ok so it turns out, one of my youtube subscribers has found out I'm a brony and has defected from my channel. i thought, big deal, its only one of my 16 subs. problem is, he knows most of my subs and if word on youtube breaks out, all that hard work of gameplay videos just go down the sink. I'm all for brony pride but this could mean my reputation of a LPer. I've already changed my videos comments to approve only, but that wont stop him posting on his. what should I do?

If you want to take my advice, I'd say not to worry about it so much, just because he's a hater doesn't mean that everyone subscribed to you will be, don't get to worked up about it, he probably won't accomplish too much by posting on his channel that you're a brony, the internet is filled with bronies by now one more isn't going make everybody angry. If things somehow do manage to get out of hand though and you start losing a few subs send me a message and I'll give you a sub.

Hey, most of the time, real fans support the person they admire~ if they fuss about it, they're not real fans or subbers. The internet made the term brony into something that sounds unpleasant, so you gotta understand their view point, but they should at least take the time to brush into it a little deeper at a source that's reliable and not lies. Especially not Encyclopedia Dramatica. D8

Hey, I saw some of you videos, and they are good. So if he doesn't want to watch them cause you're a Brony, his loss, and I don't know how much a hater like him can influence other people to stop watching your vids, but probably not.

Oh yes...the cloppers...the tryhards...the ones who try to shove the fandom down non-brony throats...but all the bronies I've met online are very nice.

I've yet to personally meet a brony who meets the stereotype. >:

But he can be really cunning and that can be a problem. So therefore you need to fix this situation without conflict and my suggestion is that you have to put a block on that person or something...

I agree with you sir :) but suriously this one girl on chathour hated MLP and she only watched a few seconds of FIM and gave up... That was very amusing to me

As long as you don't start "infecting" your videos with pony related things (saying stuff like brohoof, pictures of ponies and stuff like that) I don't think that you will loose your subscribers. I think that most people doesn't care that you are a brony as long as your videos doesn't have any pony related stuff in them.

1. I'm gonna agree with Juggler on this one. The second main reason bronies are frowned upon is because some (not all) bronies put ponies where it isn't necessary. (which can be a little excessive)

2. If the person is really gonna go out of they're way to try put you down, they weren't worth it in the first place.

3. Snowflake is best pony.

Well, do you really need subscribers that won't like you if you're a brony? I mean, I think you are missing the point of subscribers. It's not like they are ponymon or something. You don't have to catch em all! Point of subscribing is to get in touch with content you like. If they don't like you for some odd reason, well, their problem. It's you who is making something for them afterall, not vice versa!

Don't worry dude, I'm sure not all of your subscribers are haters. If it makes you feel better I subscribed to you. :)

P.S. We should play sometime, I believe I have you added on my Steam. :)

sorry for going off-topic here, but to this day, i still have a hard time figuring out how this exactly is a bad and "messed up" thing of the fandom.

Indeed. The brony fandom seems to have a very old fashioned view when it comes to fapfap, like only "bad bronies" do it - seriously? Rule34 exists for absolutely everything, that's the whole point, and just because you enjoy it doesn't mean you can't enjoy the show itself.

Amirite?

There will come a time, when no one will feel shame from watching My Little Pony. How? Just look everywhere, we're practically everywhere. If this show goes on for at least another 3 years, who knows where we'll be. You needn't worry. What's he gonna do? Start a protest against you and tell everyone how 'bad and disgusting' you are? No need to pay attention to him. Carry on youtubing.

I think it's the fact that many people see it as a form of bestiality/furries, in a way. I mean, if someone's writing clopfics, they're writing sexual stories about animals. A lot of people hate furries. I may not really like cloppers 'cause . . . well the reasons I just mentioned, but at the same time, whatever floats your boat. I have a few friends that are furries, so, I wouldn't call someone the scum of all ponydom if I found out they were a clopper or something, that would just be really mean and unreasonable. But things like that need their own place. I mean, things like that are 18+, they don't belong all over forums like these and in public. No sexual or erotic story needs to be plastered all over the public, regardless of the subject of said story.

Just because I may not be fond of it myself does not mean I need to ruin it for those who are, or condemn them.

And every fandom has fans who will write erotic stories about the characters, there's really nothing we can do about it. It's not as if just because you like the show, that you like any such stories or whatever about it. . . it's stupid for people to assume that. That would be like, someone liking Spongebob, and everyone assuming they like Spongebob erotica just because they like the show. Unfortunately, that's the way a lot of bronies get treated. :( I wish we were just able to put in perspective, as I just did, so people could tell how much they're overreacting about bronies as a whole.

Edit:

I posted this before I was completely done posting, heh.

Anyway, Parso, these people speak the truth. This guy is just a jerk and just because he doesn't like ponies, doesn't mean other people are like that. Your other subscribers may like ponies too, or they just may not care. You may even attract more possible viewers by letting it be known you're a brony, too. There's nothing wrong with being who you are, even if people don't always understand.

There's nothing inherently disgusting about bestiality, it's not different from different breeds of dogs getting pups, or lions and tigers. The reason most people dislike it is that the animal can't really agree to it, a problem which doesn't exist in pornography since it obviously doesn't require the others consent. The fact that the pictured characters don't actually exist further supports this.

This conversation is becoming sort of uncomfortable, though. You know it's too far when you use the word "pornography", so let's just forget about it for now! :P

but the thing is, it isn't bestiality. bestiality is about wanting to have sexual relations with animals. clopfics and such is just... writing erotic stories about fictional characters. ponies aside, yes, but there's no such creatures as the ponies from the show existing in real-life. and hell, the characters from the show are more human than they are pony, with the fact that they're capable of sentient thought, speaking perfect english, constructing houses, making human-food, etc.

i mean, i know suggestive artwork or stories and more pushing the boundaries artwork shouldn't be all over the place as a form of decency and what-not, but i mean really, where's it at? i sure haven't seen any of that stuff being around on these forums, and this is a place housing 6000+ members. and i know for a fact cloppers DO exist here on the forums, but they are not "all over the forums" or "in public", afaik.

that's not to say there doesn't exist such content ELSEWHERE on the internet, but, from personal experience, i haven't stumbled upon ANY such content unless i explicitly where looking up for said content. and even then, most of the time, such content has been flagged as suggestive/explicit for the people who do not wish to look up such content. only on places where such content is SUPPOSED to be uploaded to have i found mounds of the stuff in its unflagged and explicit glory.

so uhh, i dunno; i think i've derailed this thread enough about this subject. just something i wanted to get out of my head.

Oh no no, I never said I thought it was that way, I said others viewed it like that. And since a lot of other people who aren't part of the community see it that way, instead of taking the time to understand, they just avoid and ridicule it. And I never said there were clopfics on the forums, I meant the internet and everything as a whole . . . nothing I said was about stuff like that being on the forums.

...going back to topic at hand:

You should seize this opportunity. This is a chance to show a few people that not all bronies want to shove the show down peoples' throats or include ponies in every single aspect of their life. If a hater starts spamming hate comments about being a brony, you should simply reply, "Yeah, so? What does that have to do with this video?" A nice chance for this hater to publicly make a fool of himself.
