No, not a fan... To me, modern OS's have become less user driven, and more AI driven. That's what I loved about XP, (and still love today!) You boot it up, and you have a tool to do what you want with it. It's not bloated with "helpful AI integration" and complexity. I prefer just a simple and proper interface, that allows me to do what I need to do, and has a lightweight feel to it. I'm not a fan of touchscreens, I don't own a smartphone (I still use a LAN line) And I'm not a fan of a start menu that doesn't offer the options of my current one. I hate live tiles, I hate being bombarded with advertisements, I'd much rather just stick simplistic. (Not only that, but don't even get me started on the backdoors/privacy concerns with both 7/8/and 10. It's VERY "NSA" friendly) I guess when it comes down to it, I just have different needs. I grew up on windows 95/98...and to me, XP still maintains that feel in a way that other operating systems don't. No offense to those who like it, everyone's entitled to their own opinions. But as for me? Sticking with what I got, and happy to do it.

Sup guys! I'm Brilliant Venture! I make various forms of electronic pony music. Plenty of wubs, drums, melodies, and remixes are available on my youtube, soundcloud, and pony.fm account! I love music...always have, always will! I've got many aliases, but Brilliant Venture is strictly for pony music. Brilliant's style is heavily 8-bit influenced, with a kind of soundtrack feel to the electronic base of it all. So if you want, come swing by and give me a visit! I'd love to have ya

ok...I'm probably going to get some hate for this... but my answer is yes...as long as the rules are followed.. but let me explain what I mean by that. I'm fine with people prefering two characters be together...but then there are the shippers... the big-time shippers...the ones that won't shut up about it. The ones who throw it in your face and are like, RARIJACK SHOULD BE A COUPLE, AND THEY NEED TO BE!!!!!! or LYRABON IS CANON NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS...MY SHIP HAS SAILED!!!!!!!!!!!!111111 Yes...those guys...the ones who go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overboard. Speculation is fine...even making some fanart is okay as long as it's not offensive and in-your-face. I mean...there's two sides to the whole ordeal, as there is with most popular things. I think the main rule for me, is to be respectful, and down-to-earth as far as the things said concerning the topic. There's the people that see it as just a fun little thing, and those that make it their all-out quest, and if you think differently than those people, flame wars will commence. So yeah...if it's your thing, do it...but take heed that others aren't really that interested. (Also, this is a bit out in left field, but isn't shipping kinda like arranged marriage only fictional? Putting two people/ponies together because YOU think they're meant for eachother?... it's just kinda funny to ask some of the hardcore shippers what they think of the idea, and watch them hate on the idea of "arranged marriage" when that's basically what they're hypothetically doing!)

I didn't find those episodes to feel forced personally. In fact, Rainbow felt entirely in character to me! Just a bit more developed. I mean, look at twilight sparkle...compare how she is now to her season 1 counterpart, and there's been a LOT of change!...but that same adorkable pony is still there, just more developed now! Same goes for Rainbow imo. She's had 5 seasons to grow closer to her friends/pets, and learned a ton of lessons since the show began, so I guess it just makes sense to me.

Would you rather disappoint Bill Nye, or Mr. Rogers?
BrilliantVenture replied to Probably Lee's topic in General Discussion
Mr. Rogers definitely! His message was kindness, fairness, love, generosity, imagination, respect for others, tolerance, and overall good morality. He was a minister, but never brought up religion, an activist, but knew when to speak, and when to stay silent. He was a role model for many, and will be missed by many... I watched Bill Nye as a kid, but now that I've grown up and seen some of the stuff he says... He seems pompous, insulting, heavily opinionated, and very...in-your-face about things. Of course, this is all opinion, you are free to disagree... -

ain't no pony prettier than sunlight dazzlescratch! gaze upon the marvelous merging of Adagio Dazzle, Twilight Sparkle, Sunset Shimmer, and Vinyl Scratch...She's over powered, is an alicorn, and outrageously alpha! BOW BEFORE HER PEASANTS! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! (But on a serious note, I've always liked Fleur Dis Lee and Celestia...their designs are awesome!)

