On a typical school night I get 6 hours of sleep, because I get up at 6 am and I usually got to bed around 11:30 pm. I usually don't finish my homework until it's really late, and after words I always need an hour of downtime before I go to bed. That's when I usually go on the forums, or read fanfics.

  • 8 months later...

4-8 all over the week I´d say...

Too few to be healthy, I fear :/.

Well, I´m getting along xD. No, really it´s okay for me, it´s not like I`m tired all the time.

About 5 hours on weekdays. Yeah, five. Celestia knows how I make it through school without drifting off, but I do. Translates to a comfortable 11-12 hours on the weekends.

Apparently I should be getting 8 hours on weekdays. That's never gonna happen. :)

Around 4-8, maybe 7 hours.. Sometimes a little longer during the weekends. I don't get a lot of sleep, it's not healthy continuing this lifestyle. I need to try getting more sleep, 7 hours is actually a good time for me. I sometimes get less, well I often get less sleep. Just seeing this thread reminded me that I need to fix this and start getting more sleep. 7 hours is good, but I think it would be better to get more.

Usually seven or eight hours of sleep. On rare occasions I get ten hours. If I really luck out it is twelve hours. I really need to start sleeping earlier so I won't be so tired during the day. Staying up most of the night is really starting to take its toll on me now.

Far fewer than I should on any day. Somewhere around 4 or 5 I would guess. I go to bed extremely late and then wake up before getting some proper rest because I don't want to sleep away the entire day.

So, how many hours of sleep do you get?
Myself, it depends. On the weekend I'll get between 4 and 8 hours, but on weekdays I get about 10.

Just letting you know, your thread got merged with one just like it from a while back. Please run a search of existing threads before starting one, if you haven't been.

I hardly sleep at all. Sometimes I go without sleep for 3+ days and then sleep for 20 hours or so. Other times I only sleep for 2 hours and feel great. I don't know why I have such an irregular sleep cycle but I guess it happens, plus the insomnia keeps me awake for quite some time.

In most cases I get between 7-8 hours which is not too shabby, one thing I have noticed is that the earlier I go to bed and wake up the less sleep I actually need in order to function and the faster I am able to get to sleep at night. When I had my 4am shifts at work I used to go to bed at 8:30 and would wake up feeling pretty good most of the time but when I didn't get much sleep I would feel 10 times worse than I would have if I went to bed and woke up at a more normal time. What was great about it is that most of the time when bedtime rolled around I would be so drained that I would drift off into a coma like state. Nowadays I tend to go to bed at 10 or 9:30 and wake up 6 or 5:30 depending on whether or not I have one of my 7am shifts at work. It is important that I get plenty of rest as my job is very physically and mentally demanding, trust me on this you have to have one hell of death wish to be a dairy clerk.

The last year or so has been extremely busy for me, so my body is used to sleeping in 4-5 hour chunks. This even carries over to weekends, where I'll try to sleep in but wake up at around seven anyway. I'm only now breaking out of that rhythm. I'll say 5-6 on average.

Unfortunately, when I do manage to sleep at all, I find that I wake up in less than 4 hours.  Usually.  I'll feel as if I've slept for a nice while but then I check the time and USUALLY I'll realize that I sleep for up to two hours.  That normally being the case.  Occasionally I'll get lucky and actually sleep for several hours but more often than not, I seem to have a bit of a problem going and staying asleep. 7-8 hours everyday. Even when I had 6 science courses to take in a university semester, a musical production of "South Pacific", and lots of tests going on. I actually have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 in spite of me NEVER staying up late at night.

If I have to work the next day, I try to be in bed no later than 11:30-midnight, which nets me about 6 hours. On weekends I'll stay up till about 2:30 and just kind of sleep till I feel like getting up, which is usually around noon or 1:00 PM.

I tend to fluctuate. Like, a lot. I consider my standard range as 7-8 hours, though I've been known to go even less, depending on what I'm doing during the day. On nights when schoolwork is at a peak, I generally sleep at midnight and wake up at like...sixish, though I've gone a bit later.
