FemaleIntrovert1995 138 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 I was born in the year 1995. I consider myself an early 2000's kid, but people insist that I'm a 90's kid. I don't remember anything about the 90's, since I was a toddler during the 90's. What do you guys think? Also, what is so special about being a 90's kid!?

Will Guide 21,360 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 (edited) I was born yesterday 27 years ago. The 90's is literally my childhood. The 00's were my teen years and early adult years in middle and high school! As a Disney fan, the early 90's was a well-known period of Renaisance to the Disney Animated Films from the Little Mermaid in '89 to The Lion King in '94. Many mainstream audiences debate that from Pocahontas in '95 through the rest of the 90's with Tarzan in '99, things went downhill, but several 90's kids like me still have some respect for the less than steller Disney Animated films of the mid-late 90's. Well, those are my thoughts on the 90's...for now! Envy 6,169 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 Lol. I remember there was someone who tried to say because I was born in the 80s (just barely, and he knew that), I'm an "80s kid" and that me not liking 80s music is blasphemous. I don't even know what a "90s kid" is. I was too young during the majority of the 90s to even remember it. My best memories come from the early to mid 2000s, to be honest. I don't really identify as a "90s kid". 1 Everything needs more woodwind!
Dreambiscuit 9,819 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 I guess it's all in what you're nostalgic for. I liked my '90s years better than my time in the 2000s. There was less technology and it seemed a little more accessible. It doesn't really matter what decade you were born in if you had your prime years in a different decade. The prime years are the decade you're a child of, that's how I look at it. I would have loved to have been born in the '80s or most other decades but I sadly wasn't around to witness them first hand. I'd almost consider myself more of an '80s child just because I have an affinity for that decade, but technically I'd have to have been there in person (or am I wrong?)
Snow Frostflame 3,568 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 I was born in '97 so the 90s have little to no significance to me... I would love to of grown up in the 90s just to see what it was like. Though from what I understand it was kinda similar to the early 2000s.
Prospekt 11,018 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 I'm a weird example of a 90s kid. I was born in 1998, but much of my taste in music is stuck in the 90s and I have always been fond of 90s movies and TV. Most people would probably consider me a millennial rather than a 90s kid, but still. I feel stuck in between the two labels. Starshine 16,334 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 At this point being a 90's kid is just yet another "meme" going around the internet, so to speak. It's really the time where so many new technologies and pop culture stuff popping all over the place available for everyone, it's somewhat understandable that some latched so much to what they remember the most from their childhood Can't wait to see all the hype to die down at last

