I don't need to give any evidence of people or things performing this dabbing gesture today because it is literally everywhere. People still dab today or include dabs in their works despite it being a dead trend/meme. Also, dabbing is now one of the most cringey things someone could ever do in many people's opinions.

So, should dabbing be banned?

Personally, it doesn't really matter to me. However, I would prefer that the dab is not banned since it has provided for me a lot of humor.

If you don't know what dabbing is, here is the definition and an example:

Dab | Cuphead by Allampanato

Definition of a dab (from Oxford Dictionaries): (Noun) "a dance move or gesture, originating in hip hop and often performed as part of a celebration, in which one arm is bent at an angle across the upper chest while the other is fully extended parallel to the first arm, with the face turned toward the bent elbow."

News flash: Not everyone knows what dabbing is. And for all anyone knows, making a defensive pose to protect yourself does NOT automatically mean the guy is dabbing. It just means they're trying to defend themselves from incoming attacks.

I was just overexaggerating. You are right, dabs aren't everywhere, buy they do appear in a lot of places, you just got to know where to look.

See that's another problem, someone innocently defends themselves from attacks or accidentally moves their arms in a way that makes it look like a dab, and then someone comes along and makes it into a dab when it's really not. Also, I've seen where someone once saw a pet raise it's limbs in the dab position and they said the pet dabbed.

To let everyone know, I've changed the poll since it seemed to be a little confusing, at least to me, and to make the poll represent the post title better. This reset the votes, by the way, so make sure to check if your vote counted.

I dont know what dabbing is I thought i had an idea but after reading here a bit im not so sure

I'll work on posting a good definition and example of a dab.

Edit: I've posted an example and definition in my original post at the very top.

It may be annoying, but it's a type of a issue, when the best thing to fight against it it's not talking about it. Otherwise it'll be blown into something large, like pathostreams on Polish YouTube (Ratafus, Marlenka).

Dabbing is annoying but it shouldn't be banned for being annoying. Maybe in schools or something? I dunno. It doesn't hurt anyone other than just someone who does it being a nuisance.

Uh... no? What did it do to anybody to put it on the pedestal next to a certain infameous right arm gesture originating from the times of 2nd World War? It's not harming anybody, at one point it was a widespread flash trend that quickly passed due to being overused. And people clinging to it seem to have generated an inexplicable hatred in other people for no real reason at all.

There are no implications in the gesture itself, no historical connections, no hard supportive evidence of any damage it might have caused to the world. The gesture itself is not associated with any impactful events. It's people who associate it with feelings it evokes in them. So it's people's problem, not the gesture's.

No, it's just a meme. People who like it have the right to enjoy it. If it annoys you that much, just ignore it and wait for it to die out. Wanting to "ban" memes you find cringy only encourages people to double down, trust me. If you don't like meme culture, just don't partake in it, easy. :maud:

It's a dumb move, and it is kinda like a meme that backfired. That said, suggesting that an annoying dance move should be banned lacks a measure of realism and sense that I can never get behind.

If you ask me, no. Dabbing is in my eyes a gesture of triumph and happiness. So banning something positive doesn't make sense.

It may be annoying to a lot of people, I can understand that. But if it does, just move on and think about something more important, problem solved
