I can definitely appreciate the art style, exluding their head shapes. Other than that, I'm definitely going to have a look at this. I may even reference the art style in my drawings, since it is simple and looks decent. If it does become a drama, however... then WTF.

I was a bit...mixed at first when I first saw the ponies. I've seen different so-called "confirmed" versions of Equestria Girls but I was not expecting THIS. I'm not saying I hate them, I have no intention of not liking them. They're slowly getting to me since soon they'll be dolls. However, Both Rarity and Fluttershy do look pretty.

The character designs look weird and I hope that they get redesigned. I am really glad that this show has nothing to do with FIM and that the studio making FIM has nothing to do with this new show.

well because in the song the lyrics are "boots on hooves, bikinis on top", hence they all wear boots although i think dashie needs some knee high steel toe combat boots to reflect her rebel attitude. i think they should maybe give some human names that sound close to their pony names or sumthin.

Remember, folks, this is CONCEPT art.  It means they're still putting together ideas and designs, but they haven't necessarily worked out all the details yet.  The cutie marks might very well end up on their wrists later on.

Seriously though. I have a great idea for the Brony community as a whole. Let's all judge the new show on the basis of one still image. Let's take a blind guess at the plot from that one image, and commence the storm of hate!

 

I can't say I'm crazy about EQG as a concept - as somewhat of a purist, I feel like this idea in general has the potential to seriously disrupt the peaceful purity of FiM as I've come to see it.  But I originally said that I didn't have any desire to watch "a little girl's cartoon", and I came to really love FiM itself after giving it a chance.  What's to say EQG couldn't turn out to be in the same boat?  We just won't know until we see it actually happen.  So the only fair thing I can do is wait.

Alright, I'll start off on a positive note...

 

I really like their designs.  They are all faithful to their pony counterparts, which is very, very good.   And this is like, pretty good anthro if you ask me.   

 

Now, the show itself doesn't seem like the greatest thing in the world.  It seems like Hasbro's cashing in on the brony fandom and milking it for all its worth.   I just hope that they put in the same type of thing that goes into Friendship is Magic.

I'm not quite sure what to think about this. I mean it's great they added winged Twilight to balance out the wings/not-wings ration, but still. How are we going to call those girls with wings now? It wouldn't make sense to call them pegasi since they are no longer ponies.

 

And I'm a little confused to what they are now. Are they anthros? If they are to be considered as anthros does this mean Hasbro is aiming for the furry community now? And are those tails, or just really long hair?  And some of the skin color like the one on Pinkie, AppleJack or Rarity look fine, but wtf is it with Rainbow?

 

I have so much questions and this new set of artwork has let me even more confused than before.

Oh... So now Twilight is a Pegasus and not a Unicorn or an Alicorn? ...Great. Also, what's with their hair? Are those tails, or is that just their hair?

 

Like... Why would they give them wings and colorful skin, but not unicorn horns and tails? They're clearly anthro-morphic. What, did they think tails and unicorn horns were weird, but colorful skin and wings weren't?

 

I also don't understand why they would put them in a High School. Seriously, people get made fun of for simply being short or overweight in High School. Imagine how much bullying the ponies are going to have to deal with with wings, colorful skin, and names like "Rainbow Dash." 

 

If the ponies are going to be shipped into High School relationships with generic characters like Brad Brady, captain of the High School football team, who is very sensitive, and doesn't want to be a mean kid. Fluttershy falls "In love" with him, and helps him get in touch with his feelings (D'awww) and together, they teach the jocks that you don't need to be mean to be popular, and everybody is nice and happy. If I see that happen, I swear to god, I will shove a cactus up my rectum, crap it back out, and eat it. I'd much rather do that, then continue to see MLP getting butchered.

 

However, I also believe that this show has potential, and I can see it being very successful... If done right. I'll be sure to give the show a chance, after all, looks can be deceiving.

I mean I'd be happy to watch it if it didn't have too much teen drama. And I'm sure a lot of canon relationships will appear off you know what I mean. Are the wings gonna be used or are they just for declaration? I have no idea. Whatever happens I'm looking forward to it.

I like the designs. I think they look great. Now, I don't have high hopes for the show, but at the very least the designs of the human (who are more anthro, really) look great.

 

So, still iffy on the show, but like the look.

I can't help but think that this picture was just fan art that NY Times mistakened for real work. I really hope they get rid of the wings and ponytails and ears. Not the colored skin, though. The colored skin reminds me of shows like Doug.

I never thought that the "Friendship is Magic" designs looked horrible.  I had not ever been interested in "My Little Pony" in the past. But when I first saw the character designs for the new show, I thought that they looked pretty cool. 

 

As I said before, my only concern is that resources that could be going to "Friendship is Magic" will be allocated to this new show instead.  I would hate to think that we could have gotten a theme park or a movie or something, were it not for "Equestria Girls."

These....actually look pretty decent compared to the leaked version. Granted, I still have problems with the designs, but I'm warming up to them.

Meh idk what to think about it right now after looking at it. When it comes out I'll check out an episode to see if it is good or not. But anything can go either good or bad we will all just have to wait and find out.
