Is Soarin' a skirt-chaser?

Okay, I'm sure everypony noticed what caused Soarin' to crash.

Apparently he let himself be distracted by Mintie and...let's call the other one Razzle Dazzle.  Check out the look on his face:

The dude is not thinking of how great their personalities are.  If he does date Rainbow, she's going to have to keep him on a short leash.  Apparently the allure of sexy mares is to difficult for this stallion to ignore.

I think it was just an accident by him crashing.

After all, you have to greet and thank others for cheering you on.

That, and if he WAS distracted, I wouldn't blame him, otherwise, you'd blame me for the dress designs for EG. X_X

That moment can be viewed as it may, but I can't really see Soarin' being like that, not with his seemingly gentle and pushover nature as presented in the most recent episode.

Though, that could just be me and my general dislike of "skirt-chasing" and those who pursue it. *ponyshrug*

The classic case of an athlete running into something and getting hurt because they were too busy checking out the cheerleaders.

Oh Soarin, you perv.  :P

Anyways, I'm just kidding. I think him crashing was purely accidental.

Anyway, I wouldn't hold it against him one way or the other. Certainly wouldn't be the first time an athlete has been "distracted" by the cheering section, doon'cha knoo. </minnesotan>

So in the same episode he proves his steadfast loyalty to his friends, especially after how they treated him, he also shows he has an interest in ponies sporting cheerleader outfits.  Given the loyalty shown in this episode, and he's probably a single guy, I think that lucky special somepony in the future shouldn't have anything to worry about.

But what do I know, I apparently misjudged Spitfire, so I really can't say anything for certain anymore.

I think it would be funny if he was a ladies man

Don't you mean "a mares man"?

Way to ruin the joke.

Ooh, so he's Captain Jack Harkness except with more subtly! ...I like where this is going.

The fact he checks them out shows he doesn't take flying seriously even though he is a wonderbolt.

Yeah. If I had to draw connections between the Wonderbolts and the Crystal Gems from "Steven Universe", I would say that Soarin' is the Amethyst of the group in the sense that, even though he is a skilled flyer, he  doesn't take his role as a Wonderbolt seriously. Come to think of it, why didn't "Rainbow Falls" put more emphasis on that aspect. It would've been nice to get more dialogue from Spitfire or Fleetfoot to the effect of "Get serious! We need to be flying at 100% for the Equestria Games!". That would've solved a lot of the gripes that reviewers such as "Voice of Reason" had with the episode.

Makes you feel any better I bet that special somepony in his future will have to give him a few thwacks upon his noggin for errant gazes.

Oh there are far too many sexual puns and jokes, many inappropriate for this forum that can come from Soarin's mare stare incident.

I will admit on a side note though that the lavender mare does quite resemble Cloudchaser in terms of her appearance and mane, minus the fact that its combed down.

Alright alright comment rescinded. Its not my fault Rainbow chose Fluttershy for her Ponyville team and not you.

There's nothing that inappropriate about the scene. Many guys (and presumably stallions) go through this hormone and attraction stuff once they're in grade school, if not earlier. Just b/c you like a girl though doesn't mean that you plan to go to or past 2nd base.

Also for the record, this shouldn't affect the morality and lesson of the episode. Just b/c Soarin got distracted, and consequently was largely responsible for his own injury, doesn't justify what Spitfire and Fleetfoot did trying to ditch him for a new teammate. We all make mistakes and its quite frankly shocking that an allegedly professional, elite group that one would think prides itself in camaraderie would abandon their teammate for a small correctable mistake.

I might have to go back to the Gala episode and see if Soarin dropped his pie because he was checkin out somebody else's plot. The op may have noticed an undiscovered trend!

I hope this doesn't sound aggressive, but this question baffles me. A guy getting distracted by a couple of pretty girls doesn't make him a skirt-chaser...it just makes him a person (can we call ponies people? Hmm...).

Soarin's not a skirt chaser. HERE is a skirt chaser.

That being said, being distracted by cheerleaders for one reason or another is common. Maybe Soarin' wasn't distracted by the tiny miniskirts, but by how much he appreciated the cheerleading. He has a pretty innocent mindset, so I wouldn't put it past him. Either way, it was just a regular accident.
