Dashie's Father Revealed! [Spoilers]

I just saw this video that reveals a little more about this weeks new episode! and guess what I noticed?

A purple pegasus stallion with; you guessed it a rainbow mane! 

Anyway; dont take my word for it the video says it all.

Unlikely to be an older brother. Shining Armor looked younger, like an actual young teenager when Twiliy was a filly like Dash is in this flashback. Since this colt is clearly older than Shining Armor was back in that point in time, I say he's definitely a father. That said I'd be fine if it was just a very older brother. Sibling relationships are adorable to me |'3

 

Hope we get a name and maybe even more screen time, perhaps even in the present, at some point

Hm this is pretty cool, I'll believe it even though it doesn't seem to mention whether its Rainbow Dash's father or not, I'm gonna believe it is because it makes sense . Besides he has to be related in some way, they both have the same color mane.

 

I didn't see Rainbow Dash's mother though, however I guess its possible that maybe she was just another one of the ponies there or stayed home.

 

Regardless pretty cool .

 

Now we just need to see Fluttershy's parents.. And maybe a flashback of AJ's Then we've got all the mane 6's parents. I think..

Relations aren't mentioned, but looking at their interactions I think it's reasonable to assume that he's Rainbow's dad (as opposed to her older brother).

Could still be an uncle I guess. I'm leaning towards father though . I'm thrilled to see him, even if it is only a glimpse.

 

Now I want an episode where we find out more about him, Dashie's mom, and how they all interact. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Brother or Father, either way I'm just happy to see a relative of Rainbow Dash for once, but I'm seeing him more of a father than a brother to me. I just think RD is an only child (excluding Scoots as a sister xP)

Finally we're getting a glimpse of the parents of our pegasi, and there's no better Pegasus to start with than Rainbow Dash. Can't wait to see where this goes.

After seeing the clip earlier, I showed DashForever and commented that I couldn't wait for the inevitable adorable father/daughter artwork to come out. He bet that he'd change his avatar first to such things. I found this piece of artwork on one of my checkings of DA's latest pony content, and decided I might as well change now Had to prove my superior dedication.

He bet that he'd change his avatar first to such things. So this means that... Fluttershy's the only one who's parents we haven't seen, right?  I mean, I know technically we haven't seen AJ's parents as ponies, but they did also technically make an appearance, so I'm counting it anyway.  Gotta say, RD's dad be rocking some swag, although I was kinda surprised that he looked like he was so chill and not more of a jock.  I kind of like it actually, makes RD's behavior all the more random, unless of course she gets her tomcolt behavior from her mom, who may or may not have been in the shot, can't say.  Can't wait for the episode tomorrow!

Maybe he would have been the pony equivalent of their QB jock-type; having played 4 years of football in high school, I know the QB type, and, if they aren't really full of themselves, (which none of ours were) they tend to be pretty laid back and chill, although they're still great leaders on the field, so maybe her dad's the Equestria equivalent and, even if he was a jock, was just always chill.  Of course, as you pointed out, I'm trying to infer this from a clip where he had no lines whatsoever, but hey, not gonna stop me from trying to guess, ya know?  Just too much fun!

I loved that teaser, and it's great to finally see Dash's father! Maybe he encouraged her to be an athlete.

Ha ha ha ha ha, just because you cheated with your reality warping chaos admin powers to find some amazingly adorable art before I did, doesn't mean you have superior devotion .

 

I'm curious what directions the fandom will go with this, now that she has an established parental figure we'll obviously get more art. Some eager artists have already started putting out high-quality drawings. Perhaps we'll get more fics about Dash's childhood as well. I always enjoy those and have considered writing one .

I have to say they weren't very creative about this one. He's pretty much the exact Stallion version of Rainbow dash but i guess if he didn't have the trademark rainbow mane we would probably still be wondering if it was actually her father or not.

I don't really want to see Dashie's parents (or Fluttershy's, or Applejack's) in present-day Equestria... it would be kind of jarring. I don't give much thought to them.

This doesn't seem to be out of the realm of likely possibility. They're a pegasi as well who lives in Cloudsdale as well by the looks, since they went to this announcement of the Games, but their eye color is the biggest clue. It's very similar to Dash's.

Ok, this is pretty cool. Not only do we get to see Rainbow Dash's father, but finally a pegasus in the show has an on screen father. Lets hope we get to see him in season 4.