Nerdy Luigi 2,065 August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 In a way I am a 90's kid, but I was only 2 when 2000 hit. I was a little bit behind on consoles when I was a kid, I had a Nintendo 64 for a while, and I got to play a few of the really good titles for it, like Star Fox 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and DK64. (I did get to play Goldeneye and Smash 64, though I find both to be overrated to some degree). I also got to play plenty of first gen Pokémon (Pokémon Red was one of the first games I ever played, though I think the first was Smash 64). There was also had a tape with the first six Treehouse of Horror Simpsons episodes, that I remember watching for Halloween for a few years. As well, I got to watch plenty of Rugrats and Ren and Stimpy reruns. I really enjoyed them. (I'm also playing Super Mario RPG music as I'm typing this. Great game, got to play some as a kid as well on an old Super Nintendo). Though I really don't understand the craze.
Yakamaru 3,127 August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 I was born in 1989, so I am literally and 80's kid, despite only like, experiencing 8 months of it in my infancy. I grew up in the 90's and 2000's, but it's been after 2005 that I truly started to grow as an actual person and individual. “Discovery is dangerous . . . but so is life. Leave a Whisper 703 August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 (edited) Born in 1983. I was an 80s/90s child. I got the best of both in cartoons and Nickelodeon ruled the roost. Kids and teens fashions were a little over the top and sometimes embarrassing, (gotta love babydoll dresses with combat boots bleck!) Music was good, people weren't over the top pc and used common sense, it was a bit more polluted unfortunately, people were taking stronger stands for a healthier environment and PSAs were everywhere. Rainbow Cloud 17,993 August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 I'd say I was a 90's kid as although I was born in 1989 my childhood was during the 1990's and I was too young to have any memory of the 80's.
Victoria Sponge 1,017 August 5, 2017 Share August 5, 2017 I'm a 90s baby, only lived in the 90s for 2 years. A lot of stuff from the 90s carried over into the 2000s though so I can relate to 90s kids a lot and I don't consider myself completely separate from the 90s kids group. RavenholmZombie 1,330 October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 I was born in 1995, so I could count myself as a 90's kid since I got to experience to latter-half of the 1990's. However, I didn't really get to experience a lot of what the 90's had to offer until at least 1998-2000 since I was still quite young. Here's some examples: My first game console was a Nintendo 64 and I remember playing Mario Kart 64 the most. My first computer, which I got in 2000, ran Windows 98 SE, it was going to be thrown out but my parents got it since it still worked. I remember the nightmare of trying to use Dial-up. We didn't have AOL, we had PeoplePC and it was awful. I grew up watching Nicktoons and Cartoon Network (Rocko's Modern Life and Dexter's Laboratory to name a few) I remember being more excited about the toy that came in my Happy Meal than I was about the actual food. SolarFlare13 16,099 October 21, 2017 Share October 21, 2017 (edited) I'm a VERY late 90's kid and what's special about it is that you grew up in a time where TV shows were fun. Back then, you used to have shows like Dragonball Z, Pokemon and Sailor Moon (I also watched the original Yu-Gi-Oh series and Astro Boy in the 2000's) . Now when you look at all the cartoons kids watch these days, they've got SO MUCH censorship over them and they're SO crap in comparison. Also, video games were A LOT more fun and memorable than now You either had to play through the game BLIND or go to the game store and buy yourself a guide-book if you needed some help... ...and you had to invite your friends over if you wanted to do multi-player and that creates A LOT of fond memories :3 (unlike now where you can simply hop onto a PC / X-box and you can chat to your friends online) ...and I loved how simple things were back then. The amount of technology is too hard to keep up with these days (...and this is why I HATE stuff like I-phones, Modern Music, MOST PC games, Online Connectivity, websites like Facebook and all that kind of junk...) Seriously, I've got MORE complaints about the 2010's than the 2000's and the 90's I remember playing games like Banjo Kazooie, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap, Mario Tennis 64, Mario Kart 64 (which I still say is THE best Mario Kart EVER made), The original Super Smash Bros, Majora's Mask and Ocarina Of Time on the Nintendo 64 :3 ...and the video tapes!!! O_O OMG!!! They are SO much better than DVD's!!! Honestly, the trends these days suck. Invincible 2,091 October 22, 2017 Share October 22, 2017 I think the ideas is that growing up in the 90s you've had some fond memories of the decade and can relate to some of them when discussed. I was born in 1990, so I'd say I'm a 90s kid in that regard. It really depends on how much you have memories of that era. 1 My OCs for Roleplay purposes: o Lit Fuse (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lit-fuse-r6608) o Dust Devil (http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/dust-devil-r7357)

BlueStreak98 828 November 12, 2017 Share November 12, 2017 I think in order to be a "90s kid" you have to actually be old enough to remember things that happened in the decade prior to 1999. For example, if you remember when Disney Channel added commercials, you're a 90s kid. 1 "I still believe that peace and plenty and happiness can be worked out some way. This is the way I see it too. It's not so much about when you were born but what you have experienced. I was born in 1992 and consider myself both a 90s and a 00s kid (I prefer the former label, though). I have a lot of nostalgic memories from both decades. The music that makes me feel nostalgic is mostly from the late 90s, but I can remember the cartoons from the early 00s better. It's mostly subjective. Of course, some might argue that I'm not really a 90s kid, as I can't remember the first half of that decade, but I wasn't a kid in the second half of the 00s anymore, so I think it evens out. Those articles and memes about what you have to remember to be part of a specific generation are pretty pointless, though. It depends so much on where you came from – many of the things mentioned in those articles might not have been as popular in a different area. 3 Signature by @Sparklefan1234
