I find shipping in fiction to be a little stranger than in real life from my side of things but maybe I don't understand how shipping works. On occasion one may observe that a friend of theirs has feelings for someone before they even realize it, and they see the other person has feelings to. We're often too blind to see what's right there in front of us. Then again when just the sight of someone makes you happy all of those endorphins might be messing with your other perceptions. But they're not messing with your friend's so much so they encourage you to try convincing you that you actually like that person and that you should try to get together. Sometimes things go smoothly and you have a wonderful relationship and other times it doesn't work out or you're turned down. It's not a perfect science but at least you'll have some cute moments to look back on. That's the sort of shipping I'm used to seeing in real life which I think is fine. If it's more like "these two look pretty and should have babies someday" then it's wrong.

Weird? no Stupid? yes. If you'd take on a celebrity standpoint of course. But i don't even bother with these kind of drama anyways, so do what you wish.

I think it's fine. It's harmless fun and not a contract imposed upon some poor unsuspecting couple. Very often it's outside observers who have better perspective and clarity on who is best suited for someone else because their point of view isn't clouded by personal emotion. I would value that kind of input, and if nothing else, I would enjoy the fun of it.

It really depends. I mean, if we're talking real life people such as celebs... then no. If not, then... maybe. Again, it depends on how much you actually truly ship them. imo, I feel like it might be fine if the people your shipping are your friends or something. idk... that's just my two cents on this thing. Don't listen to me. ;w; I mean, if you're shipping a person with another person like how most ships usually work... than it is a little on the awkward side. Basically, if you're shipping them with someone with a person they don't want to be with than yeah...

One couple I do ship in real life with all my heart is Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty. I mean... HOW CAN YOU NOT SHIP THEM? <3

By the way, what if Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty end up breaking up with each other or getting a divorce if they got married? I just have a feeling that Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty's relationship is not going to last, since nearly all celebrity couples don't last. Don't get me wrong, I do like Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty's relationship. But so many celebrity couples break up or divorce each other that it's pretty much pointless to hope that celebrities will be together until death does them apart.

The only good shipping in my opinion is MLP OC x canon character, such as my ponysona with Fluttershy. :squee:

Canon x canon is stupid and overdone, and real-life shipping is the stupidest of all! :eww:

I think some people need to be more careful, shipping real people HAS ruined some relationships between people.  I don't see anything wrong with making a joke of it but I honestly think people should be more...  "Conservative" when it comes to shipping people.  So long as the people involved are okay with it, I see no problem with it but if you're aggressively shipping two celebrities(or just any regular folk) that are obviously disturbed by it, we're going to have a problem.

It's fun when someone does, you know it is not as if they're making you be in a relationship with them. That and usually when someone does ship anyone it is because they have a common vibe or a chemistry that has you think they might get along who knows even be in a relationship together. That is just for fun really and you know taking it seriously defeats the point of well shipping since it is entertaining that is.

I mean look

If I think someone might look cute with someone else I know then I’ll make some comments. Or someone I think they’d be good with.

Ultimately at the end of the day it’s your choice. Only trying to help a buddy out since I would want the same if I knew somebody might know someone who would be a good match for me. Or if there’s something clearly going on there that I’m unaware of. Sometimes I need that third party to be like, girl they’re into you. Or they’d be a good match for you, you should reach out.

I want them to be happy and it’s always been like a cute fun light hearted situation.

Even with like celebrities it’s because I think they’d make a cute couple.

End of the day it’s nothing serious and people can do what they want. I don’t care that much about it as long as the people I care about don’t end up with jerks.
