Warrior Cats! Even though its a book meant for a younger age, I'm shocked at how amazingly beautiful the book series is!

The way there are multiple people writing the books, the characters and how everything is always to exciting!

And my most favourite thing about the book series is Jayfeather, and the way he falls in love with Half Moon, but half of the fandom pairs him with his stick! X3  Best fictional animal ever created.

Ok, have to update my Favorite List, as I finished reading The Maze Runner series.

I can't express how awesome that series is, the plot, the characters, everything. I'd recommend, if you have the chance just read it ;)

SO MANY.  Where do I start?

-Harry Potter (obesessed!!)

-Lord of the Rings (obsessed!!)

-His Dark Materials (DAEMONS)

-Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant (recently became obsessed!)

-The Mercy Thompson novels (how can you not like an urban fantasy series starring an epic shapeshifter mechanic?)

-Blue Exorcist (working on the manga.  SO cool!)

-Petshop of Horrors manga (another old favorite... I should reread that)

-Jurassic Park, Lost World (I learned what "entrails" meant when I first read these at age 9... lol)

And then there's nonfiction... but that isn't really series... and this is kind of enough lol!

There are so many good books that I could name, so I'll just stick with my favorite book and my favorite series.  My favorite book is The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne.  He has this style of writing which makes it so easy for you to imagine that you're in the story.  The characters are enjoyable, and there's one particular scene which I love, which puts one of the character's lives in a different perspective.

My favorite book series is the Dune series by Frank Herbert.  They're the sort of books you just need to keep reading in spite of the heavy material, but it pays off very well (I've read each of the six main books twice).  The timeline of the books spans over millennia, and by the end of the last book, everything comes together in an amazing way, and one which I think is very satisfying.

I don't really read for fun, but I recall I used to read the Boxcar Children and Hank the Cowdog series when I was younger :P. Mystery and comedy are fun :).

This book is my favorite fiction book: 2012-JUN-Phantastes-cover-3-186x300.jpg

It's about a man who is transported into Fairy Land, and his various trial and adventures there; all while he pursues a character called "The Marble Lady". The book embodies the best of Romanticism, I think.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

I was such the Warriors and Ga'Hoole fan when I was a kid!  :muffins: Since then I discovered fanfiction and haven't read many published books (Still haven't made it past page 80 of Catching Fire and I've had the book for two years.  :eww: Shame on me), so I guess those two are some of my favorites. But my favorite book of all time?

While I don't like the early books, The second, third and definitely the fourth series of the Warriors books by Erin Hunter are AMAZING!

Do any of you read teen fiction? If so, what are your favorite books that you have read lately? My favrite book of the month is probably Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell. It is super cute and fun to read.

Books made for teens? Not really my thing. I'm mostly into those hardboiled, noir, detective stories. A good who-done-it is always thrilling. But I am trying to broaden my horizons. My uncle got me a pretty hip science book for Christmas. Can't wait to dive into that!  :)

@@livdharris@Hyperactive_Y0utuber@Kaela@Archer Dash, &,

Just a heads up, I've combined several threads about favorite books, what books you're reading, and similar threads into our Book Discussion master thread.  In the future, please be sure to run a search to see if there's a similar thread prior to posting your own.

Thanks!

I love books. Do YOU love books? Post pictures or titles of your favorite books below. There's no limit to how many favorites you can have, but I also want to know WHY they're your favorites.

Got my thread merged into this one, so I'll just segue into this right quick!

I have a lot of favorites, but my number one is George Orwell's 1984; a beautiful, but fictional, expose on the extreme dangers of applied Socialism(which, in my mind, is different from theoretical Socialism) and government tyranny. A true classic, and a grave warning for the ages.

Probably 1984 actually.  :P

I also really loved the Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfeld.
