Reason is that it was already being promoted by then. There are even a few older fans of Vivzie who noticed some of her work that she uploaded on youtube which garnered her some following. Stuff like

But since last year and a little before that she had begun promoting Hazbin Hotel by showing people clips of the upcoming show, building up the hype more and more and more as more clips were released and more characters were introduced. That's basically where the hype has been building up

what do y'all think of the theory that Alastor is related to Charlie in some way?

people been speculating that due to the similarity in appearance between Alastor and Charlie's dad that Alastor might actually be her dad or her uncle

this could also make sense since Alastor is apparently the most powerful demon in Hell

maybe Charlie's dad is actually trying to help her?

It's a theory...a game theory!

It is an interesting theory, but kind of doubt. Though I wouldn't put past Lucifer of doing something to help either. Just because they look similar still don't mean their connected either when it comes to animation.

I had to check it out too after seeing all the statuses about it here. It didn't disappoint me – I'll definitely watch the later episodes once they're released. The art style was what piqued my interest (along with all the hype), and it looked every bit as amazing (or even more so) in action. The musical aspect was one thing I wasn't sure about in advance, but I did enjoy the songs in the end.

Considering how it often takes me more than one episode to really get into shows, I'll most likely have more to say about it later on. But as for my first impression of the characters, I really liked Angel Dust – just like everyone else, it seems. Charlie was very cute – it might just be me, but I was even reminded slightly of a certain pink pony in a scene or two.

I only found out about Hazbin due to watching Saberspark's quick review of it. I'm really glad I checked it out, though. Even made it my wallpaper...

Dat grin, though.

Angel Dust would have been my least favorite character based on how he seems to not care about who he screws over (yes, I know, he's a demon, but still), but at least he does do some redeeming stuff like pushing Cherri Bomb out of danger and at least considering trying to comfort Charlie. And I'm not particularly surprised at his popularity.

Speaking of one-off; according to the trivia section of Sir Pentious wiki page, Sir Pentious was suppose to be an one-off villain, but he grew to  Vizie and the fans.

I mean Alastor could have killed Sir Pentious and he would not be seen again. But, Sir Pentious was showed to live from that giant tentacle. So either Alastor as OP as we think or he just went easy. Seeing Pentious isn't the main antagonist, there still could be someone stronger than Alastor despite the build up on him.

I mainly knew of this show through finding a clip or two of it in my YouTube recommended feed. Though I think @Alastor actually became a fan of the show a ways before I hyped it up.~

Got to be honest, this definitely isn't the type of show I'm immediately drawn to be it the language or immediate adult material but I'll give anything a shot for characters like these, and while I was kind of on the fence during the turf war, and news broadcast parts (though the SleepyCabin/Oneyplays fan in me delighted in hearing Joshua Tomar as Tom Trench) it's once we hit the limo scene and the hotel scenes that these characters immediately clicked for me be it Vaggie for her realism, Angel Dust for his attitude, charm and yet down to earth hell deamor about his eternal life, Alastor for his charisma with underlying vagueness of power and motivation beyond boredom as he states. Also really want to see how the additional staff like Niffty and Huskar will be.

Though I think the character I'm most interested in is Charlie due to how much depth she has. Not only is the naive positivity great in this kind of setting but the little hints they kept dropping with her character just open up so much of the world to me. Mainly that she states she was born in Hell. All the demons see Hell as their eternal prison and just live with the fact that they blew their chance on earth, but Charlie never got that chance, this is her life, her home, her chance and the fact that she is the only one, besides Vaggie, who uses it to see good in others has me wondering if an underlying theme will be that you really are shaped to be bad by your environment and not by you being born with it. If that will be a large key to some of these characters getting their redemption.
