't seen much interaction between her and the royalty in Canterlot. Plus, I see an opportunity for some nice sibling rivalry humor.

Sounds like a fun time. Celestia/Luna episode? Hype. Starlight Glimmer also in episode? Extra Hype with fries. Half the fanbase will probably hate this episode no matter how it turns out because Starlight's in it, but if I enjoy the episode I don't really care.

Image seems broken for me, but if what people are saying is true, then this could be an episode I have wanted for a long time and it will jump up to the top of my hype list. Apparently Starlight will be involved, but I am okay with that if they show her in the same light as episode 3. For me, she is kinda hit and miss. Still, looking forward to this now, if it is true.

Maybe if everyone quit dooming and glooming and speculating on how awful this episode will be, they just hush and cross that bridge when they get there? I mean it is a blurb is all. It could easily be the best episode of the season. I can understand the trepidation, since after all I was not looking forward to A Flurry of Emotions.... but I still just decided to wait and see and decide when i saw it... so I can relate and do understand it. Everyone has been hoping for a good Celestia episode for who knows how long... and the fear Starlight will mess it up is probably a big one. But just relax... deep breathes.... let it happen and see how it goes before you find the nearest cliff.

And that is my exact annoyance with the fandom... I can accept people disliking or hell even hating an episode, since there are episodes I dislike as much as the next person... but all some get is a sentence, and they are already frothing at the mouth and looking for a rope to hang themselves with. They build up all this expectation of hate and anger, and then when the episode airs, all they do is sit there and hate it... NO MATTER WHAT! It is like they have some obligation to fulfill....

"OH shit! I have been hating this episode for 4 weeks now.. and it is not that bad... crap... gotta save dignity! Better go online and tell everyone and their cousins how much I hated it!"

You spend all this time just building up hatred for something without even giving it any sort of chance whatsoever... and no duh you are going to hate it. You made yourself hate it. It is not the shows fault you put that upon yourself... it is yours. Now if you go into it with a neutral frame of mind and it does not work for you and you dislike it or find it dull or whatever... do be it. You can't win them all.

That being said, like others I have hope for this episode, but I really hope the focus is on Celestia and Luna and not Starlight.. I don't mind her being in it, and helping solve the problem, but I really want to see them dealing with their issues and learning more about each other than anything. If the episode is her swapping their marks, and then vanishing while they do their things, and returning at the end to fix it all.. i am OK with that. However if the episode is about her fretting and losing it because of a mistake and with them getting little screen time, I can see it spiraling out of control. I'll have to wait and see I guess.

you're in the wrong for automatically passing judgement on the people who dislike Starlight just because she's in the episode, just as they are in the wrong just because she is. It's what she DOES that pisses people off time and again. Also, yeah- for some people, it is the fact that she's in the episode. But then again, she's been in in a LOT of episodes a Little too dang much.  And maybe that's why people hone in to hate her. She's being pushed too much, and the writers aren't giving people a reason to LIKE her, when she abuses magic like she has been. Or when she's in the episode unnecessarily, and could just as easily be replaced by somepony else. So before you pass judgement on how people react to her, maybe try to understand WHY they react the way they do.

Yanno, it's pretty damn hard NOT to, given her track record, and the sypnosis of what she's GOING to do.

When did I pass judgement on anyone? I said what I felt about the episode, which is that I'm excited for it, and that I don't particularly care how other people react to Starlight being there as long as I enjoy the episode.

You want me to understand the reasons? "She's too OP, too similar to Twilight/Sunset, her redemption was too fast, in too many episodes, she abuses her magic too fast, takes away the spotlight from other characters, her backstory sucks." I've heard every reason, and with a lot of them I don't agree. These complaints aren't necessarily wrong and the people who bring them up have some good points, but I like Starlight. I feel like I've been given more than enough reason to not just like her, but adore her.

