Anyway, this is awesome. I'll see y'all there. As for what I'll be doing, I'm not sure. I was supposed to be on the "Best Pony Video Awards" panel, but I just found out that was cancelled. So, @Obsidian_Winter is either going to put me on another panel or hire me as part of the staff.

I'm not going, because I dare not attend a con. I will attend one maybe when I get my own place, which won't be for years. I hope the convention will still be happening when I actually get the guts to go, anyways.

 

Anywho, I hope everypony has a blast there, and I wish the MLPForums team best of luck. I will virtually high-five any staff member that wears something Woona-related.

Well, this is certainly news. It's nice that we can talk about Poniverse now, and if the brony community can be more integrated than it already is (by virtue of being the brony community xD) I suppose that's something worth exploring. I'm sure it will draw a lot of interest at the convention, but I hope the forums themselves get a lot of exposure out of it too. If our presence at BronyCon is successful, we should definitely brace ourselves for a lot of new members and pick up some new staff to deal with the increased traffic.

 

Also, Zoop's "rub my head for $5 booth" sounds a lot more successful than my "smack you in the head for free" booth. Maybe I should start charging people too?   (Or just limit my services to any FOX News people who may be covering the event.)

... don't think I'll be able to make it though. But there's still time, so maybe? I seriously cannot guarantee anything at the moment. I would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to go though.

Anyway, for those of us on the staff who do go, I wish them luck in spreading the word about our wonderful website and the coming network of Poniverse that will surround it, an excellent opportunity this is.

   I am now more excited than ever to attend! With these conventions for very popular fandoms (i.e MLP:FiM, Minecraft, etc.), I'd never think that I would be able to go, because they're typically far away. My heart literally jumped after reading that it was in Baltimore.

 

   I look forward to Poniverse, and the projects you mentioned. However, I do have some questions about the convention and Poniverse...

1. What has there been to do at the past conventions (so I can get an idea of what's at this one)?
2. What will become of Pony.fm and MLP Forums?

   Now I have to go tell my parents I'm a brony so I can have a ride there...

Finally, some insight into just what is hidden deep within MLPf. A shame we have to wait until August. I'm really interested in just what these projects involve, and just what it entails. I may need to pay a visit to BronyCon, just to see what all this is about.

 

I do wonder if it is solely of MLPf origins, or if the projects are being worked on by a large community, spanning several groups and websites.

 

It's all very interesting.

 

More information will be revealed as the convention date approaches, so people have something concrete to look forward to, rather than just vaguely knowing that we'll be showing a bunch of stuff called Poniverse.

 

Most of the Poniverse projects at this time are internally created by MLP Forums staff, but we are working with one external group that joined us with over 50 team members, and plan to accommodate more of those in the future. Poniverse is very much a community-driven undertaking, and I feel that most of the brony fan projects out there stand to gain something from working with us.

1) Heh, this is my first fan convention, too, so it'll be a learning experience for both of us, Prong.

 

Conventions are huge events where people with similar interests meet up and celebrate what they love - in BronyCon's case, it's a massive celebration of all things poni. Panels such as ours provide an opportunity for the fandom's and official show's creators to talk about and show off the stuff they make, the vendor hall is filled with merchandise to buy and booths to check out, BronyPalooza is a concert with over 30 brony musicians performing, and there will be thousands of fellow bronies there to meet and chat with. I'd suggest heading to the BronyCon website and taking a look around to get a feel for what's going on.

 

 

2) MLP Forums and Pony.fm are Poniverse's first two projects. They're not going anywhere, but linking them together under the Poniverse flag opens all kinds of opportunities for the two communities to integrate with each other and the future Poniverse projects.

Sounds great! I remember about midway through my MLP Forums lifespan I thought it about going to Brony conventions and handing out flyers for the site. This seems like a much better method though.

I was aware of this and internally tried a bit to plan this out. Even though I left the staff completely this doesn't change my position on this event, I wouldn't have attended and I wouldn't enjoy attending such a horrendously expensive event. 

 

But I do wish you all the best of luck in going and meeting up. Bring back some stories and pictures maybe.

I'm so proud of how far this site has come, even though I haven't been here since the beginning. Soon everyone will see my post count and realize how much of a loser I really am!

For anyone who formerly went to BronyCon because it was in the New York region, there is still hope! 

 

is a decent-enough transportation service running from the Sbarro's across the street from Penn Station in Manhattan that goes almost directly to the convention center.  It's not even expensive. Less than $20 a ride.  3 Hours.
