  1. I would guess that it has a similar body, or set of bodies. The cartoon just never showed it. I'd call it High Court, or something of the sort. Maybe Supreme court. Not federal, because Equestria is not a federation... I think.
  2. I mean, I'd like to see if ponies have those firefighter carts that were more dangerous than the fire itself.
  3. 1. The Royal Guard would fail to do anything about it until it was too late. 2. Celestia would be defeated. 3. ??? 4. Luna would show up and ask what she missed.
  4. The problem, at least the way I see it, is that 'in continuity' is a vague expression. Is it in continuity in the sense that it happens later in the chronology? Yes. But it also completely ignores G4 as a told story and just keeps grasping at characters and a few ideas. And that is also 'in continuity'. What do I mean? That no references to G4 should exist, and that G5 should be its own contained thing.
  5. I have that book. Read it once and barely remember anything at all from it. Luna had a manticore friend, or something. Also Show Don't Tell died because of the format. In reality, with the comics and books MLP speedran LucasArts lack of unified vision. The idea of a alicorn land makes zero sense when you think about how Twilight became an alicorn. And that is how secondary canon is created.
  6. No. It ran its course. What it did is done, and what it failed to do should remain untouched. In fact, I think that G5 should distance itself as far as it could from G4.
  7. The Titanic. It was quite overrated. As far as MLP anyone can ship anyone to anything to their heart's content. But if you put a gun to my head and told me to choose a ship to erase from existence, it would be Dislestia.
  8. Equestria has managed to single handedly fix the largest geopolitical conflicts in the world by uniting Russia, China, the US and the EU against a common enemy. I doesn't matter what side I join. Equestria is the new Africa.
  9. This sounds like the 'pony magical shields vs modern weaponry' conversations way back when. Basically, the consensus is that people just don't understand the amount of energy involved in a bullet. Much less in the physics of a bullet. Even less in what is involved in nuclear fission/fusion. The problem is that given how soft MLP's magical system is, any conversation is pointless, because you can always argue that magic can do whatever you want.
  10. Ban all people that think that the fandom must be enjoyed one way or another. You know, the gatekeepers that think there is a prim and proper way to pony.
  11. What if someone put pineapple (or any other topping you don't like) on your pizza?
  12. I rate it a solid 'meh'. I'm still waiting for it to make it worth investing my time in it. It would be a lot easier if it didn't try to so hard to associate it with G4, which had a lot more charm and was so easy to enjoy, even with all its shortcomings.
  13. Uh, second episode? Rainbow Dash refused to join the whatevers when Nightmare Moon tried to fool her into betraying her friends.
  14. @TacodidraReally? That is an interesting comparison. I think that Sprout has a lot more going on than Neighsay. My impressions are that the latter is just a bigot for the sake of the plot, while Sprout had a very interesting background of being a frustrated loser in Hitch's shadow that got to experience a bit of 'success'. That makes him much more interesting. Then again, I don't really know Opaline nor Misty. Care to elaborate on that?
  15. One of the things that would have hooked me to G5 would be if he had become a villain. Perhaps 'the' villain. They had everything. Background and a great origin. But no, they had to waste it.
  16. They're fictional characters. There is no ship that shouldn't exist.
  17. It's okay. It just has big shoes to fit in some more demanding people's eyes. To me, the biggest problem was trying to cling to G4. It really kills it for me when it's so generic and souless.
  18. When the cartoon started I believed that there was a message in the Elements of Harmony. It's pretty obvious and on the nose that there is something larger than the sum of all parts that makes things work if everyone does their part. And I'm not talking about anything supernatural, it's literally that things work out when you accept differences and coexist, work together toward a greater good.
  19. No. I think she fits is perfectly. What I mean is that the other alicorns didn't fit very well.
  20. Gee, where did I put my musket?
