Season 4 Preview & Info [Spoilers]

I'm really hoping we see more slice-of-life episodes similar to season 1. Not that I don't love a good adventure story, the episodes where the ponies stay in there humble abodes in Ponyville and just let life's wacky antics get in the way seem to make the best ones. For example "Suited for Success" and "Cutie Mark Chronicles" are some top-notch episodes and don't involve big things happening. Or if we do get more action packed ponies I'd really like to see more of a story arc, maybe something similar to "It's a Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door"? That would be the definition of awesome!

Seeing this closer I also have another theory. They said Pinkie has a musical episode. I'm wondering if for some reason Pinkie spends time with each of the Mane 6 in this episode and they all have a song. Perhaps she wants to learn more about what makes her friends happy or something?

Well, here's my speculation (probably nothing new from what other fan's have said, I haven't had the chance to read tha many opinions of this content yet )

 

Clip 1 -  I'm guessing this is the 'disability episode' that was mentioned a while back. I suspected that it was to do with Scootaloo. Also ties in nicely to Faust's original intentions of having Scootaloo being bullied for her lack of flight ablilities. Also seems to be nicely connected to 'Game's Ponies Play' which I always imagined as having a sequel or two connected to the games. Looking foward to this

 

Clip 2 - Super hero parody to the max! Not sure if it's a dream sequence (judging by Spike opening his eyes and standing up at the start) or maybe even an alternate universe! Guess we'll have to wait and see

 

Clip 3 - I have a feeling this is connected to the 'Pinkie PIe's family episode'. Applejack and co. are teaching her what family is all about. Judging by her actions, clearly wanting to be involved - I have a feeling the episode will be about Pinkie PIe feeling left out of her family (sort of summing up the common childhood fear of being ashambedof  family or being seen with family in public and thinking everyone else's family is amazing compared to their own). Whee, speculation!

 

Clip 4 - Now this has just got to be the long fan awaited 'Luna and Celestia past' episode that was even hinted towards in Twilight's Hot Topic spot. Twilight appears to be literally taking the spot of Celestia in her time travel adventure, hence Twilight noting Celestia's disappearance in her confusion, and the way Luna addresses her ('your precious (sun) light'). This could be a really great episode, glad the writer's took on the challenge!

 

Now to wait until winter......crud. Atleast I've got Futurama to keep me going until then

So, the Equestria Games aren't gonna get glossed over. That's a relief, I was hoping they wouldn't set up something so significantly built up and then pretend it doesn't exist.

 

I guess this is part of what they meant about season 4 exploring things in season 3. I just hope this also includes Discord; you don't just ignore doing something like that, especially after saying it was done to give more elbow room for writing about him.

I must say, I am very looking forward to the next season.

 

1) It's about time they addressed Scoot's little dilemma, poor thing's been left alone far too long.

2) Something tells me Spike's been indulging himself into one too many comic books since we last left him. XD

3) If this song sequence is as bouncy as it is in storyboards, I can't wait for the final product.

4) So Nightmare Moon is back... but now that you folks mention it, the princess' backstory ep doesn't look so farfetched with this.

 

Add to so many songs, new characters, new settings... this is gonna be the most intense ride yet. Onward to the new season!

Okay, I am officially hyped!  More Pinkie Pie and her family.  I've always wanted that!  We all need more Zecora.  Superhero ponies=AWESOME!  And that Apple Family song was great.  But what really pushed the hype to critical mass was Nightmare Moon's return.

 

I think we all know the reason Pinkie Pie was allowed to sing with the Apple Family.

If you look closely at the bottom right of the animatics for Season 4 of MLP:FiM, you'll notice that there are some numbers present. There are a total of 4 animatics. Each animatic has a starting number of 4 which could mean season 4 and the numbers after that would mean the episode, for e.g, the first animatic has number 405 meaning episode 5, the spike one is 406(episode 6), the apple family one is 409(episode 9) & the NightmareMoon one is 401(episode 1).

Superhero scene- It looks like spike has been dreaming a lot about comic books hes possibly reading

 

Apple family song - I cant wait for animations for this, it is really catchy and includes pinkie pie singing! I just cant wait much longer

 

Luna turns to Nightmare moon once again - Now this is what had me hanging on by the edge of my seat. I think this will be the season 4 premier episode cause it makes much more sense that the season 3 finale was when twi turned to a princess and the premier episode consists of Luna being jelous

 

There are so many questions and this will make the wait feel much longer

The interesting tie-in here is that Rainbow Dash probably cares more about the Equestria Games than any other pony. I'm pretty sure she'll let Scootaloo know that in no uncertain terms during the episode - which will add to Scootaloo's anxiety. But I've no doubt that she'll be incredibly supportive to her, too.

That would be an extrodinary outcome. Perhaps the reason she can't fly is simply because she never had someone to teach her (she doesn't live in Cloudsdale, and maybe her parents aren't pegasi)? Now that she's under the wing of Rainbow Dash, she could very well be the one to teach her.

 

I would enjoy that so much. Regardless of what happens though, I doubt the Crusaders won't be accepted as the representatives. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are always proven wrong. I'd expect bittersweetness.

I've seen some people freaking out over the tweet said Luna was going to become NMM "again", which seems to imply that Luna's transformation we see in the sneak peek is not her initial transformation. There's two ways I see this going down:

 

1.) It's just a mix-up of words, and we really are witnessing the original birth of NMM.

 

OR

 

2.) Twilight ends up in an alternate universe of some sort.

 

I don't care what happens, as long as I like where it's going, and how. And from what I see...I really like where it's going.

I get the feeling Twilight is somehow witnessing the past, and Luna is talking to Celestia but Twilight is seeing it through Celestia's point of view. I've had the thought that perhaps Celestia and/or Luna wanted Twilight to see what exactly happened a thousand years ago, so that they might be able to allow the new princess to learn from Luna's past mistake and not repeat it, and perhaps they're letting her travel through their memories. But perhaps something else is going on, considering Twilight's confusion.

 

Also, it might not have been brought up yet, but the various clips show certain numbers at the bottom-right. 405 (Crusaders), 406 (Superheroes), 409 (Apple Family), and 401 (Nightmare Moon). It seems quite likely that these are episode-numbers, so that means the Luna clip is actually part one of the premiere. Judging from the clip, it looks like it could be at the very end of part one before it goes "To be continued...", or perhaps Luna will appear after the cut and tell her that 'this is what happened to me a thousand years ago', explains things and we continue through a history lesson.

Now that i thought about it, i think the scootaloo scene is somewhat going to be like another version of sonic rainboom. Think about it Scootaloo is like rainbow dash and diamond tiara and silverspoon are like the guys who were teasing rainbow that she couldnt do a sonic rainboom.
