Maybe will be like the Trekkies of our generation and carry the flame for years to come while inspiring a endless wave of official MLP content so we can debate which generation had the best Princess in command.

Or even like the Doctor Who fans.

G4 Will last for a LONG time, just pointing that out. Oh and of course I will still be a brony, that's like saying after Sony made Ape Escape PS move (A game) will you still like the franchise?

It's... somewhat difficult for me to answer this question.  Will I always be an active member of the community?  No, and saying anything otherwise would be a lie.  Will I continue watching old episodes after the show is done for?  Probably not.  Will I always be comfortable in identifying myself as a brony?  That's a tough call, but I'm going to say... maybe.  Again, I really don't know.

However, I think what the most important question is: will I ever regret having been a brony?  The answer to that is absolutely not.  I've learned so much and have met so many great people; it would take one hell of a meltdown for me to actually ever regret joining.  If that's enough to say that I'll forever be a brony, then so be it.

I think even after G4 ends there will still be that part of me that will always be brony.  The show makes me happy and even after there are no new episodes I will definitely re-watch all the episodes, and who knows maybe when I have kids of my own MLP will return as G5, and a little bit of the brony inside will be brought back a little.  I can only dream smile.png

I'm still a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it ended in 2008, so I don't see why not. I may not be as active, but I wouldn't just stop liking the show.

Yes, because leaving a fandom entirely just because the show ends means you're not a real fan, at least as far I'm concerned :3 Harry Potter is done, kaput, over, and look how active their fanbase still is, and will continue to be? One example. One grain of sand on a beach of fandoms that all do the same freaking thing. 'Leaving the fandom' is a drama-born saying disease in this fandom. It doesn't usually, if ever, truly happen. When the show ends the fanbase may not be quite as gargantuan and 24/7 active as it is when seasons go on, but it's not going away as long as people call themselves fans of it.

Forever? why? Well im a huge Warhammer 40k fan still to this day even if I dont play the table top game anymore. I will always like the Lord of the Rings trilogy (the hobbit is also awesome but its not ''lord of the rings'')

I wont stop being a fan of something just because the  thing im a fan of stops being aired/produced

This question keeps coming up, and honestly it puzzles me greatly as to why people are worried about it.

Brony is being a fan of My Little Pony. So.... when do you normally cease to be a fan of something?

It really puzzles me that so many Bronies think of themselves as fans only as long as there is potential new content coming. As if when the show ceases production, they will suddenly dislike the content that's already been produced. That they will cease to be fans of My Little Pony. It's a really *weird* mindset for a fan.

Fans aren't normally 'out of sight, out of mind' kinds of people. That's the point of *being* a fan, that you don't give up on things that easily.

I'm a fan of the original Battlestar Galactica. I didn't stop being a fan of Battlestar Galactica when the show ended in 1979. I didn't like any of the follow on shows (Galactica 1980, or the 2003 remakes), but I didn't stop being a fan of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm fan of the 1979 Buck Rogers TV series. I didn't stop being a fan when the show ended in 1981, and my being a fan of that has since extended to the old comics as I find them. Same with Flash Gordon, Dan Dare, and the like.

So why is everyone so willing and prepared to give up on being a fan of My Little Pony?

This above ^^^

I’ll carry on being a brony as long as I’m a fan of the show being made or not: I have no idea on the ultimate answer because I don’t have a time machine to find out my future opinion of MLP FIM.

I think I'll stay a pegasister for a while afterwards, maybe participate in the fan art a bit if I can, still talk to the people... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't stay too long without the show though, the excitement would be gone.

I will still remain a fan of the show Friendship is Magic even after it ends, but I will still be very much upset just like when they discontinued Firefly. And if you ask my opinion, I don't want to see G5, I want to see Twilight and friends forever!!! I like this awsome show just the awsome way it is! Leave well enough alone!!!unsure.png

Sorry, that's just my opinion.

Personally, I don't really know. I'll most likely stop being a die hard fan like I am now :D, but I'll still watch an episode from time to time, remembering the good old days and stuff. But that's just a guess, I'll see when the day gets here. :/

  • 2 weeks later...

Being a brony doesn't mean only watching the show... for me it's a new lifestyle... i'm more opened to people, more talkative and easygoing and other stuff you know well... so probably i will stay in it for very long time

Well, yeah, there's not really a reason to not, there is an infinite amount of fan art, music, fan fics, etc., and all of it is awesome happy.png

And other bronies will continue to make these for many years. Like many other people said, Star Trek is a great example (I myself have not watched any of the older series), people still like it. Also, what keeps the fandom living are its fans, not the show itself, that is just what brought all of us out here to these forums (though the show is still amazing cant wait for S4wub.png)  So, yeah. I would still be a brony long after the show ends.

We all know what we signed up for. We're bronies to the end and the ones that leave aren't cowards, they just want to move on and that's Perfectly okay. Others that stay, like myself, will take a bit longer to say goodbye. For me, it's "Brony til I die" kind of thing.

Like Frozen? So do I. Check out the fanart thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/91305-frozen-fanart-thread/#entry2409999

Well I don't see why not.  I mean, I probably wouldn't have ever been a Brony by just looking at art and stuff, but if it ended, I would still be one, considering I did see the show.  I mean, who can resist cute, little Fluttershy? :3