Also, she hasn't been in that many episodes. She was literally in just 8 episodes in Season 6, and one of those "The Times are a Changeling" she barely did anything at all, except get a few lines and look sympathetic to Thorax. If anything I feel she should have been in that season more. So far she's been in only 3 of 4 episodes, and while this says she's in episode 10, we have no idea if she'll be in any of the episodes from now to then. Maybe she could be easily replaced by somepony else, or maybe not, we don't know yet. Maybe there's a very good reason Starlight was picked.

So, I understand why people who don't like Starlight don't like her perfectly fine, but I do like her. You can complain about her all you want, you're entitled to your opinion and you're allowed to voice it, but so am I, and I'm happy to see Current Best Pony in another new episode.

Okay, finally getting a royal sisters episode is definitely exciting.

However the part about Starlight is a bit worrying.

I am hoping it isn't another case of Every Little Thing She Does, where Starlight mind rapes ponies and strips them of their free will for the third time after being reformed.

I don't really count All Bottled Up as that was accidental, and I felt like she actually had to face consequences for her actions in that case.

So far the season has been okay with Starlight, and might be starting to warm me up to her, but this could be another black mark on her character.

I hope the episode involves the sisters saying that the other doesn't understand what it is like to deal with the other's duty and that they agree to have their cutie marks swapped, so they can try the different task and see if they can do it better.

That is a whole lot of BS there. ^_^

First you have no idea what she is going to do. You are just assuming. Like I notice a lot of people doing. maybe she will and maybe she won't. Her using magic is not a crime... especially if she is using it for the right reasons. Wanna know what those reasons are? Watch the episode and find out. Oh wait.. can't do that!!!! Gotta assume it is because she is pure evil and out to destroy the world! That damn tyrant.. you're right.. i hate her to now!

Second, what the hell are you talking about? Like seriously? What has she done this season that i so out of control and monstrous? You were screaming in another thread she was being OP and evil for flying a kite. The audacity of her for daring to do something she enjoys! She has attended a dinner and got an award, she has used her magic to bottle up her anger because she could not bring herself to tell Trixie she was being a bitch, she flew kites with Maud and told Pinkie she was being a pest..

Spoiler

and she helped build a critter sanctuary in the background

And since then I have seen a couple people, yourself included keeping talking about she has not learned anything or she is still too OP or some other pure nonsensical crap. Face it, you hate her and nothing they do with her will make you happy until she is gone, which is not going to happen for the foreseeable future. So instead of disliking episodes for what they are or are not, you just rant about how much she is ruining the show for you. Well, OK... I can't make you like her, nor do i desire to... but the fact is, she has done virtually nothing this season and you are still heaping on her as if she has taken control of it. That is not discontent with an episode... that is blind obsessive hatred. She has hardly been pushed into our faces, instead she is being made an actual member of the cast, exactly as the fandom has being saying she needed if they want us to take her seriously! She has had exactly ONE episode this season that is truly about her... one. That's it. She is a supporting character in two others... yet somehow that equals she is being forced upon us.

No, she is being forced upon you because you choose to see it that way. Nothing anyone can do about that but you.

It is very easy to pass judgement on people when they rant and rave like this, because it is just pure silly. It looks silly, it sounds silly, and it is silly. If you still want to complain about S6.. go ahead.. but that was S6... this is S7. Stop living negatively in the past and try to look positively towards the future. When she blows up an episode, then you can complain about it.

At this point I want Starlight to be in every episode just to laugh at her more uhhh dedicated haters.

Anyway, if it's a Cutie Marks being switched up plot, Starlight makes sense she has the most experience with Cutie Mark magic, Twilight did it once but it was entirely by accident and it also kinda messed up her friends heads too.

I'm thinking about buying a "Starlight Glimmer is Best Pony" tee to wear just for this episode. After the reaction to this synopsis, I wonder what will happen if this becomes a reality this season.

If that happened window installers will be the real winners from all of the people hurling themselves through them.

I do think they have some sort of plan for her, but for some reason I don't think Alicorn is one of them though. It would echo what has come before too much and I think they want to try some new ideas. But who knows?
