Yes I also to want spike to be a pony an alicorn to be exact. Fluttershy has grown so much and received great characters development to the point that you can’t even consider her the same as the first 4 seasons she’s not asShy or scared anymore I just have one question for you do you hate starlight cause that would make me rage if you talk bad about her with fluttershy im keeping my calm thou.

I do know some people who can't stand Starlight, it's a thing for every single character, I bet some bronies hate Discord for example, while the majority loves him. I, for one, do consider Starlight an awesome pony though

All of the Mane Six have their flaws and for me it heavily depends on the writer whether or not they bother me. In Season Eight, I really don't like where they're heading with Twilight for the most part (although Friendship University did a better job), but she remains one of my favorite ponies. For the others, they've all gone through a lot of character development and the times that bother me are usually the times when the writers for whatever reason feel the need to reiterate a lesson learned before. I still don't hate any of them, though. The only pony thus far who I actually hate is Chancellor Neighsay.

I hate the mane 6 too, I hate seeing how the show focuses too much on them despite being the lead characters and written around them. Why can't they focus on some random ass background characters that only some old guys on the internet with way too much time on their hands care about?

Sarcasm, right?

So, you like perfect characters? Than you also like a show with no development, and a show where nothing interesting happens... You need to have flaws in order to get the show going. I agree the show could have a bit more development, like Avatar the last airbender.

I just hate what writers did with Mane6 and Discord THIS season

Yes, Discord in season 7 was almost there, but now he was back at season 5...

Seems pretty pointless to keep on watching a show if you hate all of the main characters.

I know right... :-D But maybe the other characters drive the show forward for them.

If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. And sometimes I write the wrong words, like week and weak for example. Sorry for it already. :smug:

Discord, Twilight, Sunset, Fluttershy, Starlight, Rarity, Luna, Celestia, Big MCintosh, Cadence, Shining, Minuette, Lyra, Rara, Sweetie Belle, Cheerilee, Derpy, Spike.

Spoiler alert: I don't

To say you hate the mane six is to say you hate the show overall in my opinion. Hating the ponies with the most important roles in the show kind of defeats the purpose of even enjoying the show.

Ponies or humans, flaws are what give us personality. Nobody can really escape them. Each of their Mane 6's flaws contribute to what makes them unique. If each character faced the exact same problems, it would defeat the purpose of having multiple characters in the first place.Twilight being afraid of Quesadillas was more of a throwaway gag and I doubt the show would really explore that any more - although I would be interested in seeing Twilight facing her fear of it.

I don't feel the same way as you, but I respect your opinion.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

She is shy and afraid but also shows she can be brave when it counts

She is brash but rarely picks fights with anyone that is not a threat or bad guy. Even then its generally because she just wants to get it done not take chances that her friends are at risk

Yes she is an artistic savant so she has a flair for drama and is a bit prissy. And that is in no way a typical. Further manipulates? She is cute and uses it to get favors. No pony has to do it for her. They CHOOSE to. She does not threaten or use magic. She literally asks while flirting. That happens IRL and men do favors for pretty girls all the time.

So she is scatter brained? She also makes it her mission in life to make people happy. People with high energy tend to go a mile a minute. I know really smart people like her and they can be frustraiting when you cant keep up but that is not their fault.

She is a highly organized person who hates when plans go wrong. Like myself. I literally get her because her brain works like mine plans for it all and when it goes wrong stress can go off the charts.

You mean the greedy child that messes things up and hides them? The one that wants to impress the same pony you dislike?

In short they all have flaws but so do people. Are they exaggerated for comedic impact? Yup but so what? Do you want them to be perfect? Get nothing wrong? Are people not drama queens irl? Are people not high energy and scatterbrained irl? Are there people who are driven mad by the lack of a plan irl? The answer is yes. So why is it an issue that they exist in the heroines of MLP?

You mean she started a school to teach what made her powerful like Celestia started a school for ponies gifted in magic like herself? The student is imitating their beloved teacher? Why is that surprising?

You mean the greedy child that messes things up and hides them?

HahaHaha no the poor child who gets yelled at by twilight and nearly injured by her just because he tells her to calm down over one of her exams

How can one enjoy the show if they hate all of the main characters?   I’m puzzled by that, but that’s just me.

I love the characters, they’re what hooked me to the show in the first place.

If there’s a character I can say I even come close to hating, it’s Rarity, but I don’t even hate her.

I’m gonna go with @TheTaZe and @AppleButt on this one. Hating all the main characters is basically saying you hate the show...I mean, think about it. I can’t think of one episode that’s not focused on at least one of the mane 6 besides Slice of Life, or the Student 6 episodes (which there was very few of). I know people have all their own opinions on characters though, so I’m not saying you aren’t allowed to hate on the main characters, it’s just odd. To me. Lol.

I for one love all the mane 6.

I think some people like the show due to the wide diversity and character of ponies. I must say that a lot of the background ponies should have got more time in the spotlight, so it is justifiable if I hate the main 6 just cause they took up all of the spotlight.

I don't hate mane six, but I can't say I like them, because I'd be lying, I just don't like their relationship as a group, neither of them is close to being my 'favorite pony'. But that does not mean that there are no moments that I enjoy the show.

It must be difficult to enjoy a show where you dislike all of the main characters. Well, at least it would be difficult for me - if I dislike the main characters of a show etc then I do not care about their story either.

Alright, let me form my very well thought out- REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :glimmer:

Don't worry, I'm only kidding :derp:

Really though, I have to agree with what ponies like @Cash In had to say, about how the mane 6's flaws actually gives the characters themselves more depth and personality. Isn't that the whole point of having good characters in media? To be able to create a character that has their strengths, but also has their weaknesses. And through the course of whatever media it may be (like a book or a TV show) that character will triumph their strengths and build on their skills, but also face tests on their weaknesses and endure through situations that requires them to, ya know, build up their weaknesses into new strengths or learn to cope with them appropriately if they did not do so before. I think isn't that what the difference is between a flat, static character and a round, dynamic character? The fact that Fluttershy had the imperfection of being very shy was interesting to her character because it was fun to cheer her on in the episodes where she is trying to conquer that weakness and make herself a better pony, and to see her progress that goal as the show goes on. That's what good character progression is. You don't want to start out with super perfect characters because then there's less room for interesting stores to be told using those characters because there's nothing that they would need to learn. There would be no major character progression, and the story would be a lot duller because of it. Some of the most interesting characters in the media are the ones that have dynamic traits to them, the round characters that grow through their experiences. It's not interesting to people to read a story full of static perfect characters. The ponies in MLP aren't flawless because they wouldn't be good characters to begin with without those flaws, after all, real people are riddled with flaws, so in some cases having flawed characters can help real people relate to them better.

I think as best said by @AlexanderThrond
