I didn't really find it out of place since parodying her as a confederacy loving redneck isn't exactly uncommon. I'd say that overall depiction of her is about as bad as Princess Molestia, which I don't see widely admonished but is definitely not appropriate for public settings. I see the audacity in them and can see why someone would get a kick out of them like other forms of dark humor.

The benefit of memes is that they can always be altered to be more appealing as well, such as this example.

That's cause non-pone diversity has nothing to do with "muh diversity" peddled IRL. You don't see "Alt-Right Wahcis" complain about them elves and dwarves, and you only see lore enthusiasts complain if they make elves inhabiting what is clearly a European setting look African. And I'm not even talking about dark complexion. Some types of elves are often depicted as having dark or chocolate skin and nobody bats an eye.

 

This is where the aforementioned meme comes into play. It's not so much a dog whistle than it is a duck call used to lure out a specific type of left-winged fowl.

Molestia.  I honestly had no problem with its existence, but the girl responsible for getting it shut down getting harassed by creeps outside her house was way beyond ridiculous, and I hope karma got served to those assholes after.

The pinkie pony issue was not because she working to raid at it with a shower of reports so hasbro would take cards on the matter, No, the thing with her constant harass was from the whole lot of horseapples she did before and afterwards (included but not limited to accussing one of her ex's of sexual assault and proven to be a lie after destroying the dude's life), and how much she came off as an hypocrite (mainly).

As presented on pic above, she herself had a market for clop going on. Of course, is not like the guys behind Princess Molestia didn't have one (they even participated in several clop for charity albums along the way), but they were far more popular than her. What Pinkie Pony did was downright bull. She took out the competence from the market by doing such a thing.

But she didn't only go on with drawing mane six and adult mares' clop, but had a thing for crossdressing ponies, which on itself is just meh, but the tip of the actually wrong stuff.

What really triggered people is she had a big market for foalcon. She had been drawing foals not only on the kind of wtf situations, but engaging in sexual acts. Due guidelines, I can't share the archives we kept as evidence during investigations on her, but you gotta trust me, she crossed the line.

And if you think that was not enough of a reason to hate her for taking down the competitors on the market, she also did this

She later on improved the style and started to use PINK or LILA outlines and shadings, and made rape jokes on following strips. You know, like ask princess molestia.

So yeah, there's a whole lot about it. Plagiarism, hypocrisy, fallacy and even foalcon. That's why people exploded on her.

As for what meme I think is lame? Pretty much all the base pony edit things. You know, wet manes, heart shapes and so. They make me cringe because they are not even cunning nor funny.

At first I thought the same, back in 2014. Like why would they go against her?

Then I started to investigate with a few anons at the cesspool and we kept finding dirt in her tumblr and related accounts. Some people even made a few articles on horse news about the whole issue.

We also found about the whole drama of the ex and a few months later things were cleared up but it was too late. One can't recover from an accussation of such caliber.

I guess we all are so used to think people can be downright irrational over almost everything we assume it was just a bunch of horrible people taking it too personal, but sometimes there's more than what one can see on a first gaze.

Oh yeah, another meme I didn't really like was the "licious" pony one. At first it was fun to see twilightlicious because Tara Strong played along. It was funny and out of place. Later on everyone got onto the bandwagoon and before we knew it there was no room anymore and OCs nopony gave a hayseed about were flooding youtube with their licious versions and that's when it was lame.
