I personally think she really suits with being a princess and spite being an alicorn to be a princess I think it really goes well with Rarity though I'll prefer her as a unicorn.

While I would love to see Rarity with a major plot point and real wings, I don't think it will ever happen. There's no reason for her to become an alicorn even though she would look freaking fabulous as such. However, now that I think about it, I think she could become a princess...she has talked about marrying royalty before, and I don't see why that couldn't happen. While Prince Blueblood may not have been for her, she may get to meet another prince to fall in love with and I think that would be pretty cool; she would fulfill her dream of being part of the Canterlot Elite as well as being just awesome and princess-y, without the whole alicorn destiny thing.

Oh no, having any more of them becoming one already screams Mare E Sue especially Rarity. If it happened Rarity would never ever ever shut up about it, remember how Rarity acted in Sonic Rainboom when she got temporary wings? I realize that is a part of her character but they are going overboard with that side of her already which is a shame because she has a lot of potential as a character but it seems like they don't even know what to do with her most of the time.

That shouldn't affect your opinion on Rarity Just stay by her side, man. We did it through Season 3, we can do it all the way through.

 

I'd also support it if the others got there too, or else it'd just be poor plot and would multiply the hate.

 

But she's already a princess in my mind.

I think it would be entertaining to see her royal entourage try to keep up with her requests/demands as well as her penchant for being melodramatic.

 

It would be a good comedy/Rarity episode if it ever happened, plus given her comments to Twilight she would probably milk it for all it was worth which would be entertaining in its own right.

While Rarity MIGHT make a good non-Alicorn princess, I don't think the rest of the mane 6 should be, they don't appear to be either qualified or interested in such.

Just what exactly would Rarity be the princess of? If she is going to be a princess, she needs to have more than just the title of one, and personally I am sick of princess characters beyond belief. It's just a label that gets slapped on female characters to make them sound cute and appealing to little girls. Besides, we already have Twilight who at least had to work for her position, alongside Celestia, Luna, and Cadance, and I don't think anybody wants another alicorn princess. If Rarity became a princess, so would all the others, and I think I'd faint if I saw Applejack with large wings and a horn.

 

Rarity is already the queen of fashion, the belle of the ball, the pony who turns the most heads... as much as she might like it initially, being a princess is overrated.

Now this is a topic!! Lol, ok a silly one but fun none the less. Rarity talks alot about wanting to be a Canterlot elite, she also talks alot about wanting to be known world wide for her fashion. In short she wants attention. Being the oldest in a family that clearly has not exactly the most supportive nature to her choices and with a more then drop dead cute sister, Rarity might lack something in her past. To make her a Princess? Hmmm...nah.

 

She is too glued to her friends, to ever be seperated from them, as well as her family. Consider, Twilight fits this role better due to most of her entire life say the past 3 years, have been empty and friendlist study sessions. Rarity is one of the business owners in Ponyville, a town thats size requires her presence or at least that of a tailor. She WANTS to leave, but her element keeps her in check. That is why she is the ying/yang character. She is the balance. she must fufill all roles not just one.

 

Consider simple real terms. If she left to be a princess, her business would fail. Its like taken AJ off her farm, RD off weather patrol, Fluttershy from her cottage. These are elements in place for a reason. Twilights place was ALWAYS temporary, stated at the very beginning of the series. It wasnt HER library, it was where she was staying, not living.

 

Rarity desires attention, she is too humble to admit it so flaunts her flank and swishs her hair instead, using that smug "oh i should be royalty" come backs to cover up what she really wants to say. We all have been there, lie to yourself if you want.

 

BESIDES! We can't have Ra-ra being princess...SHE MUST BECOME NIGHTMARE RARITY!!!!!! Bwahahahahahahahahahah!

 

Oh come on, shadow-pony?! Gonna be the big bad, taunts all the girls trying to taint them, and like in the comic breaks down Raritys walls in her dream and boom we got a mid season drama villain. The writers basicly saying "ya we saved it, now use your power of friendship to bring her back and stop hateing" lol....hey a brony can dream, have you seen the art of her in nightmare form, nomnom!

Can i just say that Friendship is Magic came out, I was a little girl playing My Little Pony Crystal Princess: Runaway Rainbow, and the mai character you play as is Princess Rarity. And I know that many of the ponies were altered for MLP:FIM. Especially Rainbow Dash, I must say. And Rarity wasn't white and purple. She actually resembled Princess Cadence quite a lot.
