Spongebob (Old) vs pinkie pie

who is funnier, better or who you prefer.

 

I am talking about the old spongebob not the new one.

 

To me spongebob has been my favourite character since I was 4 and he still is, I still watch the show and don't care what people say about it.

 

pinkie pie is awesome but she is no where near as good as spongebob is to me.

 

so I am being a little bias but this is my opinion.

 

and I know a lot of you are going to vote for pinkie pie because you are bronies but spongebob has always been a big part of my life.

Though not the funniest character of the show, I find Pinkie Pie quite funny, she definitely gets my vote.

Spongebob's worn on my nerves so very much because of just how often I've had to listen and watch it *it's my sisters' favorite show, she got my mom into it, between the two of them they've watched every of the hundreds of episodes, hundreds of times over the past decade*, to the point where I now despise it.

 

But even if I didn't, Pinkie's humor style and personality are far more funny and less annoying than SB's.

If we're only talking Spongebob before season 4, then that's a doozy. They're both pretty funny, and in the same way for the most part.

 

I think I'll go with PP here, just because PP knows how to be mature and act like an adult, something that even old SB never really did (or maybe he did, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

Why would we only include old Spongebob? I like Spongebob through and through. I actually like Spongebob as a show considerably more than MLP.

Some people think that SB became worse after the movie in 2004. Not necessarily bad, just worse than it once was.

 

If the poll included post-movie Spongebob (the character) as well, for me (and I suspect OP) it would be no contest who's a better character. SB just seems to have gotten meaner and yuckier in recent years, and I'm also not a fan of the new heights that Squidward's torment is reaching in particular. I feel that Pinkie Pie sometimes suffers from iffy writing too (see Filli Vanilli), but since FiM hasn't been on the air nearly as long, the show hasn't had a chance to jump the shark quite yet.

Well, Spongebob as a show is funny. But its not necessarily all just Spongebob. Sure some is, but its the collective show together. 

 

So I guess as an individual character i'd lean towards Pinkie Pie, but really they're both funny in their own ways.

I chose the old Spongebob. Most of Spongebob's antics and jokes were actually more funnier than Pinkie Pie's. Some of Pinkie's antics kinda felt a little forced.

I prefer Pinkie Pie, mostly because the humor old Spongebob entailed usually was based on his stupidity, while Pinkie Pie isn't stupid at all and her humor is based on cheeriness and a lot of the time wit.

I'm aware of all that but including ONLY early Spongebob simply because the topic creator may only like the original is a bit unfair. If you're going to talk about a show or character you should be including ALL of their moments, not just the "better" ones. That's like giving Spongebob an unfair edge against Pinkie Pie (for those who actually agree with the early Spongebob > new Spongebob thing.)

I think it might just be me, but I think there might be quite a bit of bias asking this question on an MLP forum.

I'm not usually that into kids shows to be honest (I realise that statement is quite contradictory), but I think that Spongebob's humour is more family friendly in comparison to MLP: FiM.

Clearly Pinkie Pie is superior but I'm just saying.

Sorry, almost nothing can hold a candle to classic Spongebob.  If you go back and watch, you'll only see more jokes you missed or didn't understand as a kid and the humor still holds up.

Well next time I am posting on a different site about this topic, I am talking about the old spongebob not the new, and any way I just don't find pinkie pie funny just entertaining, spongebob was my first cartoon I ever loved and has stayed like that even up to this day, I will always prefer spongebob over pinkie pie.

I don't hate pinkie I just prefer spongebob over pinkie pie.

 

I still enjoy spongebob even the new one.
