Like what if hypothetically as a Brony Hater living the Anti Brony Dream I was going to form my own Anti Brony Nazi Party and round up all the Bronies and put them into concentration camps and kill all Bronies. You can't love and tolerate that.

 

I don't think the Anti Brony Nazi Party would get that much support. But would you love and tolerate if I want to kill every single last Brony and your whole families?

I don't think it means you have to love and tolerate the actual fact that you are being put into concentration camps, but rather in a situation like that you would still love and tolerate each other to keep each other strong thru the camp. That's how many of the Jews or JWs survived thru the camp. Cuz without support from those with you, it would in fact be impossible to survive.

Well..... the whole love and tolerate thing is very easy on the internet. As for people hating on it and being anti bronies in real life? much more rare than on the internet. 

 

I wouldnt tolerate seeing another brony being pushed around by some guy, I would tear him a new a-hole. Or you know... step in and help. 

 

You cant love and tolerate everything, but you can tolerate other peoples ignorance. Vocal stuff is one thing but you know if it gets physical its another matter.

I dont love and tolerate criminals. But i can tolerate people being ignorant and has a different view of the world than me. Because those people dont affect me. You will have little succes in making me mad by yelling words at me.

Firstly, "love" and "tolerate" aren't one and the same. It's possible to love someone without tolerating them.

 

Secondly, people are not their actions, so if I was put in a concentration camp for being a brony, I could (potentially) love my oppressors as humans and forgive their wrongs against me without loving or tolerating what they were doing.

Love and Tolerance does not mean letting others run over you multiple times. As shown in "Putting Your Hoof Down" Fluttershy Learns that there is a difference between being mean, and being firm. You can have someone mock you, make fun of you, put you down, hate you, ridicule you, etc, and you can turn the other cheek and get away from that person. But when that person follows you, you have to be firm and defend yourself without sacrificing kindness and compassion for that person.

I've never thought of "love and tolerate" as a commandment to be applied unthinkingly. Pacifism doesn't work anyway .. give bad people a free pass to be bad, and they'll be even worse.

 

If the phrase has any practical meaning, it's not that one should never pass negative judgement, only that you should take care to get the fullest story you can before you do.

True, but what is imperative is not to tolerate them, but to understand that they did many clever and even good things. I will admit to not knowing communism's history very well, but Stalin helped (well probably swung the course of the whole war really) the Allies to best the Axis. I can't say much for Chairman Mao, as I don't know very much on the topic. Hitler was a very good strategist, and realistically his vision for architectural Germany was quite beautiful. Furthermore, Nazi Germany was the first country to forbid testing on animals. He thought he was doing good, evil is commonly seem in people being horrible, knowing they're horrible and ignoring it. What I am trying to say is that it's not about tolerance and love in extreme cases, but rather to tell history as accurately as we can, and cast no man down as pure evil. It was Hitlers goal to erase truths in history and cast people down as pure evil, lets not make it ours.
