My best guess is that Luna and Celestia have very very long life spans due to being tied to celestial bodies. On the other hand I would guess most Alicorns are just like everyday ponies. Let's say if both main princesses have a life span around 10000 years and Celestia around half or 3/4 done. Luna is the same age minus a little more than 1000 due to being frozen in the moon.

She's a member of a European royal family, can't remember which were famous for their big noses. (Habsburgs were known for their large jaws)

She was attempting to gain additional love from the audience which she could then use for energy. While her camera side would appeal to anyone who loves a good villian, the mirror appears innocent and kind. Almost Fluttershy yell like.

Based on Cadence's appearance we learned three things: 1. Alicorns are not immortal naturally. (Who would marry someone whose going to die after 65 years or so and then live as a widow forever.) (We have no proof of anyone but Celestia being long living, Luna's age appears to have been frozen for 1000 years and Cadence was a teen pony when Twilight was a filly. Which wipes out aging differences.) 2. Celestia and Luna arn't the only alicorns living atm. There must at least be 5. -- 1 boy - 4 girls at bare minimum Alicorns don't asexually reproduce 3. Spane (get it) is a real country either that or Italy (can't think of a pony pun) Celestia must have some fountain of youth or a batch of clones which she uses to stay immortal.

Shining Armor may only be good, at well, making a massive shield though. But we have very little evidence to show what else he has done magic wise. Maybe kickass power just runs in the family...

Where do you think she stacks up in raw power against the many other unicorns and alicorns? She is the Element of Magic which may not have been used in the defeat of Nightmare Moon since she seemed shocked that there was a 6th element. If Nightmare Moon >Celestia Celestia + Eoh > Nightmare Moon also Mane 6 with EoH > Nightmare Moon/Celestia Celestia + Luna with EoH = Mane 6 with EoH > Discord Twilight did block Discord's magic near the end of that 2 parter. So where is Twilight in power. Does she have the potential to gain the knowledge to actually overthrow Celestia alone? Would Nightmare Twilight be stronger than Celestia? What do you think?

Aside from Discord's return in either flashback form or actual re-chaosing of the Equestrian frontier; I see the changelings making at least a minor appearance in the future. Such as one of them infiltrating Ponyville and causing confusion. Based solely on the fact one actually did land far closer than the others. There will likely be at least one new villian. Myth based obviously. Furthermore I see a male alicorn at some point making a cameo. Maybe as the villian.

Logistics if it were a pony would have cried lol.

Aside from the Mane 6 fighting a ton of Changelings. The Royal Guard has taken quite a bit of flak for their complete collapse in their time of need. I have a few ideas on what happened. 1. Inteligence was lacking- for starters the Candence fiasco would have only came to light briefly before the fall of the shield leaving a mere few minutes, for any royal guards who saw the real Candence with Twilight charging the ceremony's location, to actually spread the news that the Princess was an imposter. Still leaving which enemy it was in the first place absent. The shield falling in itself would of shocked many of the guards regardless. 2. The city was infiltrated prior to the all out invasion- Changlings may have seized or intercepted intelligence reports. They may have captured a reinforcements train and replaced them with Changelings. 3. They were overrun- The Changelings used Mass Assault tactics and plainly overran the Royal Guard. The Chinese were known to do this in later stages of the Korean War and USSR in WWII. 4. There was still a battle occurring at the time- We only saw a few captured Royal Guards meaning others could of continued to fight as likely seen by the many large explosions during the outer-view shots. Additionally, since this show is still supposed to be for little kids in general, a massive battle scene with Royal Guards and Changelings duking it out with spears and swords wouldn't have been allowed. Unlike the Mane 6's hand to hand combat + party cannon/ Twi gun; the Royal Guards are equipped with spears which = stabbing which = blood. I bet they fought in the towers and in the streets, in the buildings, and in the gardens. They never surrendered! And if they lost the city, the Equestrian Empire, beyond the capital would carry on the struggle. And in God's good time, the Mane 6 would capture the EoH and liberate the "old"

I agree with a lot of this theory aside from them turning the ponies into Changelings. They need the pony's love to feed off of, I would see a more of a Body Snatcher's scenario where they from their intended HQ in Canterlot capture ponies and replace them so that they can feed. The pod Celestia was in in likely prevents her from using her powers. But I do like the thought of them once being ponies or equine-like

They may be still red, the lighting deflecting off her glasses could theoretically give them a more purple shade.

My best guess is that it was done outside the show. The others seemed to know she had a brother by how they responded to Twilight's shock. But they didn't know his position in the Canterlot military.

Amazing episode, the sheer evilness of the Changeling Queen proves all anti-bronies wrong. I've seen less sinister villians in "manly" shows. A ton of references were likely in there. Poor Celestia reminded me of the scene between the Emporer and Yoda just alignment switched. The Battle of Canterlot! Not to mention all the songs and assorted Tori Spelling funnies. Pinkie Pie has seen better copies of herself? Real Candence is nice. Luna was hilarious in 2 of her 3 lines. Vinyl Scratch lives in her DJ table. I still think the Elements are more powerful though since love seemingly only activates additional power. Since it seems hinted that Shining Armor at full power could have swept the city of enemies. AMAZING EPISODE!!! Are the guard in Canterlot run by the Nazis, Shining Armor raises his hoof to their salutes.

Awesome episode, I have no other words that can describe its awesomeness. I like the idea that Rarity and RD may have influenced Fluttershy into helping with the plot. I would guess RD came up with the idea to which Fluttershy likely at first attempted to stop. Then Rarity woke up due to she had already plotted to take a small lady-like bite. She decides to join in on RD's plot to which both them coerce Fluttershy into joining in on. They arn't going to bring the element of honesty for obvious reasons... Twilight wouldn't go along with any amount of coercing. Lastly Pinkie was hell-bent on protecting the cake, not eating it until after the judging. Leading us to the crime being comitted. Loved the references. Canterlot is likely a good distance from Ponyville, but it is the capital of Equestria, the country. Ponyville belongs to Canterlot's influence or else the Mayor wouldn't be a mayor and it would have its own army of sorts. One explantion for the long ride could be rather than the train going on the short length up the mountain, it went on a different route with less incline to make sure the treats didn't get destroyed. For example, the train headed to Fillydelphia and then headed to Canterlot on the route that slowly rises to Canterlot's elevation.

I say keep the ships for fanfics. Turning this into a battleground for homosexuals would likely cause uproar within the social conservatives who watch the show, not to mention Hasbro would start to take a beating from assorted social groups. In the end it would just create bad press for Hasbro as the viewers would be thrown into politics. Since in the end, Hasbro looks to make money, not throw their hat into a political arena likely the only shipping they ever show will be not related to the Mane 6 except Rarity's usual stuff. Along with being just heterosexual shippings that are truly blatant. Lyra and Bon-Bon are hinted but there's no canon proof.

I loved that quote. One thing that gives this show such a great following is the fact they do not dumb it down. Children are either are going to hop on or they will stay dumb.... That may sound extreme, but older shows never used to play as if children were complete idiots.

Fluttershy became a tree, I call Scootaloo chicken costume soon. A Rocky-like trainng montage, maybe references to Twister. Overall very fun to watch.
