  1. I am totally in love with maps and have been all my life. This map expansion is exactly what I wanted to see, even if all of the labels were stripped off. By the way, for everyone wondering about that skull mountain: on previous maps it's been labled "Arimaspi Territories" and that species is what the Grogar-like monster that stole the artifact from the Griffons was. So I'm pretty sure it's not a place we'd ever see visited. What impresses me so much about the size of this map is the sheer scale of the territory covered, and how much it makes me wish we had a map that was properly to scale. This map shows us, at the very least, all the way up to close to the north pole of the planet, and down just to the north of the south pole as well, showing that Equestrian territory (which only extends to about the edge of the Macintosh Hills, those red mountains through which the southern rail line passes) is easily, when taken to scale, the size of the continental United States. If we extend Equestrian territory down past the mountains to the end of the rail line--which would make sense given the rail line is strictly within Equestrian territory, and yes I count the griffons as being part of Equestria as otherwise they wouldn't have been able to participate in the Equestria Games--that includes all of Mexico as well, if not possibly the rest of Central America. In other words, Equestria is freaking gigantic, far more so than the show has implied, what with all distances being crossed by the speed of plot. It's making me want to significantly ratchet up my previous estimates of their population. I was originally hazarding a guess that Equestria had a population of around thirty million total, counting all species, but now with the context provided I want to raise that up to at least one hundred million. I hope we receive a properly labeled version of this map soon. While we can guess at most of the places--the town in the desert was seen in the trailer, the place in the ocean is obviously the Seaponies, etc--having official names would be very helpful. Like knowing what that town the southern rail ends at is, for instance.
  2. Of course the plot will be predictable. Every MLP episode is like that. This isn't super sophisticated writing we're dealing with. The point to an MLP episode is the journey, not the destination. For example, Honest Apple was instantly predictable, but was fantastic because the humor was so on point again and again. So I expect this one will be easy to predict, but the journey will be fun.
  3. I think you failed to comprehend what I said. Queer is a much broader umbrella than just lesbians. I just mentioned lesbians because it's the most common way I make ponies queer. Second most common is making them trans!
  4. I'm gonna say it's because he comes across as total camp gay. Then again I like making every single pony queer as all get out in my headcanon(so many lesbians) so I'm probably not the best judge of what the fandom does.
  5. Hey y'all, so once again we're looking for more players in the Ponyfinder 5e D&D campaign located here:

Please, come and join, We just need a few more players. I promise this will be fun.

  6. Hey y'all, we're still looking for players in this Ponyfinder DnD game:

So come on and join in! It's set in Equestria so plenty of fun will be had. :)

      Snow

I have never played a true game of D&D, mostly home brew with friends, it'd be interesting, especially a pony inspired game? but do you think you could give me a (short/quick) rundown of how it will work? Time for that much reading is something I find myself in short supply of at the moment.

You might have to ask EquestrianScholar that as he's the DM. But I can tell you that it's standard 5e plus Ponyfinder rules; the books can be downloaded from the link in his post. I'm presuming we'll run it in regular sessions.

