I'm just gonna slowly turn around and back away from this forum hoof by hoof... and pretend I never saw it because me getting into the forever ongoing,  Eternal Apple VS Android wars right now isn't in anyponies best interest. :okiedokielokie:

PC is just so overrated. Cool, you built a computer. That doesn't mean it can play games like an Alienware or Ps4.

As an Apple fan, I do have to say some of their stuff costs a lot, but is worth it.  They don't get viruses and last longer.  Sure, you can't play as many video games on them, but I'm not a huge PC gamer anyway.  Also, a lot of other phones cost the same, if not more than an iPhone...  Plus, you can get one really cheap/free on AT&T's site...

Don't know if we are talking about hardware, operating systems, customer service, consumer outreach, ecosystems, macroeconomics, ethics, etc. And what era specifically?

Apple, in all of their verticals and divisions, runs the gamut from amazing to garbage. The Hardware is a little overpriced, but solid. The ecosystem is great for the consumer, but if you have ever had to design an app APN for them, you may not feel the same way.

Then again, I'm not a fanboy, and when faced with a PC vs Mac ... I still choose a custom PC (though I need a Mac for Publisher).

Did you know that as of 2012 an iMac can have 4 ram slots

Also some Microsoft employees uses a Mac.

The iOS exclusives are better than android exclusives.

Many apps in the android market are sometime ports from iOS store

Yes I could agree the pippin is failure. Even Steve jobs hated it. So when He was CEO again he went on to make it better

Pretty much any good  PC motherboards have had 4 RAM slots for the longest time, some have 6 now....and some support up to 64GB of RAM.

Well here's apple's basic phone plan.

Make a useless feature (ie, color,) make it $200 more expensive, say it's the best phone a generation can have, have millions of people get fooled by scheme only to be ripped off.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it save equistria with its five candy coloured friends and shoot rainbows at bad guys using their necklaces and tiara unless you're celestia

Apple hasn't made anything worth a damn since the Power Mac. And even then, the Apple II was amazing for its time. Sometimes I wish Gates didn't bail Apple out of the toilet, but I understand why he had to.

Just jailbreak if you have an iPod, iPhone or iPad. There is so much more you can do with it that it won't seem overpriced.

This so much. Or if you plan on jailbreaking a future iPhone, just get an Android or Windows phone.

I am running a Mac with both Windows 7 Ultimate and OS-X Mavericks. I simply hate Windows. I use it because I game and make videos and everything, but I like Mac OS-X better for everything. It's faster on the same machine, more responsive, doesn't yell at me when I try to do stuff, the UI is comfortable and the package as a whole works together ridiculously well. I understand the fact that there is PC's that are better in performance for a lower price, but they don't have the feel or comfort that OS-X and the beautifully finished Mac line has. Sure, you can run games, but nobody likes a clunky UI, inconsistent performance, having to clean your entire machine all the time, having to run antivirus, poor drivers and the blue screen of death. There are many more reasons why I like OS-X over Windows. And pure performance, for me, is not enough reason to get a PC.

I agree, Apple is way overrated I just got this Iphone 4 for free last year because every year they release a new phone and phone companies release plans that come with 1 gen old phones for free. We will be getting a free upgrade again soon.

PC is just so overrated. Cool, you built a computer. That doesn't mean it can play games like an Alienware or Ps4.

Um, this hurts my head. Both of my friends built PC's for a little over $400 that play todays games on high settings without issues. I myself went a little more on the expensive side but that's because I wanted to invest into the future. But if you just said Alienware... oh god I'm going to be sick... jesus. I love the PS4 and all, and it definitely is a huge improvement from the PS3.

http://www.ign.com/wikis/playstation-4/PlayStation_4_Hardware_Specs

With a console there is always limits though. Sony can't sell you something too expensive, because the average consumer won't be able to afford it. But they didn't sell you something bad at all, it just can't be upgraded really. They have to have a budget. To say a PC can't play games like a PS4 is probably one of the most ignorant things I've heard on this forum.

I spent about $900 on my PC because I just prefer playing on it now a days. I guess it all depends on preference. But don't go claiming crazy stuff. People are just too afraid and think getting into building a pc will be too expensive/time consuming. I went overboard with mine, but there are so many choices you can go with for a budget build that can play games. Then you can even upgrade it over time if you really want to. It took me a mere 3 hours to build because it was my first build and I wanted to do it right. I would imagine if you had me do it again it wouldn't take a lot less now that I'm comfortable. I at first never wanted to try my luck because I didn't want something to go wrong and have had wasted my money. I feel so accomplished now that I have actually done it though. I don't brag about my pc either.