Aright now...let's see... Yes. I really loved the episode! Good writing, good story, part of the plot threw me for a loop (which always makes perfect to me!) and some good development to boot... the ONLY thing I feel is wrong with the episode is the epic troll that hasbro studios/the writers put into the episode. That screenshot of Vinyl, Octavia, and Rarity judging sweetie belle's voice?; yeah...only lasted 10 seconds. I thought there was going to be a full episode based around it, so when I saw it come and go...I was just like..."wait...what?" anyway, good episode overall! Plenty of reason to love the season so far... I give it 4.2 brohoofs out of 5!

@princess_moonlight Here's the one I was talking about a while back (posted it today!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN_7U1dKox0 You actually kind of gave me the final push to finish it! Thank you for that!

and I think that's an important thing to realize...while it's awesome to have villains like tirek and chrysalis, sometimes the biggest and deepest threats come from just everyday people. It's more of a realistic and down-to-earth concept that's pretty easy to relate to. So I give them majour props for that! (and it's cool that they left Starlight on a cliffhanger, hope to see more of her later!)

What's goin' on everypony? To celebrate Pony Day, I decided to finally release my remix of "Find a Way." It was always one of my favourites of Danny Ingram's compositions, so I really wanted to do my own version. It's taken a long time, but I wanted to make sure this remix turned out as good as I originally wanted it to be. I started on it late 2013 and it's had like 3 different versions since then; but I've finally settled on this one and I hope you all like it! Thanks for the support, and I'll see you in the next one! Stay Awesome! -B.V.- PMV and make sure to grab the free DL if you want it! (Sidenote: WooHOO!!!! 400th post! )

music Does your music define who you are?
BrilliantVenture replied to ReGen's topic in Media Discussion
oh yes! Very much so... While I tend to like at least one song in every genre, My main loves are electronic, classical, and punk/post hardcore. When I was a kid, I got into classical through my grandparents. My Grandad (RIP) was a very talented opera singer, and my Grandmother was a fantastic pianist. There was always some kind of concerto or symphonic piece playing in the background when I was a kid, (My parents and I lived with them temporarily while my Dad was getting his masters degree) and I loved it! I love good melodies, sweeping strings, and deeply moving compositions. It's just so beautiful to listen to. As I grew older, I got into a bit of pop and rock. I enjoyed metal-esque guitars, good drums, and well thought out instrumentals. But then came my biggest love, Electronic music. When I was a kid, I was a gamer...or at least, as much as I COULD be. All I had was my dad's old Gameboy, and 3 games. Super Mario Land, Nemesis, and Tetris. While Super Mario Land was my favourite of the 3, I probably played Tetris the most. It was (and still is) just a great puzzle game you could pick up and play any time! But most importantly, I found the music to be incredibly addictive! I always loved the "B" theme on it, such a unique melody. And then one day, I went out lazer tagging with the family and ran into this song. Tetris Revenge... A melody I recognized, with a crazy twist. I searched and searched for that track...it was the first EDM track that got my attention and inspired me to seek more. I bought some mix CD's, started making mixtapes, and my genres progressed the more I went along. I started out with Hard House, (which is an American made genre that had its roots in chicago, and LA) and then moved on to trance, progressive, house, hardstyle, and finally dubstep/brostep/idm/etc. Whenever I play music, it always matches my emotion at the time. I'm generally a somber/sometimes edgy guy. So I'll always be playing something with a good melody or an intense drop. The same goes for my productions. I got into producing around 4-5 years ago, and have found that it's a great outlet for capturing ones emotions/memories at the time, and storing them eternally for reliving. So basically any music I create is based on who I am, and how I feel at the time. Anything that inspires me or speaks to me, I'll put into my productions. It gives them soul. I guess in the end, I'm a music lover in general. So therefore, if it's a track that speaks to me, and it's something that I feel represents me in some way, I'll have it on. So, short answer? yes...my music defines EXACTLY who I am.