  7. So for a few different reasons, I've dumped my previous character and adopted one from a story I wrote called "The West Tower"(an adaptation of the American television show The West Wing) instead. Her name is Gretchen Vogel, and she's a griffon paladin from Hoofover who speaks in a Germane (German, specifically Hanover) accent. She won't be played like a typical paladin because she's more about serving Celestia in gratitude for what Celestia has done for her people, so none of your usual "so strict moral code I have stick up my butt and am no fun in the party" stuff. I've already spoken with EquestrianScholar at length over this, but I'm making this post for the benefit of others reading the thread, as I'm hoping it'll encourage others to join. Here is a blurb from my story to give ya'll reading an idea of what she's like: GretchenVogelPaladinQueenCassie.pdf
  8. So I was trying to play this, and got up to the point where Pinkie invites you to check out the weapons/armor shop, but everytime I try to walk in there it freezes with an error reading "unable to load img/characters/%25corrottop.png" I've tried to fix it a few times by making copies of your Carrot Top file to match the file name it seems like it wants, but no dice. Past that and into the Flutterdash FFVI scenario (I see what you did there) there's an odd error involving "no fixed move reference" if I try to go back to Ponyville after speaking with Zecora, which also freezes the game. Nor can I move when I hit the part of the Everfree that is "not available in this demo." Judging by the dialogue when I meet the Taztlworm, it seems like there's a second exchange over the holes that's not triggering--I see the first one but there's no other one where Twilight starts suspecting Pinkie's trying to kill her before the boss fight. And if you win the fight against the commander on the first resource mission (good grief he had a lot of health) you don't get auto returned to base for some reason despite it acting like you should. That seems to be about where the demo ends, unless there's more and I just need to redo that mission over and over till I get enough points or something.
  9. @EquestrianScholar Okay, so I've made my character sheet. She's a pegasus cleric of Luminace named Falling Rain. Having not done a 5e character sheet before I dunno if I did anything wrong or missed anything, and would be most appreciative of any critiques or comments, especially re character background and backstory as I lack sufficient knowledge of the exact setting to be able to be more specific re certain things like temples or whatever. Also I had no ideas what languages to pick because I dunno, since this is set in Equestria, if there's specific Equestria-based languages we could pick from or not hence why those are not picked yet. EDIT: I've replaced the original GeneralZoi pony creator image with a different one from this new game. It's a far better looking image even if the hair isn't quite right. Also, when I have a chance later this week I'm going to invest some time in building her up more as an actual character since she's so bare bones. Thing is part of it's going to be sorta play-by-ear develop as I go, since that's what I like to do with roleplaying, so... yeah. FallingRainClericQueenCassie.pdf
  10. @EquestrianScholar His stories are pretty decent. Also, a query: I'm guessing from the campaign blurb you posted we're setting this in Equestria, not Everglow? So we should change our god we choose to worship to be the Equestrian equivalent, ie Luminace is Twilight, Sun Queen is Celestia, etc etc?
  11. I have none with D&D 5e, but I did play some tabletop back in the day, many years ago. It was all 3.5e and Pathfinder. I haven't had more experience mostly due to an inability to find a group. But--because I've been reading David Silver's Ponyfinder stories off of FIMFic, coincidentally enough--I've been reading up on 5e rules and am a pretty quick study in general. So I'll still be fairly newbieish, but I'll be learning quickly as we go along.
  12. I am definitely interested, and will be joining. I will edit this with my character sheet once I've created my character. A question before I do so: are there any others joining in that we wouldn't see post on this post? I don't want to duplicate any classes anyone else is playing.
  13. Howdy ya'll. Queen Cassie here, ready and waiting to answer any and all questions that do not violate the rules of this forum. Ask away and ye shall receive answers.
  14. Are they able to communicate? Are they consenting adults? If the answer to both questions is yes, they can do whatever they want and have the same rights as everyone else to boot. A pansexual homoromantic trans woman with polyamorous tendencies would hardly do well to forbid forms of love when they appear.
  15. Been a long time since I uploaded any pictures here. They're all outdated now. Has a kiss on me.
  16. Okay, I have to say, I've looked at many other attempts at Pony RPGs before, but apart from Super Lesbian RPG none of them were very fun or interesting or even well made. This, however, has not only peaked my interest, but has me hyped! I'm looking forward to when it's complete.
  17. There is a part of me that does want the show to be more mature in its storytelling. That is, serial season spanning plots, more adventure, etc. Basically just like now, but with the shadows being a little deeper. Or in other words, bumping the rating up from Y to Y7 or even TV-G. Definitely not "darker and more serious" by a traditional standard, but one that I think could be done without sacrificing the point to the show for Hasbro--which has always been and will always be to sell toys--and that would make people like me happier who want to see the show do more with its ideas and premises than it has been. It's not going to happen, but I'd like to see it.
