I disagree. Not enough hate on this thread.

I can't vote! My answer isn't in the poll.

Sometimes I do like it, like when I find some epic song I love.

Sometimes I do not. it depents on the genre, if I am tired of not and alot more stuff.

The only time I'd really have a problem with it is when I need peace and quiet.

It's discourteous and rude to blast music so loud your neighborhood can hear it. I can understand every once in a while, having a large party or something - that's forgivable. But on a daily basis, I don't care if you're blasting my favorite band, turn that crap down.

And to the man in the blue Honda Civic who inexplicably pulls up next to me nearly every day at the same stop light blasting Kottonmouth Kings so loud it rattles my own vehicle - This is a very small town, and I will find out where you live.

  • 1 year later...

I usually listen to music with headphones and I always keep it at a reasonable volume. I don't wanna damage my hearing. :P

How loud your music should be depends on some certain things. Like how long you'll be listening for, how loud the environment around you is, etc.

As OP said it's all in the context. Home I consider off limits for loud music, since I live in an apartment at the moment. In the car I keep the volume reasonable until I'm on the highway.

Depends on the music. I don't like metalcore or deathcore where the vocalist sounds like he has the worst sore throat ever. That music is terrible imo.

I voted that I hate it. And I'm so glad I'm not alone in the universe...

My neighbor is downright annoying with this some times. I just want to go to him and beat him to death with the speakers.

I don't like it when somebody is playing music so loudly in their car that it's making my car vibrate. I also don't like it when I can hear someone's music when they're wearing headphones, and they're like 20 feet away from me.

Love loud music, one of my music motto's is. If the ground ain't shaking, you're doing something wrong.

It feels good, having the bass giving you a massage while driving. Also, use over ear headphones while listening to loud music it's better. It's a lot of fun feeling the vibration.

Kind of like in this video.

I'm honestly used to loud music. I've listened to it so much that when I used headphones and I crank it halfway, it sounds not that awesome. So I crank it up

I'm not going deaf; I'm just used to loud music.

I don't like music played loud that I do not care for.  It's also obvious that it's bad for your hearing to crank to volume up to 11 all the time.  There needs to be a balance. For the most part I listen to music quietly, if it's a nice folk tune. If I'm doing something like reading or other work at home, some nice soft instrumental music for background noise is nice.

There are times when I do listen to loud music at home, only when I'm cleaning and thus going from room to room. I want to be able to hear the music throughout my house (which blocks sound like no other), but I do not make it so loud that my cats and hedgehog get stressed out from it. If it's too much for them, then it's too much for me.

In the truck, I keep the music at a "normalized" level if I am alone (about mid level of the volume option). However, I WILL blast accordion and bagpipe music if I'm in a downtown area with lots of people around, and it's warm enough to roll down my windows....I like making people question... :D

The only times I do crank the volume up regularly is on my bicycle. I bike 10+ miles a day, and since I was little, I have always been on my bike with music (seriously, a cassette player with N*SYNC...and then a CD player with Pokemon music....).  I despise biking without music. I need music to set my "working rhythm" which means I'll bike faster and harder if the song is adrenaline pumping or bike more leisurely is the song is slow and melodic).  I am very dependent on that, so I have to listen to music louder than I should because it's either the music or the sound the air whistling by which can drown out softer music.

Yeah, parties and concerts I can understand. Both, I dont not attend...but yeah, I dislike it when people just BLARE their music out of nowhere. Especially the rap that has the "F" word in every sentence and so much profanity and they blare it so the world can just hear how horrible it can be. I also hate it when its like...4 in the morning and you are sleeping and some idiot comes back and blares their music and wakes up the whole neighborhood.

Usually, loud music causes me bad headaches. My dad always blares his annoying music in the car .-. and you cant even hear yourself think...omg

I don't usually listen to music super loud, but the past couple days I was listening to music louder than I usually do, and it was pretty awesome. Some music just doesn't sound as awesome when you listen to it quiet :P

I hate it when people blast their music while I'm in the car with them. I have super sensitive ears.

Well, yes and no.   Yes, with certain music, such as music to exercise with (specifically Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix).  No, b/c the bass literally hurts my ears, as well as creating some sort of congestion, and your chest literally bounces (im referring to your heart beats).  The music that would fit that is Hip-Hop, Dance/Techno, and Rap.........can't stand it, :(

If you have to hear loud music to other places than a party or concert, it should be in your ears. It's annoying for others that does not like the same music as you.