I don't think apple sucks. But I simply would not buy any of their devices. Because I prefer customization over simplicity. And I am more into building my own programs and designing my own themes. That's why I will be sticking with Android/Linux and Microsoft.

But I mean simply with no better words for. Apple did a great job making a product that is easy to use and innovative at the same time. Ex the original IPod.

My Compaq had four RAM slots. For one, it was a Compaq. Secondly, it came from an era when hard drives were the five and a half inch platters.

So Windows doesn't run as smoothly on a competitor's machine than said competitor's OS? That it looks more aesthetically pleasing to you, even if every other one looks exactly like it, nevermind the vast market for custom PC cases? You're not engaging in file management on what is essentially a file manager with a graphical interface? Or antivirus? You're not updating your drivers? No wonder your machine doesn't run smoothly. But that just might be because said machine isn't up to par to actually running an operating system and not a glorified art program console.

Just saaaaayin'.

The only Apple product that doesn't have a good-enough competing product is the iPod.

Not all iPods. Just the nano and up. The shuffle sucks ass - you can get the same kind of player from Samsung for 20 bucks instead of 50.

I really wish that there was a competing product, though. I would love to own an MP3 player that could fit all of my music (I currently have at least 10GB of music on my current iPod) and I would like to be able to play certain songs whenever without actually owning the music - so it looks like an iPod Touch with a Spotify Premium account would be ideal for a music lover like me.

I would really like something where I could at least replace the battery without feeling like I was performing open-heart surgery, but what can you do when Samsung's best player only holds 8GB of music? :/

At least I was able to get my new laptop to have Windows 7, and that Android isn't going away anytime soon. Android's interface is way better than the iPhone's IMO.

I don't really see how Mac's OS is more "user-friendly" than Windows 7. A lot of both interfaces are similar IMO.

I like Apple, I had an iPhone for a few years and loved it. ^^

As far as everything else goes, especially the Mac computers, they're overpriced. ^^

They don't get viruses and last longer

Can I just say that I really hate this argument for Apple/against Windows?

Because, if you have a brain, PCs don't get viruses either.

Microsoft just admits that Internet Explorer has a bug that causes a security leak? Well, if you're not an idiot, you weren't ever using Internet Explorer in the first place. You were using Firefox or Chrome.

If you're not an idiot, you won't even have to pay for anti-virus software like McAfee or Norton (which don't really work anyways). You'd spend 2 minutes on Google and find out that you just need Microsoft Security Essentials, and just scan your computer once in a while.

As for lasting longer... that's not a guarantee. My friend, who is a Mac lover, got her Macbook Pro in 2007, the same year that I got my Dell Inspiron. Her Macbook died a few months ago. My Dell never died. And it's funny, because my Dell ran Windows Vista and had some really loud hardware and tended to overheat, so it seemed like that was the one that was going to die first.

But it never did. I got my new laptop and if I wanted to turn on my old laptop, I would. (but I really really don't want to)

See, my SHITTY laptop lasted longer than her immaculate Macbook Pro.

Also, honestly, why would I ever want a laptop where I couldn't even replace the battery, let alone upgrade the RAM or the processor?

I'm not trying to say that Macbooks are shitty. They are NOT by any means shitty computers. They are great in some aspects. But "they don't get viruses and they last longer" is a really poor defense for Macs and it's a shame that a lot of the people who own them don't even know the proper reasons for getting a Mac...

Lol brohoof the people above me. Personally I think you should do some research before defending either side. And it seems like that has been done. Or atleast common knowledge is taking place here. Yeah the thing that sucks about apples is the batteries. Or just the hardware inside in general. Because if your warranty is gone. Your macbook is screwed unless you really know what your doing. And yeah sadly many Android players specifically in the Samsung dev part music player tend to have crap storage... But in many cases Android phones and tabs in general most of the time provide an external storage slot. Apple needs to pick up their game in some areas soon... Or soon they will maybe get screwed.

Geez, I can't even post an opinion without being insulted around here, can I?  I don't use internet explorer and for the record, one time I did go around with just microsoft security and some other free virus protection and I got a virus (no i didn't download anything and I use chrome).

Apple's not terrible, but it needs to think twice before they leave us iPod holdouts in the dust.

My 160GB iPod Classic got corrupted a few months after I bought it, and I got it refurbished by Apple.  But lo and behold, it still didn't work!  I wonder if they even care about their old stuff and just assume everyone's going to get an iPhone and are directing all their best services to them.

I just want to march into an Apple store and complain directly and publicly that Apple has made a cheap product.
