ok some of the things i like are is how open the community is i was apprehensive at first about liking the show and then i started to look at the show the characters are so relateable  to me and it brings me alot of happiness when im feeling down i cant say that about very many shows now a days. Like how the episodes mimic certain things that go on i real life, And in closing i have met so many great people in the fandom and i thank you.

The characters are likeable and have personalities one could easily relate to and the morals that they have in the end of all of the episodes.  I also find that even in my worst of days, I just sit back and watch an episode and automatically get some sense of comfort and joy.  Not sure why.  I suppose it's that lighthearted innocence.  Also, perhaps one of the main reasons is the awesome community that comes with it. <3 I feel completely accepted here and I never would have known about it if not for the show.

I think that the message at the very core of the show is a very very positive one and a very hopeful one at that. and if we could spread this message to the rest of the world  we would at last have peace.  More importantly, the little moral messages at the end of every episode..... 'dear princess celestia..'  are very encouraging to hear and I always enjoy them.  and they always teach me something about myself.   more importantly I love this show because  i think it teaches the kids who watch this show some very good lessons about how they should treat the other people around them.

not to mention the animation is fantastic!  the voice acting is incredible!  and so is the music!

I like the show becouse its new, funny, and it says that their are more to cartoons then just the stupid pices of crap that keep coming from cartoon netwerk other than thunder cats, plus beats the crap out of spunge bob and johnny test, sure I get mocked by my family every time mlp comes up in a conversation, but Istill love the show.

There's a lot of reasons, really!

-Animation

It's just fantastic. And ridiculously detailed! Heck, even the movements of the ponies manes are animated correctly! Clearly, heaps of effort gets put into the whole animation process, and that's something to be grateful for in a show.

-Characters

They're down to Earth, believable and lovable ponies. All of us can relate to at least one of them. They all have faults in their personalities, major or minor, obvious or not so obvious. And there's always more to them than meets the eye. Like Pinkie Pie completely losing her mind in Party of One. Or Rarity (who I'm sure not many of us really liked previously) risking her career to please her friends. :D And the list goes on...

-Songs

The songs in the show are extremely catchy and, occasionally, quite emotional. 'BBBFF' is a good example of an emotional song in the series, and 'This Day Aria' sounds like it came straight out of a Disney movie. Who can't get overjoyed when listening to 'Smile Smile Smile'? And who could go a day without getting 'Winter Wrap Up' stuck in their head? Nopony, that's who.

-Humor

The show is filled with innocent, yet very funny moments which could make you cry with laughter. A lot of this comes from knowing the characters well. For example, after watching a full season of Twilight's generally level head, seeing her completely lose it in Lesson Zero is sure to crack you up. Not to mention Flutterage in 'The Best Night Ever'. But it's filled with other stuff too, like the classic "And then I said, Oatmeal, are you CRAZY?" or Spike demanding another donut. (with extra sprinkles!)  ;)

-Morals

Who couldn't love this? At the end of each episode, a life lesson is learned. Most cartoons tend to lack that nowadays, but in MLP, it is summarized clearly, yet not in a way that would be cheesy or annoying. There's a lot that can be learned from the show, and a lot to be taken from it. Freakin. Beautiful.

And that's just to name a few! I didn't even mention the fanbase, great relationship with the creators or the complete adorableness of the characters! But this post is getting way too long.

I think my favorite thing about MLP is that there is a moral at the end of every episode and it's clearly stated. I love that they are geared towards anything in life; friendship, self improvement, common courtesy and a plethora of others I'm sure but I'm only on the beginning of season two. ;)

What do you love about MLP that made you want to watch it more, buy it's merch, join a forum around it possibly attend BronyCon and create an OC, if you have one, resulting in you turning into a brony!

I'd love to know!

The art style is just super colorful than most shows that I've seen... It's pretty interesting, that's what really got my attention the first time I saw it, the fluidity of the character's movement, the color, story, personalities, it's all great :D

I love that it's a genre busting show that redefines what it means to be "girls entertainment".  Friendship is Magic is a Reconstruction of shows for girls- taking the general trappings of the genre but then doing it *right*- by insisting on a well defined worldview, quality writing, quality animation, a sense of adventure, and fleshed out, dynamic characters, regardless of the show's target audience.

Well made "Boys" shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Beast Wars always reached for excellence across the board.  MLP proves that girls' shows should too.

Believe it or not i did learn a thing or two about friendship, i kid you not.
The thing i like about MLP FiM is that even though its a kids show it doesnt show. The characters are nicely done. I want to say the plot is good but i would change some things in every episode; but then again who wouldnt. They pay attention to detail so thats pleasing to me

RAINBOW DASH, RAINBOW DASH.

This, and the fact that MLP totally annihilates my bad mood and gives me the ultimate level of entertainment.

