Interest in FiM now vs. When you joined MLPF

Simple question - how does your level of interest in the show now compare to when you first joined the forum? If it has changed drastically, is there a particular reason?

While I'm slightly less zealous than I was 3+ years ago, I still watch every new episode the same day it airs (or becomes available) and enjoy rewatching old episodes and songs. The recent seasons have been some of my favorites so my interest hasn't diminished much at all.

Pretty much this. I used to be all over what was going on in the fandom, until my favorite animations, videos, songs, etc., got to be stale and repetitive.

Nowadays, I take long breaks from fandom activity (like, 2-3 months) so that when I decide to dive in again, things feel fresh and new.

When I joined these forums season 2 was over and to be honest while I liked following the show, it wasn't one of my favorites.

It wasn't until Magical Mystery Cure when it turned into one of my favorite cartoons.

So I guess I am more invested it now than when I joined MLP Forums.

I used to watch the show when I joined almost obsessively, but now I don't really ever watch it, so...

I'm much less interested in the show than I was four days after release of the first EQG movie (that's around the time I joined the forums).

Well, I think the magic of discovery, like characters, the world, the lore, and the fandom is pretty much gone. Interest itself, I don't think it diminished, as I WANT TO GET MY REST OF THE SEASON RIGHT NOW . Yeah, I don't really watch much else :fluttershy:

It's gone down from my initial interests since I first joined the forums. Everything gets stale and repetitive after awhile. I like to take breaks so that I can take my mind off Pony and focus on other things.

Nothing has really changed for me, apart from increased interest in fan works. I was greatly interested a year ago and my interest certainly hasn't waned since then.

Interest was really waning around S6. As much as I've been liking S7 I've been finding myself wanting to skip a lot of the episodes(though considering a lot of the worst sounding episodes I ended up loving, it gives me hope for the second half)

I became instantly fan at the beginning of season 2. I've been watching or re-watching one episode per week since then (still today, five years in a row!).

But as I preferred to watch French version first then, I always was one year late. Never watching the same season as the others.

For three years, between 2012 and 2015 if I recall, I used to spend one hour on Equestria Daily and another one reading fanfics everyday. It was a crazy period. ^_^

Well at that time, I was never catching the season currently on air, I was spending 2 hours for ponies per day, and I didn't have any merchandise aside comics.

Today, I watch episodes in English first so I currently watch the actual season. But I don't spend as much time as before reading ponies. 6 plushies of strange mares appeared in my room too. Even if my interest dropped a bit, I still consider myself a brony and still like the show as much. =)

I've been sucked into the fandom since I joined the fandom

My interest isn't quite as high as it was when I joined here, mainly because my interest was massive at that time and I dedicated a lot of time to it, whereas now my mind tends to be all over the place and scattered among my different interests. Makes it hard to focus on just one thing for an extended period of time. I still love the show though, of course.

I was a pretty big fan back then, the fandom was very lively as well... Now a day I still consider myself a fan, but I never have time to sit back and watch MLP like I did as a kid. I don't even remember where I had left off before I stopped watching. So my interest has declined, but not by a whole lot.

It's still somewhere there. I sometimes lose interest and leave for a couple weeks or even months, then come back. Been like that for about 4 years. I can say that my interest is still pretty close at the moment to what it used to be back then, though.

I became a fan after watching the pilot episodes back in December of 2013 - it wasn't until June of 2014 when I found these forums. Anyway, I have to say that I was very lucky to find the show when I did. It was my Freshman year of college, basically near the end of the first semester, before the start of the second. I didn't know it beforehand, but I had a void within me that would have definitely caused me a lot more emotional turmoil than mere homesickness did when I was a Fresh/Soph in college. Becoming a fan, and becoming a part of the community here on the forums has made my life tremendously better.

When it comes to my fandom levels, I can definitely say that I hit the ground fucking running, because as soon as I watched the pilots I was hooked on the show like a construction worker snorts blow. I used to watch hours and hours of the show each day. I stopped counting a long ass time ago, but if I were to guess, I'd say I've seen Seasons 1-3 about 9 or 10 times, Season 4 about 7 or 8 times, Season 5 about 6 or 7 times, and Season 6 maybe 4 or 5 times (and Season 7 once - at least in terms of the episodes that are out as of this edit).

My friend slowly got me into anime in Autumn of 2015, and by Spring of 2016 I was pretty much weebing out full throttle. Which worked out great, as that was around the time I was beginning to need a break from binge watching MLP.

My love for MLP hasn't dwindled, but the almost spiritual connection I used to have with the show is now but a bittersweet, pseudo-nostalgic memory. And that's to be expected. That isn't to say I don't feel as giddy as a puppy chasing ducks by the pond when I watch new episodes - I do - but, I don't revolve my life around the show like I did in 2014 and 2015... I was obsessed to core back then.

I only joined MLP Forums a little over a year ago so I haven't changed much in that amount of time. I used to be into the show a lot more back in 2013 when I first discovered it, but a lot of that settled into a more relaxed and less fanatical sort of thing before I ever came here. I still love MLP but I spent my initial forays into the fandom on EqF and left a lot of my enthusiasm there. Now I just kind of relax and take each episode as it comes without counting every intervening minute. The honeymoon is over and now It's just nice to have MLP as a stable and enjoyable factor in my life.

The show is still the same for me. An enjoyable pastime and a fun cartoon show.  It is no longer the new and fascinating show I discovered a couple years ago, but my overall enjoyment of it has not waned.

It's probably not as strong as it was when I first joined this place in 2013, I don't go back to old episodes as much and I'm not into fan stuff as much as I used to be.

I still enjoy the show, it just doesn't take up a large part of my life anymore.

matured is the word I would use. Used to be VERY into the fandom and pretty much a Pinkie Pie personality about it and meeting new people and going to cons. But now a days, (since the exile from my old friend group) Ive just chilled out. The show will throw elements to make me hyper again (anything of Soarin and Dashie's parents episode), but im not eagerly watching the stream countdowns till the start of the next episode.

If anything Ive started to forget when they are on and end up watching the episode during the week after work. Ponies are still a big part of life online and at home, but Den and I have been enjoying a normal life away from fandoms.
