Concerning Mayor Mare...

I was just wondering if anypony else really liked Mayor Mare. For some reason, I've always liked Mayor Mare. Maybe I like her design or something. Anywho, comment below if you like Mayor Mare and post your reasons.

Yeah, I like her. I think they could potentally make a lot more use for her(I can think of some funny jokes and scenes to use her for)

She's not my favorite character, but that's probably because they don't show her as much as they should. SHe definitely deserves more show time, though.

She kind of reminds me of the mayor from Powerpuff Girls who's name is literally mayor. In the episode where he was running for office against Fuzzy Lumpkins his campaign slogan was "Vote for Mayor for mayor."

Mayor Mare is a minor character, so I'm guessing there's not really a lot of love for her, but I might be wrong. For a minor character, I quite like Mayor Mare, but I just think she needs more show time.

For a moment I thought this was gonna be smack talk about best pony besides Rarity and Granny Smith, and I was about to find you and kill you.

I'm an avid fan of Mayor Mare. My top three are, (as mentioned, after all), Rarity, Granny Smith, and her. I think she's got the most adorable voice and she seems so cute <3

I think of Mayor Mare as a really good character, she reminds me of the mayor in Powderpuff Girls. Pretty much, a character who literally has mayor in their name and I guess they don't show her enough.

Too bad that now that Tara let it be known that Twilight is sticking around Ponyville that the Mayor is out of a job. Let's face it, Twi ran circles around her in Winter Wrap Up, she never got the funds from Depy's accident, she dies her hair, and now a princess effectively outrules her.

She does deserve more screen time. They could do an episode where they have elections for mayor, and have one of the mane 6 or even a new villain show up to try to replace her. Could make for some fun antics. But we can dream eh?

Flim Flam brothers show up during the election and campaign for Flim to become the new mayor of Ponyville, and the Mane Six have to help Mayor Mare with her campaign in order to help her win the election.

 

If only this was a real episode... I would watch it so hard I would cry.

No opinion, really. She is a politician tho, therefore she has to be evil, corrupt, thief and who knows what else. On a serious note, what bugs me about here is that I can't really assign any age to her, based on her voice and looks. Is she old? Is she closer to the Mane 6 or retirement age? I don't know and it irritates me.

 

 

As for the "deserves more screentime"... Think about it, she already had more screentime than majority of the background ponies. Or more lines at least. The word deserve just doesn't fly.

Well, she is a minor character, not a background character, so that would make sense. Background ponies weren't really mean to have a whole lot of speaking lines.

I like Mayor Mare. She's so optimistic but there's not that much fan art or anything about her. She's a really nice mare; but she's never in any of the episodes though.

I think the mayor is an ok side character. I don't have anything against her. She's friendly and cute. The hair dying scandal was funny and cute to me. If Twilight is taking over her job, maybe Mayor mare can still do the administrative stuff in town hall so she won't be left with nothing to do

Well, I wrote what you quoted a long, long time ago, but I definitely meant "minor" characters. I don't really call those real background ponies with any name, because they are for all intents and purposes just part of the set at any give time. So take it as "...more lines than other secondary characters with multiple appearance in the show..."... Or maybe tertiary characters? Luna and Celestia could very well be called secondary, which would upset the balance...

Yeah, I like Mayor Mare. I dunno why, but I think about this world full of magical ponies and all of them having this extra special talent, and then there's one whose talent is politics and bureaucracy, and that's funny to me.

She's probably going to raise your taxes a bit. I'd say watch out for that, but to be honest, there's probably so much paperwork involved it won't be another four years before you actually feel the tax hit your bit bag.

I have no issues with her and it will be interesting to see how she relates to Twilight now. I don't see Twilight taking her job and there is likely a mayor in all the towns and cities in Equestria. As far as age I'd say middle age for sure.
