*SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3!* Speculations on the Crystal Kingdom.

well in the "crystal ponies history book" It looks like the crystal ponies aren't made of crystal xD. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of the crystal ponies losing their old heritage and Princess Cadence will lose her magic if the tradition is gone forever. So she asks for twilight's help to bring back the old ways of the crystal ponies. But thats my idea on it

 

Sums up my conception of is pretty well.

 

Although I'm not sure about Cadance's role in all this, I don't believe she is losing her magic in anyway.

Rather she is using some spell to help the Crystal Ponies, but the spell will fade after a while. Hence the Mane Six's involvement.

 

As to the nature of the Crystal Ponies' problems: I have no idea.

But as the song suggests, their heritage plays a part in the solution. Be it reminding them of their own past, or increasing awareness of it amongst the other ponies of Equestria.

It's really hard to understand it, but I wonder what crystal ponies look like?

Maybe Crystal Bodies?

A part of their body that looks like a crystal?

Maybe they look normal and just have things to do with crystals because it was a building tool, something to eat, something to craft with, and other things?

 

Also, could Cadance be one? A high ranking Crystal Pony? A normal or peasant one to them?

 

If we found these out I could think up an idea for it.

 

Edit: Dear Celestia's jimmies... Reading the EQDaily spoilers, my mind and jimmies are blown to Equestria.

If they lead the Crystal Kingdom, and the Crystal Ponies have to do with the Elements of Harmony as founders, I wonder what this could mean.

 

I really want to see a battle of the Crystal Kingdom and Changeling Kingdom for some reason.

Someone brought up another good point. The Crystal Ponies clearly have a love-based power which is so strong that it's used for things such as keeping Equestria's barrier going (which was alluded to needing to be periodically recharged). So the stakes are actually pretty high if they're a kingdom or civilization of some sort that's in danger of dying out. If the Crystal Ponies die out or lose their powers or whatever might happen to them, then who will recharge the barrier the next time it goes?

Yeah, Cadence's power is quite literally the power of love. But after watching A Canterlot Wedding for a second time, I did realize that they only had that barrier up because Celestia knew there might be a threat to the kindgom during the wedding. Ironically she still didn't believe or even question it when Twilight burst into the rehearsal room saying that Cadence might be evil. But then at the end she acted like she knew it all along.

 

Hmm... Interesting...

 

As for the Crystal Heart, I think it's just the source of power for the Crystal Kingdom. Apparently, it's what allows Crystal Ponies to maintain their shine and their power (whatever that power might be).

That's possble. But bear in mind that those barriers are only used if there's a known threat to the kingdoms. Which is why I raised the BS flag regarding Celestia in A Canterlot Wedding. Don't get me wrong, it's a great episode. But that was definitely something that was hard for me to overlook.

The Crystsl Empire is located in the north of Equestria. Revealed in the Walmart Map poster alongside alot of different locations.

What is wrong with the Crystal ponies?

You mean why are they so depressed? I think it has something to do with King Sombre's powers. the word Sombre = Dismal / Melancholy. Maybe he can project that feeling on to ponies that are exposed to him for extended periods of time. And for more speculation, maybe when Celestia and Luna banished him the first time he somehow transported the Crystal Empire to where he was being imprisoned and ruled for a 1000 years.

Well from what I've got together even though the episode is going to be coming out very soon, The ponies are made of crystal and we're locked away by the power of king sombre for 1000 years. They have somehow managed to reappear, but are in danger I guess of being put back into darkness my king sombre.

Thats my theory from what I put together.

Also I don't think princess cadence has any direct connection to them, she just is trying to save them and offer friendship to them.