  18. Both my Harold and I were crying pretty hard by the end of this episode. Both of us agreed it was the best in season seven so far and possibly the single best episode of the show period. The emotional maturity of this episode was something we haven't seen in a long time, if ever, on this show. We've had tiny bits and pieces of it scattered here and there--Granny Smith's story in Family Appreciation Day comes to mind--but not for a full episode. Pear Butter and Bright Mac are also easily my favorite pair of Mane Six parents, because while Fluttershy's were, well, shy, and Rainbow's too exuberant, PB and BM were just plain wonderful. And they're dead. They're dead, they died. It's what everyone's thought from the beginning but never did I expect that the show would ever actually confirm it. Oh we had a sense of it in the show ever since those twin stars from Apple Family Reunion all the way back in season three, and again in what Applejack said to Apple Bloom at the end of The Fault in Our Cutie Marks (and then their failure to appear entirely in Where the Apple Lies) but I just didn't think they'd go so far as to say it outright. And although they did not specifically say the words "they're dead" they did in just about every other way. I have not yet rewatched the episode because I don't want to spoil myself on it too soon, but it was so touching. I had never expected a straight ship in this show would garner my interest and appreciation this much, and yet I cried for their love during the whole series of events. And holy damn did William Shatner do a hell of a job in his guest appearance! I didn't even realize that was him, probably because I like everyone else bought into the whole idea that Shatner can only ham things up even though that's not true. Bright Mac (is his full name Bright Macintosh or is it literally just Mac?) having Apple Bloom's colors makes me hope that when she grows to be an adult, Apple Bloom will be the same size as her father and brother. I've been hoping for that for a long time but I really hope it now. Pear Butter was just, god she was such a wonderful character and it's a shame we will never get to see her again. (She was so gorgeous too... you were a lucky stallion, Bright Mac, because daaaaaayum.) At least, we won't unless DHX is allowed by Hasbro to show us how they died, and uh, I don't think that's gonna ever happen. Regardless it's become my new favorite episode, like, ever.
  19. There's a few different subjects I'd like to see them tackle that I think they could manage within their rating. Drug abuse is an obvious one, and yes it could in fact be handled. They're already approaching other subjects they used to shy away from, such as death. Beyond that though it'd be nice if they'd reexamine some of the morals they've tried to tell in the past that they've failed on. A Friend in Deed was one prime example of a failure.
  20. The Elements of Harmony ceased to have any meaning after the beginning of season four. Though Rainbow Power was used in their place at the end of season four, it has only been seen once since then, and during a dream sequence at that. The Mane Six have shown no inclination towards using Rainbow Power and odds are likely they never will, owing to the writers' original intents of getting rid of the Deus Ex Machina plot solver magic. Now, with that said, I would actually agree that there is more or less a Mane Eight, as it t'were, but Sunset is not a part of it. She's with her own group, the Humane Seven (or Spectacular Seven, even.) No, if anyone, it's Spike. Spike has been more involved with the Mane Six as of late, and I'd like to see him continue to rise because he's a pretty fun guy when he's not being all Nice Guy with Rarity, anyway. While I don't wish to step on your toes, I have to say I think it's very unlikely that Sci-Twi would be leading the group. For one, she's far more like Twilight was at the beginning of season one, with a heaping dose of anxiety on top. For two, it just wouldn't make sense for her to come in and take over a group that's had Sunset Shimmer involved with it in EQG from the beginning (formerly as an antagonist, yes, but involved nevertheless.) Sunset Shimmer's character arc over the first three movies shows how she's come into her own as a leader for good, effectively accomplishing her goal of power and leadership that she always had in mind, but with friendship, honor, and love rather than greed, fear, and hatred. It is at least for this as much as their (Hasbro) desire to separate EQG from MLP that Princess Twilight has not shown her face since Rainbow Rocks. It was always leading to this. Sci-Twi isn't Princess Twilight. She doesn't have any of the background necessary to be a leader. Yes she was a fantastic student and researcher, but unlike her pony self who had the opportunity to be taught leadership skills from the leader of her nation, Sci-Twi is just an ordinary teenager gifted with magic thanks to her tinkering. She's smart, she's a valuable member of the team and a good friend, but she has no business being in a leadership role until and unless she has some major character development, something that might happen if there is an EQG television show as I'm hoping they intend to do. Whether you like Sunset Shimmer or not (and I don't personally get that but to each their own and all that) she's the leader of the Humane Seven, and that's not going to change.
  21. Judging by the marketing and the trailer, the movie appears to be written in such a way that someone unfamiliar with the show could still come in and enjoy it, rather like how the nuTrek movies have been made to cater to people outside the traditional Star Trek fandom. As such I do think it's likely the movie will garner an increase in the fandom, albeit a small one. I'm unsure of how well this movie will really do, honestly. The celebrity voice actors being marketed especially seems like it's trying to draw in new folks, but whether or not that will succeed is another question entirely.
  22. It'd be nice to see her have a quick cameo, but I think it's likely they'll keep her out of the movie, if only because the Equestria Girls had two movies in the theaters and they should let the Mane Six actually have some time in the spotlight. Although it's always possible she might be around in celebration sequence, but I'm not so sure about that. Since they cut the plot about her wanting to return to Equestria from Friendship Games, it seems like they don't really want her running around Equestria very much. Probably because they want to keep EQG and FIM separate.
  23. Oh yes, those. I wrote updated ones (and by updated I mean as of the end of season two) that are linked in my signature. I was actually reading through them last night because I hadn't looked at them in years and had actually forgotten the contents. I remain surprised by how well they stood up over the seasons, though some of the speculation wasn't quite right. (Like how in Fluttershy's I have this whole thing about her having had a bad family, when in fact she didn't.) I'm happy to hear you enjoyed them. Anyways, thanks ya'll for the hellos.
