...I think I am getting too worked up over some of this fanshipping...

Especially my skepticism of Applejack and Rainbow Dash as a result of their simplistic interactions in Fall Weather Friends and hoof wrastle and stuff... so in order to not be too... disturbed... especially by the ugly prospect that they are not even very good friends in general in the canon show in general, I must refer to one actually decent moment of friendship with them that I saw in the:

Ooooh yes this is my kinda thread I have a lot of ships, but these cuties are my OTP:

 

 

 

 

 

 

So basically, I love PinkieShy because it's a classic opposites-attract kind of ship at first glance (which I tend to like in ships in general, since my other OTP is Rarijack ) - but if you look a a little deeper, they actually have more in common than you'd think. I think they're both kind of insecure, deep down - they both really want other ponies to like and accept them for who they are, and are constantly trying to please others. The main difference is that Fluttershy is generally too shy to outright ask for reassurance when she needs it, and it's her fears that hold her back, while Pinkie will try absolutely everything she can to keep ponies entertained and sometimes goes too far/drives them away as a result, and I think their personalities complement each other really well in that way. Pinkie needs somepony who will love her even if she's not "on" all the time, to show her it's okay to be sad sometimes, and Fluttershy is perfect for that. Meanwhile, Pinkie's endless optimism and encouragement could really help Fluttershy and give her the support she needs to face her fears (yeah, I know, Filli Vanilli - not a big fan of that scene, but I think the Hop, Skip & Jump song in Dragonshy is a much better example and more IC for Pinkie. when Fluttershy's watching her jump over and she smiles <3__<3). Pinkie could bring Fluttershy out of her shell while Fluttershy can help Pinkie to calm down a little and curb her more obnoxious tendencies. Also, I think both Pinkie and Fluttershy are very open and comfortable with expressing their emotions - in different ways, they're both very affectionate towards their friends, so I think the other one would really appreciate that.

Looking at that picture again, I wonder where Sunset Shimmer's horn is. We so rarely get to see it (unicorns in half-human-half-pony form don't have a visible horn) that I'd almost forgotten she had one. Perhaps she has it in Twily's ear?

 

 

 

If them being in separate universes proves a barrier to their relationship, then maybe Trixie x Twilight...

AppleDash: They're both headstrong and competetive, yet very different in behavior. Even so, they're clearly close friends and for me it's not hard to see why they should be together.

 

TwiDash: Twilight and Dashie are my favorite ponies, pretty much. They offset each other nicely because Twilight is very happy studying while Dash would like to be outside practicing her flying or really any other sport. Then again, they both love to read and that makes for a nice connection between them.

 

Twilight x Trixie: How could I not like these two? Twilight may be infinitely more powerful than Trixie, she could definitely learn from her showmanship. Trixie, on the other hand can learn a thing or two from Twilight's humility.

 

SunLight: I really only started shipping this after Rainbow Rocks. Both former students of Princess Celestia, and after EG Sunset was basically in the same situation as Twilight, knowing next to nothing about friendship.

 

Wow, I thought I could write much more about my ships. I'm pretty sure I can, even, but somehow not at this moment.

I used to think shippers were weirdos and freaks, until I saw "Rainbow Falls". Their interactions were just too adorable to NOT ship them together!

 

I imagine that the main reason why this ship isn't more popular is that by the time of the episode's airing, most shippers had already paired Fluttershy with someone else. Since I never really shipped anypony with anypony (Other than the obligatory Lyra x Bon Bon that everyone else ships) she was still free in my headcanon.

I'm not sure if I have just one favourite... TwiDash, FlutterDash, TwiShy, TwiXie, SunLight; all are pretty adorable IMO. I guess part of the reason why I love these ships so much is that they involve my two favourite ponies (Twilight and Fluttershy), and the fanfics I've read about these have the ponies being shipped responding in such cute ways...

Fluttershy x Discord

Fluttershy is the one who helped reform Discord, and they even go on tea parties! Plus, just watch the Season 4 finale. Discord says "it's mostly for Fluttershy" and makes a squee face, he has a photo of the two of them together, and Fluttershy flies over to him and hugs him when she sees him. Also, Fluttershy cries and Discord later says sorry to her.

 

Cheerilee x Big Mac

Yes, I know they fell in love because of potion, but the episode was nonetheless adorable and the ending makes me believe that they actually started a relationship together. Furthermore, in Filli Vanilli, Cheerilee swoons when Big Mac is singing and I think that's proof enough she still is in love with him.

 

I also like Cheese Sandwich x Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle x Flash Sentry, Rainbow Dash x Soarin', and Spike x Rarity OR Sweetie Bell.