Also, the fact that I'm watching Lauren Faust's cartoon. ;)

The characters, pure and simple. You have six (Mane ones) to choose from, each of them complex, with strong characterization, strengths and weakness, and moments of pure awesome, along with a colorful cast of backup and background characters to enjoy. In any story, it is the characters that make or break our experience. These characters draw us in, make us care about them, and deliver our entertainment in their interactions. And no one does it better than our Mane 6. Huzzah!

I can't narrow it down to less than three, in no special order

1:Rainbow Dash, I can relate to and enjoy her character on so many levels and it's just so much fun to watch any scene that she's in.

2: The Mane Six in general, I love all the varied ways that they can play off of each other and all the unique interactions that they can create. There's something to appreciate about every one of them.

3: The feel, I love the lighthearted and fun feel that the show (almost) always has. I'm able to feel so relaxed and content when watching it :)

At first it was the cute characters. I'm interested in Rainbow Dash since the first time I saw her on a meme. Later I watched the show and I bet you know what happened next.

Well, what made me curious to watch the show at first was the fan's claim that "Watch five episodes and you will be hooked". Challenge accepted and then, "Accept a challenge to watch MLP, hooked". According to that, and some of my experience in this fandom, the fandom itself is my favourite things about MLP : FiM. The fandom is awesome. It has so many great contents and tribute to the show. I love the show very much, but I don't mind it when the show finally end. I still have the great fandom right here. Thank you Bronies!

I like the cute ponies. They're so well written and expertly designed. The characters each have strengths and flaws, but these qualities work in concert to produce truly fleshed out characters. It makes them "human," if you will, and it's this component that makes them so relatable. And, as the show goes on, our relationship with the characters becomes something akin to friendship. We know the character's thoughts, dreams, and doubts  as we would a real person--even more so, perhaps. We sympathize with their plights. We cheer them on as they face their fears and resolve their conflicts. It's fitting for a show about friendship.

But it's mainly Twilight Sparkle.

Welp, let's see.

--The music is incredibly well-made, happy, catchy, and will not GTFO of your head. Not that we'd want it to ;)

--The main protagonists are well-defined, believable, but most importantly relatable. Therefore, as the show centers primarily around them learning lessons to deal with their inherent personality and character flaws, we can learn these same lessons as they did.

--The ponies are adorable.

FANMADE_Twilight_Sparkle_filly_dancing.g

Enough said on that topic.

But most importantly...

--It offers an escape. The show gives me--and I suspect this is the case for many other bronies--a world filled with joy, innocence, and purity...a world where morality is always what's rewarded at the end of the day, not profit. Whenever I find myself crushed by the end of another cloudy day of dealing with the impurity of our world, I can always spirit myself away to a world of joy and friendship.

The artstyle, it's perfectly animated, they are smoothly done as well.

the story, The story is a very good one, especially for a children's cartoon.

the characters: the Characters are believable  and relateable.

The songs aren't really annoying as some shows today.  They are catchy, and you can listen to them for hours.

Oh man... there are so many things I like about the show. ... The coloring, the characters and their development...

You know what? I think my favorite thing about MLP are the characters and their development. I like how all of the characters (including CMC) learn about friendship and how Mane 6 actually manage to be the definition of their Element of Harmony and still have good character development.

-The effort that is put into details, when they could simply phone it in

-the characters bouncing of each other

-the fact that it takes all its watchers serious

-the gorgeous look

But most of all the joy of knowing that there is a show that manages to be funny and clever without resorting to grossout humor.

Why do I like this series?

  • The characters: the Mane 6 are all opposite characters from each other in some way, and yet, they are good friends and play each other off so well. Each character is detailed and outspoken, making them alive. Each character has its talents and flaws and they are really funny when they are actually NOT in their normal mood. In general: an interesting cast. And don't forget the side characters! They are all believable in the world they live in.
  • Villains: every good hero needs an equally talented villain. Villains are a good addition to this show, making Equestria less of a harmless, painless world. It brings tension in the series and it challenges the main characters. Besides, I just love villains (I mean, who didn't love Discord in SE02EP01?).
  • Action, humour and dark stories: this is what makes this show less girly than most people would think it would be. Darkness brings tension into the story and makes Equestria less harmless. It also shows that life doesn't work out the way as you want to and that bad things do happen. We don't live in paradise and neither do the ponies. Action also makes it more manly and more exciting to watch. It makes the ponies less innocent and vunerable, and therefore more believable. Humour can bring in the lightness in the story and the cartoony action is for me part of the success of this series.
  • The world: the creators have created a vast world with its own creatures, geography, history, mythology and culture. I'm quite fond of this type of detail
And that's why I became a brony ;)

Best,

Maarten
