On a scale of 1 - 10 how would you rate your local radio station?

I would give all mine the lowest possible because none of them play classical.  I usually listen to my ipod in the car and when I'm home or at work I stream music from classical stations in New York and LA, which are apparently the only classical stations in the whole damn country.  What is this world coming to? >_>

I haven't listened to my local radio stations in a while.  Most of them play the same exact songs, yet brag at how many different songs they play.  It sounds as though they just make a playlist of a couple of songs and play that playlist allllllll day long.  You can hear the same songs a few times in one hour....  So yeah, I'm grateful for the internet at times like this and when I want to listen to a variety of music.

1/10 I hate radio to begin with but the pop shite that my local radio station plays is just pure dire. I can't listen to all that stupid drake and ne-yo and whatever R&B they want to play that day.

I'll stick to streaming my music from my iMac to the devices I want to listen to music on.

My local radio station is full of pop music, mostly the top ones. I have nothing against it really even if i dont personally listen to that kind of music but they play like 50 tracks over and over and over again so.

-2 for creativity and lack of genres

I have a bit of bias because I work at my local radio station but we may have one of the worst ones around. We are a music radio station that tries so hard to avoid playing music. I looked at the schedule for the 6 pm hour and we only have 4 songs playing the rest is news and ads. We also will go out to events and spend the entire day broadcasting from that event one time it was at a golf tournament that's as boring as it gets. I'll give my station a 2/10

Something I'll have to defend a bit is all the ads on the radio. At the station I work for we are required to play all the ads the music providers tell us to play in order to play the songs they give us and those lists have about 150-200 min of ads on them but we don't make any money on them so we have to also play local ads in order to make money so that's one reason why there's so many ads on the radio.

I have a classical radio station that I give a rating of 4 to. They occasionally play good classical music, but most of the time, they accommodate the boomers and the older citizens. And you know what that means... terrible advertisements about retirement homes and life insurance... Ugh. What's worse is that for every 5-10 minutes of classical music, there's about 10-20 minutes of advertisements. I just want to listen to good music! Plus, they even play tango music! Like, what?!

There aren't really many good stations where I live. The majority of stations are Country, Christian, or modern pop stations. The "oldies" stations no longer play many oldies, they mostly play 80s rock.

We have a classical station, but in the end, they do play a lot of the same stuff. I do appreciate that apparently some of the donors appreciate the oboe and bassoon, because oboe and bassoon concerti are frequently played.

Thankfully our TV service has a set of their own stations and has a legitimate Oldies station that does not play anything from the 80s or beyond at all. That's what I sleep to.

There’s no real “local” station where I live, since most of the stations are broadcast from the city. My favorites stations are country, alternative, pop, 80s-through-today, and the one that plays everything. There’s also Christian, classical, hip hop, and rock stations.

I really didn't care about our local radio station back in the day, it was weird and an old guy talked slowly and played old 60's music. I rate it 1/10.

I don't listen to radio today. Too much commercials.
